Train cars are in the Crowne Plaza attached to Union Station and have been converted to sleeping rooms. Very cool!

That ceiling.
Eek in love with this place!

The ceiling. Look up, folks.
Such gorgeous architecture and history.
The original stairs to each respective track are still present.
Beautiful historical building.
Pretty grand, if you ask me.
A view inside the train car. They have adjoined cars with double beds for bigger parties. So cool!

Spent a day here for a friend's wedding. The architecture reminds me of the Great Gatsby. And on one of the flights of stairs, you can see the wear on the stone of where people have climbed the stairs over the years, which is cool. It seems like a place that has a lot of history.

I love nothing more than a unique venue with endless possibilities (bonus brownie points if it has historical charm), so it's no surprise I fell head over heels in love with Grand Hall at Union Station when I attended a Creative Mornings talk.In the good ol' days, this is where travelers waited for their trains. It opened in 1888, and looking around you can sense the history and visualize a black and white photo of Union Station in its glory days. When train travel went by the wayside, Grand Hall was left abandoned and dilapidated until it was transformed into a shopping mall + food court in the 1980s. When Circle Center Mall opened up and stole the thunder, Grand Hall was remodeled to become the gorgeous event space it is today. This is a great example of a historical building that in many ways has remained the same but has changed its purpose to meet the needs of the time. A lovely venue for a large seminar, annual meeting, or wedding. I highly recommend you check out Union Station and also take a peek at the train car hotel rooms at the adjacent Crowne Plaza. Take a step back in time and reimagine Indy as the crossroads of the country - by train, that is!

Went here for a company holiday party. I've never been here before and shows how naïve I am! I've lived in central Indiana my entire life and never knew this gem existed! It's quite historic and very cool on the inside. Exterior, it kinda looks plain Jane but they've done great work at keeping up with the maintenance while keeping the history intact. It's very pretty and I would actually love to stay in one of the train cars I accidentally ran into across the street. It's a good venue for a couple hundred people. There's an old bar on one side, empty space on the other and of course, a big empty space in the middle. admin offices appear to be up on the upper levels. It's somewhat decorated for the holidays, tastefully. I'll have to come back andVisit on my own to delve into the history!

Oh, Union Station, I've neglected to pour some love on you. From your beautiful stained glass windows at each end and history soaked architecture to your grand downtown location with the iconic clock tower, you are one of Indy's finest venues and pieces of history. In addition to the spacious upstairs with the wraparound bar and second level filled with additional spaces, you offer a speakeasy-style basement bar (Ironhorse) that has a totally different vibe from the rest of the building. I'm hoping one day to stay in one of the train cars in the attached Crowne Plaza hotel. I recommend popping your head into Union Station for great photos as a visitor or if you're looking for a large venue for a party or wedding.

I recently attended a wedding here and had a great experience. The facilities are retro yet solid and classic. The reception dinner along with the service was fantastic.Open bar was a classic wooden bar that accommodates several people at the same time.Highly recommended for your event or wedding.

I went to this venue last night for New Year's eve and it was so much fun! There were three different levels with different genres of music, a drag queen show, and a live band! The band was excellent and the music was awesome. I want to do this again for New Year's next year! It was my first time there and I definitely want to go back and check it out at some point, from when I can see the pictures of the rest of the station are very cool.

I was at the Big Ten party here and it's a gorgeous facility. I didn't even know a place like this existed in Indianapolis. It reminded me a little of the main hall of the Musee d'Orsay in Paris, which is also a converted train station.I would certainly go to more events held here.

One of the most beautiful spaces in the city--awe inspiring and thought provoking. Great for events if you want to make an impression. An incalculable number of people have passed through this space since it opened in 1888. Indianapolis had the first Union Depot/ Station in the world, but this building is the 2nd incarnation. Always love attending events here. History on it: http://historicindianapolis.com/history-of-indianapolis-union-station-part-two/

My husband and I had our wedding at the Grand Hall - I'll skip talking about how beautiful and unique this venue is because that is evident when you go and check it out. I'll focus on how everyone at Crowne Plaza was an absolute dream to work with. They made our day incredibly worry free and were able to accommodate exactly what my husband and I envisioned. Everything from set up, to food and beverage was amazing and we were able to customize things important to us (a few of which were getting a keg from my hometown microbrewery, a napkin fold I found on pintrest haha, a specialized drink my mom made growing up, as well as a taco and tequila late night snack that wasn't on the menu), all while working with me to add and subtract things that would work within our budget... We still get so many compliments on how amazing everything was including the food. I've heard of so many brides that have something that bothered them about their wedding but try and make the most of it when they look back... I can genuinely say that I never had that moment thanks to the incredible team at Crowne Plaza - everything was beyond perfect. Special shout out to Desiree - she was so incredible to work with and took care of absolutely everything for me. I can't thank y'all enough for making my husband and I's day so special.

This place is beautiful! We came from Columbus and happened upon this place. There are several themed rooms we liked the man cave and the duck pin room as well as the speakeasy. I tried a fresh made ginger drink which was so good I had it the next day again. This was in the coffee bar. Had the chicken sandwich with hot honey and jalapeño. I can't wait to go to the rooftop bar during football season. I will be back!
