This is a regenerative farm. I appreciate the extra effort they put into making their food safe and the best tasting possible.I like to order online and have them drop off at my doorstep. I do wish they still carried raw milk.If you've not checked them out, go to tynerpondfarm.com and place an order if you live local. Order $63 plus gets free delivery to your front door. You cannot beat that! Put in your ZIP Code to see if they deliver to your area. I live on the west side of Indianapolis and I am in their delivery zone. They are very friendly and very helpful and very knowledgeable. You can get a lot of information off of their website. Give them a try!

Tyner Pond is the place to get local meat. The prices are just a skosh more than chain grocery stores, but look: You're paying a couple of extra dollars for beef, chicken, pork and lamb that was nurtured and humanely raised on a nice farm in central Indiana. And you can taste the difference! These animals lived a happy life. If you're able, please support local farms and buy local meat.My standard order always includes ground beef, because it's deliciously fatty but not too fatty. Their ground beef cooks up just right. I also love all of their pork products that I've tried thus far, including pork chops, bacon and pulled pork. Their pulled pork is smoked and precooked, so all you have to do is warm it up and enjoy. It's amazing all by itself or with barbecue sauce. Honestly, I'm getting hungry just thinking about the pulled pork.Tyner Pond also sells grass-fed raw butter, fresh eggs (including duck eggs), chicken stock, raw cheese, lard, and sometimes food, like jarred meat sauce and soups. It's easy to place an order online via the Tyner Pond website. How it works is that if it's your first order, they will send you your products packaged in one of their signature red Tyner Pond Farm insulated bags. You keep the bag, and the next time you place an order, you put your red bag out on your porch on the morning of your delivery day, and they will put your order inside the bag. So easy! If you forget to put your red bag out on your porch, no worries. They will deliver your order in a new red bag. And then you have two red bags (or however many bags, depending on how many time you forgot to put your bag out). It's all very casual and yet professional. And it's always a delight to see your red bag stuffed full of delicious food. I love Tyner Pond Farm!

I'm so glad I found out about Tyner Pond Farm. Not only are all the products I've tried fresh and delicious, but the email newsletters are informative about sustainable farming, responsible animal husbandry, how the farm works. Now, the products: it's been a while since I've had eggs from pasture-foraging hens. The difference from factory eggs is stunning. Stew beef, inventive sausages, smoked pork chops--all incredible. Free deliver on orders over $50? What's not to love. Now I'll get meat only from Tyner and Joe's butcher shop.

As I was prepping for another attempt at Whole 30 and was making my grocery pick up list and seeing how much of my total was meat, I had a duh moment of why I wasn't ordering from a local! Not only is the meat tasty, it was actually cheaper than ordering from the grocery. I stocked up on ground chicken, ground pork, chicken, shaved ham, breakfast sausage and ground beef. They offer free delivery for orders over $35 and it's well worth it! Check them out for your meat needs. You won't be disappointed.

This "business" is a little confusing. Although most of the photos are of the actual farm, the address listed is a small store front on the north side of Greenfield. You can visit the farm (self-guided) to the southeast of Greenfield, but since it is January when I write this, I thought I would visit another (warmer) time and stop in at this store instead. The store is basically an open area with a small merchandise area to the left. The main part of the store has the right wall lined with glass windowed freezers that include cuts and price lists for pork, chicken, beef, and some vegetables. There are additional coolers on the left side where you can find steaks and other items. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but they don't hover. They also explain about home delivery service (free, but certain days only). The farm itself is designated as having organic soil, but the food is in the process of being certified. Some of the animals raised are 100% grass fed, while others are "finished" with feed brought in from outside the farm. They hope to transition over the next couple years to get the meat certification. So, when you look over the items in the freezers, you will see the price lists have grass fed only prices and slightly less expensive "finished" prices. Understand that prices in general are going to be higher than big box supermarkets just due to the farm being a much smaller scale operation and that feeding animals on grass takes longer for them to fill out than the alternate method which big box producers use. Time is money, so understand that the meat will be leaner and more costly than the supermarkets. But if healthier eating options are important to you while maintaining having meat in your diet, this is a place to consider. They have an online presence that allows for ordering which includes the delivery.Review #3597

I was raised on a farm. We always raised our own livestock and processed our own meats. I just fried up some of Tyner Farms bulk pork sausage. I couldn't believe how good it was. Hands down, it was as good or better than what my family made back when I was a kid! Tender and most importantly the seasoning was perfect! I'll definitely be buying more!

[Warning: this post is not Vegan :-) ]It all started with a pork tenderloin sandwich. A month ago we were eating dinner at "The Mug" in Greenfield, and I turned to my husband & said "this tastes like it's made with 'real pork,'" meaning that it didn't taste like the factory farm raised animals (personally, I think I am really in-tune to the distinct flavor of suffering in meat products...but I digress). He gave me a sideways glance & a sound of agreement, and went back to his delicious tenderloin sandwich. I noticed as we were leaving that there was a sign at the counter regarding their meat products being antibiotic-free, hormone-free & that they were sourced from Tyner Pond Farm. I made a mental note to check out "Tyner Pond Farm" in the future.Flash forward a couple of weeks, I wrote my review for "The Mug" and realized I had never looked up Tyner Pond Farm (TPF). Imagine my surprise & delight when I realized that they not only are "open to the public" for purchase, BUT THEY DELIVER TO PLAINFIELD!!!! (more specifically, they deliver to within 50 miles from the farm's Greenfield location) Not only do they deliver, but it is FREE delivery with no minimum purchase, at the time of this post. Add onto that that there are no "club" fees or requirement to make purchases weekly...it's amazing. The delivery days are set by regions in the city, and my delivery day happens to be Tuesday.TPF offers a variety of pasture-raised, antibiotic-free, hormone-free, drug-free poultry, pork, beef & lamb that are raised using sustainable farming practices. Part of their beef is 100% grass fed, the rest is grass-fed/corn-finished. The feed products they use are GMO-free. They also offer fresh eggs & a few other supplies (i.e. local honey). Once I saw that they not only carried ethical meat products, but REAL eggs, I was hooked, I had to place my first order. On another social networking site I "Friended" Tyner Pond Farm, and was excited to find a 20% off code for my first order. Our first order arrived last Tuesday and consisted of: fresh eggs, bacon ends (they were out of regular bacon), jowl bacon, pork loin chops, chicken leg quarters, & grassfed beef shortribs. A review of my purchases can be found at the end of this review. Price-wise, although I ended up buying more meat than I would typically buy in a week, it was really comparable to grocery store prices. Overall, I can say I was VERY HAPPY with my first purchase from TPF, and I am looking forward to being a weekly customer. It was exciting to come home to the Big Red Bag on our front doorstep & start digging into our purchases. How it works is that with your first order, they deliver a Big Red Bag & ice packs (if necessary by outside temperatures). You do not have to be home when they deliver, they will leave it on your step. Then, with subsequent orders, you just set out your Big Red Bag and/or a cooler on your front step for the delivery. The meat products arrive frozen (just place in your fridge to thaw), the eggs obviously do not arrive frozen :-).I think the most important thing to me though was the videos on TPF's Facebook page. There were videos of pigs trotting across a spacious field in the snow, cows gathering for their morning grass allotment (& that one cow in the background chewing on the door to the tractor...), and the obvious video-evidence on the page of the passion & care that the owners & workers of TPF show for their animals. While I can never be vegan (I've tried), we have made a conscious decision to reduce our consumption of meat products, and I firmly believe that it is important that we Respect & Nurture the animals that provide us nourishment [steps off soapbox, for now]. I also like that TPF encourages farm visits (see their website for more info). I am so thankful for TPF & the ease of being able to make ethical meat choices for consumption at home. The fact their products are INCREDIBLY TASTY helps too. A quick review of the products I purchased:- Bacon Ends- after trying these, I CAN'T WAIT to try their regular bacon. The bacon ends were huge chunks of bacon that were super smoke-heavy. My husband & I both loved the taste.- Eggs- These taste like the eggs I ate growing up at my grandparents farm, and I get nostalgic & happy with each mouthful. To me, even a lot of the organic eggs sold in stores have this funny metallic aftertaste, I don't get that with the eggs from TPF. Also delightful is that several of our eggs had "double yolks" which is something I haven't seen very often since I was eating breakfasts at my grandparents' as a kid.- 100% Grassfed Beef Shortribs- Outstanding. These were the best short ribs I have purchased & prepped in a LONG time. They were totally worth the time investment of a slow braise and glaze. - Pork Loin Chops- Super-juicy & flavorful, even with a very simple season & grill cooking method. There was no bizarre taste that I detect with many store-bought pork products

I decided to try out Tyner Pond Farms after a very disturbing conversation about how a popular traditional big name grocery store brand raises their chickens. I will spare you the details, but I am glad that I made the decision to seek out a local farm who treats their animals humanely. Sorry my veggie friends, but this former country girl will never completely give up her meat! I have been extremely pleased with all of the products that I have received from Tyner Pond Farms. Their ordering process is quick and painless. You will pay $5 for the bag initially, but it is a minor cost considering you don't pay for the delivery. You have a few options from a delivery standpoint. First, check out to see when they deliver your area of town. This delivery date is at no cost to you. You can also specify a different delivery date for a minor cost or you can save on the total cost of your order by having it delivered to one of their specified businesses and picking it up. The guys doing the deliveries are super nice.If you are concerned about the source of the meat you are consuming and like to support a great local business, I would recommend using Tyner Pond Farms!

We order from TPF all. the. time. It's the only meat we consume anymore. Their rewards program is a real rewards program that other companies should take note of! Everything from the chorizo to the whole chickens to the brats are amazing. We've never been disappointed. Everything is grass fed and organic. Plus, you can't beat delivery to your front door for free!

This is a review of their product and delivery through farmersmarket.com (even though we ordered on their website it seems to go through farmersmarket.com for payment processing and delivery).Talk about getting the benefit of being able to buy produce from a farm known to pasture their livestock and deal with them humanely is awesome. Getting FREE delivery to our door without having to spend time travelling there and back is just AWESOME! We just placed our second order after discovering they supply food to one of our other favourites ClusterTruck (if you haven't checked them out you absolutely must!). Farm fresh eggs and frozen poultry/pork is our typical order. There are only two of us so we don't need lots of food but it is nice to be able to stock our upright freezer knowing a good meal with quality meats is just a days thaw away. The goods are delivered in insulated bags and the delivery person was struggling to get it all in our fairly good sized cooler we left on the front porch. Luckily we were home so we could just take the bags from him. We stuff the bags into the cooler so he can take them with the next delivery.Needless to say we will be repeat customers.
