The cook went overseas. Now, the fresh roasted duck option is back again. See pic of new menu.I was in the area craving something different. I decided on the costly whole duck for $34.99 instead of the half duck for $19.99. One of my two containers has more meat, and I do not think I would be able to let the cook know which half of the duck I would have wanted but next time. Language barrier. Also, a hanging half duck did not have much meat so it weighed some into my decision.

I popped in, perhaps to get something to eat that was prepared and ready to go, like a roll or sushi-like meal. They don't have many things like that at Viet Hua, but what they do have is lots of meat and fresh vegetables, spices, noodles, and lots of alive underwater animals, like fish and crabs. I spent a couple of moments just looking at the crabs halfheartedly trying to claw their way out of their bins, and the fish swimming in their small containers, waiting for someone to pick them and eat them. The seafood area is either "fresh" or "bleak," depending on how you look at it. Viet Hua is located in a big shopping center in Castleton. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but step inside the store, and there are lots of things inside, nicely organized.

I've been meaning to go to the Asian market but always get sidetracked by other things. Finally made time, and this may be my new obsession. Definitely spent more than I planned but less than I could have. So many different types of tofu, noodles, vegetables, meats sauces, teas and so much more. They even have different types of rice cookers and have cooking utensils and steamers. One stop shop for all your cooking needs to make your pho, bibimbap, or whatever tickles your fancy. One word of caution, I had picked a packet of fried bean curd that I ended up not buying because I noticed when I was checking out that several pieces had mold on them.

I have been to Viet Hua a couple times and bought aluminum vessels, Asian spices, Thai sauces and a variety of other fruits and vegetables that I do not get in local grocery stores. The store houses a lot of item for day to day cooking and serving. The quality of the vessels worked really well for me and are still my staples 3 years later. The size and price of local Asian items is pretty on point and some times cheaper than the Indian stores. Hailing from Asia I can confidently say that The authenticity of Thai sauces and spices is undeniable. Our dishes turn out lip smacking delicious. This is a good spot!

Stumbled across this place when I went to the piercing shop down the street. Searched boba and this place popped up. Saw the good reviews and couldn't pass. I pull up and the place isn't too much appealing on the outside but on the inside it's organized and everything is cheap and at a very good price. Got some incense and decorations and even got boba. I got a strawberry popping boba and a milk tea boba. I also got coffee cakes and boba drinks in the can. Going again today second day in a row! New favorite spot.

Love going here to get all my favorite Chinese snacks and dumpling supplies. My only complaint is that I wish I lived closer.

As one of the few Asian grocery stores in Indianapolis. I really think this is one of the best. It has everything you need from Asian vegetables to snacks.I understand that the place has a unique aroma to it, but I believe that it can be easily overlooked considering the huge selection of grocery and vegetable items that they have. They also have a large meat department which includes everything from beef products to live crabs. The huge bonus for me was the bakery there. It is the only Asian bakery that I have found in Indy (think 85c or Tous Les Jours). I found their egg tarts to be very tasty. As with most Asian grocery stores, their prices are as good if not better than the Kroger's out there--especially considering the uniqueness of the products and the wide range of fresh veggies.

I absolutely love Viet Hua!! From the produce, the fresh seafood, noodles, roast duck (yum!!!!) and other hard to find items. I like that it's a small open space so everything is easy to find. Viet Hua is also reasonably priced, my last visit was around $150 and I got a lot of good stuff!! One thing though, when you walk in, there will be an immediate funky smell. Please don't let that turn you away, it goes away within a few steps. Viet Hua really is a fantastic Asian grocery and I've been coming here for years and will continue for many more years. If you like cooking and want authentic ingredients or this is just the food you eat normally, Viet Hua is the place to go!!

I was shopping for some herbs to make some soup yesterday, couldn't find any herbs i bought. I called the store and the manager asked me to send them my receipt. As soon as she received the receipt, she did some research on the videos, and got to me immediately. I am really impressed with how she handled it. Highly recommended this store to anyone loves Asian food.
