Tony's Skillet
Cup of coffee

Tony's has gone through a couple of iterations in the past year before becoming Tony's, and I have to say it is a huge improvement. The owners remodeled the inside and created a classic diner menu. It wasn't that busy the morning I was there, probably because it was Wednesday and most everyone was at work. A perk of almost being retired!Anyway, like I was mentioning, the inside is, clean and new. I was greeted when I entered and immediately taken to my table. The menu is rather large for restaurants in my town, but I soon settled on Tony's Skillet. The menu states that Tony's Skillet is "loaded with onion, green pepper, bacon, sausage and ham. Smothered in country gravy.", and I can attest that it is! The kitchen is quick and efficient, and my meal was served in no time. Tony's Skillet is one of the better skillets I have in quite a while, and the coffee was really good.If you are in the Anderson area and looking for a good place to get a good breakfast, why not stop at Tony's Family Diner?

Why people enter the restaurant business to not serve food they would serve their family is beyond me. Or maybe this is how they eat I don't know.We waited five minutes to be told sit anywhere anyway. That's fine. I understand probably working to prep alley or something.. ordered a world famous pork tenderloin, breading had no flavor no salt no pepper nothing bland. French fries were Gordon food supply season fries out of a bag. I get that. coffee was lukewarm. 2nd cup of coffee took a while barbecue sauce asked for had a strange taste. Definitely wasn't bull's-eye or something like that. My wife ordered chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes with canned corn. Obviously the creamy broth was out of a can too. Never was talked to about the pies. Would you like a slice of dessert? We have great pies no suggestive selling presented the check kind of handed down a box for the tenderloin. No here you go no nothing just dropped it and left. Not the warmest experience I've ever had Granted I don't need somebody to kiss my butt, but I don't see this place making it from 0 to 5 the food was at one the wait attention was a three. There is nothing even average about this place. I hope they're happy taking my buck 50 for the credit card charge which I don't really care about the buck 50. I just can't believe I'm not worth $1.50 to a business with a $30 check I have owned businesses before and when owners think so cheaply in the fashion, you know they cut corners. Even the red gold ketchup seemed water down. Nice logo nice sign don't waste your time to think I've been looking forward to coming here for a month. I feel sorry for these owners competition is way too stiff now in Anderson. My suggestion would be cut that menu to about eight great items. Have fresh brew tea available for iced tea, lemon slices, etc. get bigger coffee cups and talk the place up like I said too much competition here now hate to say we won't even attempt to come back. Good luck I hope you make major changes.

We were greeted with exuberance and enthusiasm, and told where we were going to be seated and who our wait staff would be. At the same time we were asked what we wanted to drink, and if we were happy with our seating arrangements! In moments we had our drinks and asked if we were ready to order! All of our menu questions were answered without hesitation. They were very friendly and accommodating to my dietary restrictions, and also gave great examples of other choices that were available to us. The food was served fairly quick and hot, and it was delicious! As for the atmosphere, it was a very pleasant and friendly hometown feeling! We will be back!

Visited this fine establishment today, had the perch dinner, not only was it fried to perfection, it was perfectly seasoned. The waitstaff were very attentive, the ambiance was very cozy, if your in town you must give this hidden gem a try, you won't be disappointed it was an hour ago I'm still too full to tackle my leftovers
