Total Takeout

I've used Total Takeout during both pre-pandemic and pandemic times, and I find it to be the best, most dependable delivery service option in my neighborhood. I like the online tracker that tells me the status of my order (i.e. order placed, cooking, out for delivery) as well as the support if my order needs to be modified. Every experience has been a positive one. All in all, Total Takeout will continue to be my go-to in order to keep me safe in pandemic time and--let's be real--lazy in non-pandemic times.

I placed an order 24hrs in advance for 1 salad to be delivered for a lunch meeting. Five minutes before the scheduled delivery, I received a call from Total Takeout wanting time know if they could deliver 30 minutes late. My meeting was scheduled for 12 not 12:30, totally unacceptable. I had to cancel my meeting and reschedule. Total Takeout's delivery charges are high compared to other services.. ie: Grub Hub, Door Dash. With taxes, delivery fee and automatic gratuity a $14.29 salad (which is $2 higher than what the restaurant charges!) ended up being $22.80. I have no problem tipping my delivery person and will be generous, unless it's an automatic tip plus a separate delivery fee. $0 delivery fee with Door Dash and small (if any) with Grub Hub. To upcharge the food AND add a delivery fee seems a bit excessive. I ordered the same type salad ($13.50)from Grub Hub, they had a $10 promotional discount, added a dessert ($3.50) and my total with tax and tip - $13.01

Love the convenience. Hate the markup. Look, I get you're a business. But either have a service fee for delivery OR markup the cost of the food. Don't do both. Based on my analysis, they are marking up the menu items 10%, charging a delivery fee, and asking for a tip for the driver, but not offering anywhere for us to leave a tip for the restaurant. I would love to support this business, but don't upcharge the food and give us an option to tip the restaurant.

I don't understand how people are writing such bad reviews. Total Take-Out is in a of its own. Total Take-Out has the best customer service & drivers. When you call them a human answers right away. They do not fight with you over issues with order. Only food delivery service I have used that I have never had an issue with. Only issue I've had were due to restaurant. The couple issues I had with restaurants were handled promptly & with amazing customer service. I am extremely picky person & will basically create my own dish & have not once had issue with Total Take-Out not communicating it correctly, unlike all the rest. Thank you for having amazing customer service, wonderful prompt delivery drivers, for putting up with the ton of changes I make to 1 dish! SUPPORT LOCAL & SUPPORT TOTAL-TAKE-OUT

Here are the restaurants/stores that TT delivers, as of Nov 3, 2016. Minimum order is $15, except as noted. Delivery fee is $4 (min) for the first 2 miles, plus $.50 per additional mile. Driver's tip is 15%. Remember: they only deliver FROM the Northside, TO the Northside. The website should tell you if you are in their delivery area.Total-Takeout is a local company. Total Takeout started expanding to more areas and while the service was great at first, the last 3-4 orders we have made through them I have regretted. Drivers takes forever to get the order and deliver - always over an hour even when it's projected to be shorter and has taken up to two hours to receive an order. Last Friday was the worst....we ordered pizza that arrived COLD! Even after us calling when the order was already late to check on how long it would be and after we inquired on if the food would even be hot with how long it was taking, we were assured it would be. I am pretty sure they only have one or two drivers hired at most since we almost always get the same driver no matter what time of day we place the order. I like to support local businesses, but this one has gotten quite pathetic lately.

I ordered from Total Takeout for lunch today. We got Paco's and wow it was great!! The food was hot and the delivery was super fast! And our delivery man was so kind and professional! I will be ordering again soon! I'm excited to try other restaurants they offer!! Great for a busy person!! I got the chicken chimichanga YUM!

A wide selection of restaurants they deliver from so any craving I have can be satisfied without leaving my couch. Delivery is pretty timely and anytime they've taken an extensive amount of time they made up for with adding a complimentary soda. Drivers have always been polite. I wish delivery fees were smaller but I guess that's the price I pay for laziness...

Bit pricey for the delivery/tip, but they were very quick and the driver was polite. First time using them and will try again with different restaurant. Food arrived a bit cold from the taco place we wanted to try.

Really GOUGED by Total Takeout today. In addition to their delivery fee and requisite minimum tip for the driver (cash not an option for tip), i was told by their representative that they upcharge every item on every order. I was charged $9.14 for a kid's quesadilla from Luciana's - a small flour tortilla with a handful of cheese and a scoop of black beans. Will NEVER use this service again! Do yourself a favor & go pick up carry out yourself instead.
