Just a quick review for this place, because they're closing at the end of the year and I don't want to invest a lot of time in a review that's going to be obsolete in two months. But you should go snatch up your vintage tiles, dirty windows, election buttons, business stamps, used toilets, and other random things while you can. It's called "Another Fine Mess" and it lives up to its name.I could probably spend an entire day looking at all of the random piles of treasure and junk. It's just amazing what you'll find here.

This place is fun to browse and search thru, even if you don't have a particular need in mind, like for a door, pencil box, or salvaged stained glass window. I don't. I just like to look at the stuff and shoot the shit with Tim if he's around. He's a local, state, and national treasure. This place just makes me feel sort of at home and I'm not sure why. I like old stuff and they have old stuff, reasonably priced.

If I could give more stars I would! Anything you need for your old house is here. Magnificent salvage, including wood trim, doors, lighting, door knobs along with old toys, artwork. Could stay there all day. Very helpful staff.

There's not a mess in this place, but there's definitely not a better salvage shop in town. These guys see the value in the stuff today's contractors toss away, and they procure and preserve it lovingly. It's the most organized place I've been in, with rarities priced reasonably to help anyone restore a historic home. As expensive as old home repairs can be, it's nice to have a spot in town that supplies some of those hard-to-find trim pieces and hardware elements that they just don't make anymore. The best part is they know their stuff, and can help you find pretty much anything you would want or need. If you're like me, you'll get a bit addicted to it, trying to collect matching sets to replace all the builder-grade crap from hardware superstores that you wished had a story and a personality. Well, it's all here, at a Another Fine Mess.

If you're restoring an old home or are searching for vintage additions to your newer home, you should definitely check out Tim & Julie's. Doors, knobs, light fixtures, furniture, trim, stained glass...this place has SO MANY unique finds. I truly enjoyed exploring the whole store & really appreciated that the owner took the time to answer my questions and see if I needed help.

I went in thinking this may be another antique store (per Yelp listing), but it is really more of a salvage/restoration piece store. After street parking, I entered and found the place to be filled from floor to ceiling with all kinds of salvaged goods. The aisles are narrow and because the stacks go so high, it was a bit dark and gloomy wandering through. The people who worked here were friendly and offered to help, but I was browsing since I had been by here numerous times and decided to stop in when they were open for Small Business Saturday. They do have lots of hard to find pieces. Maybe you need some unusual thickness wood to match a damaged door frame. Maybe it's a column to add support or replace what you had. Door knobs and other accessories of architectural / functional nature are also spread throughout. So, if you are looking for salvage items, you will probably lean towards a higher rating. But as the owner of a relatively new home, there wasn't a lot here to hold my interest.Note that they do have a large space outside that I believe you can find yard items as well.Review #3367

This place was so wonderful. The owner helped me figure out exactly what I needed and a perfect match to existing doors. Prices reasonable and they know the history of Indy architecture so well. Highly recommend to anyone living in an old home.

Junk. I was in the area, love Midland, there are some best little shops in fountain square and tried this. What a joke. A narcissistic little nasal voice filled the store and talked and talked about themselves, my wife was stabbed by a rusty nail and there are no clear walkways and nearly tripped three times. Just a lot of cheap repro or old unstable corkboard and pine pieces of furniture that look like they found them on the curb. Love sobro vintage furniture and mercantile 37 for anyone not trying to bring cockroaches and bugs home from the owners trash pile.
