Walt's Pub and Grill

Made a quick lunch stop here, it was my first time at this place, didn't know WL had a restaurant with a nice pond view! Had salmon pasta salad with poppy seed dressing, I wish I ordered a couple more dressings on the side to see what went well with it, the server was nice as she told me a lot of people do the raspberry vinaigrette dressing with this type of salad, but I was not in a mood for a fruity dressing! The salmon itself was grilled and delicious! Great ambience with the pond view!

My girlfriend and I visited this location tonight and met with some friends. We'd just eaten at the new Brownsburg location and found it underwhelming. Check out my review of that Walt's on my profile. My first impressions of the building is that the exterior looks like a modernist non-denominational church. There weren't really any immediately apparent signs for the restaurant outside. Inside, it's very nice looking. Very dim and warm feeling. The bar looks impressive. Once seated, our waitress was a little gruff but very nice and attentive despite having a large birthday party table to attend to. It was very loud. She was more than patient with her unable to hear us and vice versa. The menu is decently big with lots of variety. I ordered their "steak of the day" 10oz with fries and broccoli. My girlfriend ordered their tenderloin with fries. Her tenderloin was huge and looked nice with a shiny brioche bun and lots of lettuce tomato and onions. She let me have a bite of the tenderloin itself right after it was delivered to the table and it was pretty good despite not being hot. Her fries were also not hot. My steak came out after everyone else's food. The steak was ordered medium and was delivered medium well. It was dry and chewy with not much seasoning. My broccoli was not hot. It was supposed to be seasoned but didn't taste like it. I also encountered a couple of cooked rice grains and beans. Not sure if that was from something else that happened upon my plate or my broccoli was supposed to have rice and beans in it. Either way a bit unnerving. My fries were piping hot. Definitely disappointed in my meal. I was tempted to send it back but we were with people and on a little bit of a time crunch so I didn't. My gf liked her food. She really enjoyed her sandwich. At least for me, this place is a one shot, done. Very very average and underwhelming overall sad to say.

Not your typical bar and grill! Classy interior, large, and quiet. Service was wonderful. Alcohol options were surprisingly a bit weak for a place called a bar and grill, but the food options were broad. What we got (nachos, flatbread, and steak wrap) were standard yet enjoyable.

I like the large seating areas here and variety of settings. From pub table at the bar to four top near the fireplace, to secondary bar or outdoor patio, a seating option for every size group. I've never had a bad meal here and the servers are helpful. The staff and chef are accommodating with event set up, such as graduation reception or staff appreciation lunch.

Visited this past summer and to say the service was bad would be a major understatement. Took about 90 minutes for our large group to each get one drink and pay. Such a waste of a night. The restaurant still looks nice, and the patio is cool, but going here just *sucks*.

Food was very good. I had the fried tenderloin & it had some good flavor. my friends had the Frisco melt sandwich as the special today & they said it was delicious. My daughter had the catfish & it was good too.The server was very nice although she was busy, she kept our drinks full. It was a good experience & we'll definitely be back!

Walt's never disappoints food is always great and staff is always fast and friendly. Love the outside patio on summer evenings.

It is to bad that bartender can just make there speciality anymore they just follow a recipe.

Great food and service!!! The restaurant is beautiful inside. Salads are delicious and tenderloin sliders are a must!

Chicken wings are amazing. This is a very fancy restaurant and it is affordable too. I am always treated well when I come here. I would highly recommend this if you live in West Lafayette or are just here to catch a game at the University.
