Giving this place 5 stars is as easy as living and breathing. Straight up, INCREDIBLE sandwiches. There is something about this place that makes you feel so rooted and appreciative of what small business restaurants are: just serving good food for good people without any fuss or frills. This place is small inside with limited seating, but when it warms up, there are plenty of picnic benches outside. Now back to these sandwiches: feels like you're being wrapped in the warmest most flavorful blanket ever. Meaning that yes, despite everything on these sandwiches (which is a lot), they actually fulfill the purpose of staying together! Honestly defies physics. I had their blackened chicken melt, but my bf got their peterdick, which I think is what they're best known for. I loved both, but definitely coming back to order the peterdick for myself! Their menu switches up and they have soups and salads sometimes too, and each sandwich is served with kettle chips. A place I already trust enough to say I'll actually try every item on the menu, and be back countless times!

It took me WAY TOO LONG to try this gem. And now i can't stop returning! This is now my favorite lunch spot. If you're tired of burgers, club sandwiches, wings... Come here to have your mind blown. They have reinvented the "normal lunch fare" with flavors for for the finest palates! So go ahead order the grilled cheese or club sandwich.... You will not be bored. It's a good sign when you walk in the door and smokey meat fragrance wafts toward you. Some tips:+ The place is small so if you plan on eating there expect to sit next to a stranger or at an outdoor picnic table + Hard to find... Just pretend like your going to Arby's drive thru or meineke then you'll find it!+ Come with an appetite or plan to take half home. These sandwiches are huge.+ When they run out they run out... So if you want what you saw on the Facebook post, come early+ If they're out of something... Don't go away... EVERYTHING IS AMAZING, try something new and you'll be happyTurf primarily does catering but they are so wonderful to have some lunch friendly versions of their culinary treats that they serve when they don't have a catering event, so check Facebook daily to see if they are open for lunch.

My husband was very leery that his wife was taking him to a tiny spot next to Meineke, but I told him to keep an open mind. I knew he was going to have his lunchtime mind blown once he bit into his smoked chicken wing. Spoiler alert: the wife was right because TURF has mastered the art of smoking poultry. These are officially my second favorite chicken wings in Indy! You know what food item on their menu board tops as my first favorite in town? The bread pudding. I imagine this sweet, gooey, and boozy would taste like a hug (if you could actually taste a hug). Even if you're feeling full, make room for this dessert! So what did my husband learn after our trip to TURF? Always trust in his wife's lunch choices.

You can't go wrong with anything on their menu so it's a treat that their menu changes nearly daily with a few menu staples and then specials that range from hearty sandwiches to phish and chips to a wild soup. Their chips are something else--homemade with the most amazing seasoning. And if they have it, be sure to add the pimento cheese and bread to your order. You'll thank me later.

This teeny little hidden gem of a place has the best wings (yes, THE BEST) in all of Indy. I asked what the secret was and was only told that they were brined. That day they were prepared with Parmesan and garlic. My mom ordered the shrimp and grits, raved about it and made me send a picture to my dad. I couldn't stop taste testing the grits. They're that good. It's counter service and they'll bring the food to you or they also seem to do a robust carry out business. The staff was super friendly and really seemed to enjoy interacting with customers. My only complaint is that I wish they were open more hours (weekday lunch only so far) but they are busy with catering, so we take what we can get. It's a little out of the way in Castleton, but try to make a point to get there. You'l love it.

I was introduced to TURF a few months back by a friend who had recently discovered it. At first, I was skeptical... how could a place that is hidden behind an Arby's and attached to a Meineke be good? After the first bite of my Cubano, I am happy to report that I was proven incredibly wrong and have been back a few times since. Now, I have my gripes... the Cubano isn't an authentic Cubano like the ones you get in Florida. For one, the bread isn't toasted and the taste is close, but not identical. But, the flavors are incredible! If you can look past getting an authentic experience, the sandwich quickly became one of my favorites in the city. While I haven't ventured out and gotten anything different, every single dish I have seen come out of the kitchen looks fantastic and the staff is incredibly nice and appreciative of the business. The prices are reasonable and everything is fresh. I would highly recommend trying!

My son-in-law, Ryan Helms, recommended the Turf. He and our daughter, Christina, ordered four different sandwiches with the home made chips. We split the sandwiches into four pieces so that we could try them all. We had the lentil curry chicken soup as well. It was all delicious! We had more than enough food for five people so there were left overs. Much to my surprise, when I reheated a piece of sandwich the next day, the the roll was so flaky not the usual dried out hard crust that would occur normally on a day old reheated bun. I was impressed. It is a must try!!

SHUT UP. TAKE MY MONEY. AND GIVE ME TWO OF EVERYTHING. I work in the area so I noticed Turf a couple months ago, but finally made plans with a friend to head there for lunch. There are now just two stages in my life: before Turf & after Turf. Now that I'm finally living in the Age of Enlightenment, there are a few things I'd like to share about Turf.Friendly, attentive service Some of the best damn food I've ever had...EVERSeriously good ingredients; scratch cookingFlavorful is an understatementConsider wearing pants with an elastic waist It's a smaller space for dining (about 14 seats total), so if you're planning to eat there just be mindful of the size of your group. If you haven't been to Turf for lunch, get there. Yesterday.

This is a great place for a good filling excellent lunch sandwich, way better than most. Not much for atmosphere, but the sandwiches and side dishes are super. They have a good range of soda and tea type drinks and some daily specials. All good, we will definitely, absolutely be going back.

Stopped in for a 1 short rib and 1 fried chicken sandwich today. They were both incredible and the homemade chips were great as well! Great flavors and a nice variety for having a small (6-7 sandwiches) menu. We will definitely stop by again!
