The ever expanding Tune Factory is so fun to visit during First Friday. They have a wide selection of art galleries, homes and a chicken chapel. I love to support local artists and First Friday at the Tube is a perfect place to do so.

Very nice space for the Frida Kahlo event today. Cupcakes, art, pots, ceramic flowers. The food truck smelled amazing. Looks like lots of work being done on building and the grounds. Gonna be an awesome space for indoor and outdoor events.

Oh, how have I not reviewed the Tube?! This is a creative and community-centric space that holds events, a gallery, and now a coffee shop too (Normal Coffee!). Located just a block or so southeast of Garfield Park, the area boasts several outdoor murals as well.I've been here twice for Creative Morning meet-ups, which the space is a perfect size for (probably holds about 75 people seated). They have a personal parking lot to the side of the building that you can park in for free, and I love seeing what new artistic things have popped up since I've been here last. For example, there's now painted wood objects decorating the circumference of the parking lot and a colorful hammock. Fun! DefInitely add this spot to your bucket list and stop by for one of their many upcoming events!!

What a gem in the Garfield Park neighborhood! A beautiful art area boasting three separate galleries, a work space, and a coffee bar! The flat white was *perfect* and I loved the low key and relaxing nature of the space. I'm looking forward to using it as a work space when I need!

I love coming by the Tube Factory mainly on first Friday's to see new exhibits. Located near Garfield Park you can easily find parking and walk over. The space is large with many things to check out. They have an outdoor space as well with chickens, foosball and ping pong. People there are very nice and chill and the place is kid friendly.

Just the other day I was wishing for a spacious semi quiet workspace that was close to home and had great industrial vibes. ENTER Tube Factory Artspace. The minute you come into the doors your creative juices start flowing, it's got a great feel! Concrete floors and a cool art space downstairs. The baristas at Normal Coffee are also AMAZING. If you visit and see brandon tell him Kai says hi and he's a beautiful human being!!

It seems everything Shauta Marsh and Jim Walker touches turns to gold. Indianapolis is lucky to have a couple so immersed in the Arts and passionate in making a difference that they share it with everyone. Tube Factory has already gained national recognition with its Sports Illustrated feature of the work of California based artist, Jesse Sugarmann's showcase called "The People's 500," which celebrates the Indianapolis 500 by placing everyday people on the racetrack. Upon entering, you can feel the creative energy of the building, having been transformed from a abandoned tube factory. A large mural by artist Emily Gable adorns a center wall, playfully capturing viewers interest with its dancing peanuts, milk and tubes paying homage to the space's history. There is plenty of parking available and seating and lighting to allow gatherings both inside and out. This space is designed with all ages in mind and offers a multitude of options and interactive information of how it came to be. I personally experienced a rare viewing of The Holy Mountain, a 1973 psychedelic masterpiece by Chilean surrealist filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, funded by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Entry and popcorn was FREE and beverages were available for sale from the glowing neon pink wall in the center of the gallery. It was my first 'trip' and I certainly left with my mind blown. The transformation is captured in an album on display for everyone's viewing and also on Flickr, here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bigcar/26778781591/in/album-72157667385476820/.I'm excited to have experienced the beautiful new space that brings such potential to their home neighborhood of Garfield Park and our great city!

I was in town for the afternoon and evening for an event. Ahead of time, we were looking for affordable and interesting things to see and do while in the area.A viewing of a youtube video from The Art Assignment, where they explored some artistic spaces in Indy, I added a few to my list. The Tube Factory Artspace was the closest to our first stop, and is free to visit as well. So it jumped to the top of the to-try list.We drove up and parked and just walked on in. There is no cost, and unless there is a special event, it appears that it is fairly quiet and chill. There were two people on their laptops in the front area of the artspace when we entered. The woman came over to say hello and gave us a run down of the current exhibits on display. She also turned all the lights on for us, so we could see the art :-PThere was one on the first floor, of paintings with thread-painting on top. Very delicate and interesting. The exhibit in the lower level was really cool, called "Freaks & Geeks," and featuring screen printed portraits of pop culture identities. Be careful on those stairs though, they feel like they are all different heights. The space is really cool and it would be awesome to attend an opening or a special event here. The outdoor space looked really fun, but it was too cold and rainy and early to really enjoy it!If you are in Indy, this place should be on your radar. Check out the exhibits, attend events, give it at least a little visit. You will probably be charmed.
