How had I never been in the Stutz building before this event?! The car-factory-turned-arts-hub is unique for sure. The hundreds of rooms are rented by local artists and makers who use the space to elaborate on their art and/or host classes for the public. This event allows you to explore the whole plus. Add on the twinkle lights, fun crowd, and wine for an all-in-all great and funky evening. You can buy art, explore the interesting venue, or talk with local makers. Several of the artists also have classes throughout the year which is always interesting to learn more about. If you've never checked out this event, you definitely should to have your eyes opened to an artsy view into Indy!

Ok, how do you get into this place? I had that question for a long time but thanks to some Yelp reviews and maps I finally figured it out. Here's my insight:This is for entering the complex from the south. There are two "alleys" that intersect each other at a right angle. The first alley is off Capitol close to 10th Street. It has an iron gateway which is easily identifiable. The other alley is off 10th Street. This one looks like it just dead ends into a garage door and it does, but that also where it intersects with the first alley. There's a small door next to the garage door which is the entrance. After entering you go through the door on the left to get to the main hallway. Wow that was a long way to explain entering the building, but once you know it's really simple. So... I went to the Holiday open house in December and it was amazing! The artists said the April one is even bigger but this was fantastic in its own right. There's 4 floors of artist, live music, food, and classic cars on display. If you enjoy attending First Friday gallery events this is a must try!

The Magic in the Making event was my first and only time here, but it certainly was magical. I was so impressed with the art, the space, the music, the food. It was really special to get to interact with the artists and see their talent and passion on display. The atmosphere was everything, I can't wait to see what this space is like on other days.

My favorite part about art shows is that it can appeal to such a broad audience. The young. The elderly. The hip. The shy. The musically talented. The travelers. The ones that don't know much about art, but are at least curious about it. Art has its way of reaching each and every soul, whether you like it or not. What was neat about this event was that it was basically an open house party. And by party, you better believe there was music, drinks and grub. I spent most of the evening by the band, and boy oh boy was that an energetic space! A real sense of community swept through the halls of the Stutz Building as people shared their recent art finds and danced the night away.My personal fave was a piece I found on the fourth floor. It was a cat dressed in what appeared to be Renaissance styled clothing. Yes, that piece really spoke to me and if I had the funds, I would seriously consider making space for it at home.

A perfect place to go on a rainy Saturday or anytime you're interested in viewing or purchasing local art. The historic building is neat to explore along with seeing all the talent in our area. It was great to talk with local artists, enjoy some snacks and drinks, and view items for purchase. Will definitely be back for more art shows!

This was my first time attending the art show and it was a great experience! The ticket cost $16 if you did not preorder. They have free parking in their lots across the street which was perfect! It is a very old building with 4 floors to preview the art collection. Each artist had their own room to showcase. There was a little bit of something for everyone! Stutz cars are on the first level along with a restaurant and live music. The second and fourth floors featured different artists with lots of pieces to look at. There was a beer and wine stand on every floor but it is truly not necessary. Most artists had wine and snacks featured in their room. Free wine is always a plus! It was a great exhibition with many talented artists!

What a fun event! So many amazing pieces of art. Finger painting, photography, oil, mixed media, acrylic, even an exact knife was used! So much to see! I am beyond impressed by these artists and their talents! The music was jammin. There was a full band, violinist, and a guitarist. There were drinks and food for purchase (yum). So many cool vehicles to imagine yourself in, driving down the street, with the windows down! I even got to listen to Vince read me short stories! My favorite part was getting to chat with the artists about their pieces, inspiration, and time it took to complete their pieces.I'm glad I got to attend! I have a new appreciation for art and the artists that spend countless hours to make beautiful pieces! Thanks for sending me, Yelp!

Another great time at the Stutz. This was our first time back since last year. They do offer up a open house twice a year, but we missed the summer one. Lots of painters and jewelry here. The talent in these 2 categories is immense. Lots of visually striking paintings and stunning portrait painters. I saw spaces offering classes in finger painting and drawing nude figures. One space had dog portraits made from small bits of paper. While some spaces had sculptures available, very few were making or selling anything else. The tattoo artist space on the first floor is amazing. If I ever decide to scar my flesh, this is where I would go. Lots of talented staff. The Stutz is s a fun place to explore. Stretched out over 4 floors, huge cargo elevators take you from floor to floor. Stairs are around too and I have been turned around in here once or twice. On this night, staff were everywhere to make sure no one got lost.

Really enjoyed the Stutz artist show. There are many different styles of artists in the stutz building, and I enjoyed going to the studio. I would say that there was slightly more mixed media and contemporary styles of art, but there was still plenty of traditional styles too. It was neat to meet all the artists. I would definitely go again next year.
