We wanted a quiet Thanksgiving to ourselves in the middle of nowhere and this place came to mind (TURKEY in the name probably led us here!) Quaint and cozy with comfy rooms. We had a nice view out into the woods. There's a dining room, a cozy lounge with a fire place and board games where you can just relax as a family. Also, there's an arcade in the basement which my sons LOVED.As far as the food, the dinner buffet on the regular night as well as the breakfast buffet was pretty awful. I'm sorry, take it a few steps above hospital cafeteria, people. We're on vacation. But the Thanksgiving dinner buffet was good (thankfully) so at least they didn't get cheap there. The scenic hiking trails in the state park just outside the inn provide a great way to walk off all those calories. All in all, a nice relaxing family get-away. Much needed reset. Friendly staff. Last but not least...Roku TVs! Bring your fire stick and your set up for your own customized entertainment in your room.Just amp up the food quality on the standard everyday meals. Also could use coffee/tea in the lobby. (TIP: The Thanksgiving feast is midday so bring groceries for a room picnic in the evening as there's no food service at night on the holiday, and of course all local restaurants will be closed. We overheard some families that got stuck with gas station pizza at night.)

The restaurant was a little pricy for what the buffet provides, but the service made up for everything. Rooms definitely need some TLC. There was a mildew smell in a lot of the cabins. We had my sisters wedding and the staff were OUTSTANDING. 10/10 service, always 2 steps ahead of anything needed. They made this 5 stars.

Came here for a wedding, and as many others have said, there are pros and cons to this property.Pros- Beautiful woods, trails, scenery all around (duh), it's Turkey Run.- Two pools (one outside, one inside). The inside pool, which we used was nice, with plenty of towels, and highly chlorinated!- Rooms were clean and had plenty of space to relax and get ready for anything. -Reception Area- The reception are downstairs is cute and perfect for small gatheringsCons- Price- the rooms were a bit pricy, over $200- Buffet- Had breakfast two mornings at the buffet, and while it wasn't bad, wasn't worth the $16 (more if you want coffee, Juice and milk are free). The buffet was the only option for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, despite the "menu" talked about- Bugs...lots of bugs (check rooms)Beds- Beds are pretty rough and the blankets and all were old and "rustic"-Hours of Dining- Got there Friday night (day before wedding evening), and the restaurant was supposed to be open, but when went in at 7, the waitress said they had decided to close early, so had to go into Rockville, about 15 minutes away, for food.Overall, wouldn't rush back, but it could have been worse

I went specifically for The Narrows dinner and was happy to see that there was a buffet that night. There is a $7 in-state resident admission to pay to get on the grounds to park. The state park is beautiful! The restaurant buffet is also solid! Soup, salad, drinks, entree items, and dessert are all available. They served salads with various fixings and chicken poblano soup. There were several options at the drink station including iced tea and lemonade. Entree items included rolls, fried biscuits, fried chicken, bbq ribs, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and corn. Dessert was a fruit cobbler.

No, it's not Yosemite Lodge, but it's a clear notch above your typical suburban chain hotel experience. The biggest win, of course, is that you're not stuck in a concrete strip mall. But more to the point, the Inn itself offers some measure of 20th century charm with the right amount (in my opinion) of park kitsch -- furniture and art made to look rustic. And perhaps it was the fact that we were here in the off season, but our price was very much market rate, if not better.By all means, keep your expectations about the dining room very much in check. If you tire yourself out enough on the many hikes through the park, you won't mind so much that the food is forgettable.I wish I could say we tried out the swimming pool, but we were deterred by the maelstrom of children. But I can at least report that those kids did seem to be having a great time -- a win for everyone.

The restaurant is a rip off. They advertise a menu but tell you it's buffet only, which for breakfast is 18 dollars, and coffee and pop is extra. Children were 15 dollars. The dinner buffet is 21 dollars. The "buffet" was the cheapest breakfast items like biscuits, gravy, sausage, and potatoes, some French toast sticks. I didn't look at the dinner, because we ate elsewhere. It's 10 miles to anywhere else, so they are taking advantage of that.If you want affordable breakfast, Turkey Run Gas and Grill is 2 minutes away, and has a larger breakfast menu for less than a 1/3 of the cost. Breakfast served until 10:30.

We had a great large family dinner at the Inn. The buffet was excellent with good variety kept stocked and hot and ready, the salad portion of the bar was also good. Family friendly atmosphere is wonderful with family and friends with outstanding service at a reasonable price

We stayed overnight and the rooms were fine. They have a bit of character and we're quiet. Definitely appreciated the refrigerator in the room.Great lodge area to hang out and a nice veranda where we spent a bit of time. The restaurant however was a huge disappointment. The meals were all buffet and mediocre to say the least. Food was basically tasteless. Service was spotty. It was way overpriced. Sadly there is absolutely nowhere else to eat. We would never consider eating there again which is too bad as the buffet last time we were there- years ago was excellent.

We had a great visit to Turkey Run State Park! This review is specifically for the cabins. The cabins are newly renovated, and ours was very clean when we checked in. We were told that Check In was at 4, but our cabin was actually ready by 2 which was great after being on the road. The cabin had 2 full beds, a mini fridge, a microwave, a Keurig, and TV. It backed up onto Trail #6 and had a beautiful view over to the main Inn. Also, the employees were super helpful and accommodating. It was pouring rain at our checkout time but the employee told us to take our time so we didn't get drenched. :)We did not eat at the Inn's restaurant, but we did peek in at the lunch buffet and the food looked good. Would definitely recommend staying in the cabins, and Turkey Run is a beautiful state park!

The park is amazing even if it does get really crowded on holidays. The inn is OK. I mean it was fine and the staff were pretty friendly. But the restaurant was a rip off. A very expensive breakfast, coffee is not included in the buffet price. Staff was pushy. Biscuits were terrible. French toast was not good. But the scrambled eggs actually tasted like eggs.
