This place has been on my list for forever and I'm so glad we finally took the trip today. It is on the 7th floor of Eskenazi hospital, and although it might be intimidating to walk into a hospital, it's not at all! This place is beautiful and spacious and there's an information desk right at the front if you need directions. 24/7 access and a 360 view of Indy, along with some beautiful plants and fruits and veggies, what a cool place! It was so peaceful and much larger than I expected. I've also heard some patients get to come help tend to the garden which is such a cool thing!I'd love to see the sunset from up here and definitely would come back with a picnic, date, or just to eat lunch by myself and enjoy the view! High recommend

The secret is out: Eskenazi Sky Farm is the perfect spot for a stunning skyline view of Indy.How to get there: Drive to Eskenazi Health, park in the parking garage, ride the green elevator up to floor 7, turn to the right, and BOOM. You're on the roof. Not just a roof, but a roof covered in plants that the hospital actually uses (very cool). There are benches up there that you can sit on and you can even bring food up there to enjoy. Why not?! It's free for the best view in Indy.

Such a precious hidden gem! My bosses made me aware of the sky farm earlier this week. We brought lunch from Duos to the farm in the sky. There are so many little plants growing on the farm. Rachel is the director of the farm and she was able to show us some plants and explain what the space is used for. She let us know that people undergoing treatment are able to take the veggies grown to their own homes. The dietician staff helps to show those checked into the hospital healthy ways to prepare the food picked from Sky Farm. So grateful that I was able to enjoy this hidden gem! Check it out for sure!

What an wonderful space to have in the city! It's even more amazing because it is on top of a hospital. I love that Eskenazi hospital has this urban farm right here for the public to enjoy.We visited during early spring, so the garden rows were a little bare. We saw asparagus peeking out of the soil, and tiny radish plants, and blackberry vines winding along the raised garden beds. I can just imagine what this garden will look like in the late summer!The kids we brought with us loved looking at all of the things growing in the garden. They also had fun just running up and down the rows, and looking at the city below them. The Sky Farm is seven floors up, so you get a great view of Indianapolis. A few notes to keep in mind: * You will need to pay for parking if you park in the public parking garage. It cost us $3 for an hour. * When you're on the first floor of the hospital, look for the green elevators and go up to the 7th floor. Exit the elevator and make a left, then look to your right: you'll see a bank of doors leading out to the Sky Farm.* It's stroller/wheelchair accessible (there's a handy ramp just outside the doors), although there are also steps. * There is no smoking. I saw a couple of derelicts not obeying this rule, which really makes me mad. No smoking, no smoking, no smoking!

Dear Sky Farm, I often review my favorite spots around the Circle City in my head so that at the drop of a pin I can tell a friend or colleague "my essential hit list" (as if everyone is hanging on the edge of their seat in curiosity. Needless to say, you've made the list Sky Farm. Above the hustle and bustle of the city is a working farm with herbs, cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, compost, flowers, and community space. An elevated urban haven, if you will. Open to the public 24/7 with some of the best skyline views in the land. If had a boatload of money to throw around, I would throw a load your way to sponsor a raised bed or two. Maybe three if I'm feeling crazy and extra-generous. Congrats on making the cut.Congrats on showing Hoosiers what you can do with a little sunlight and dirt.Love,Britt

What a hidden gem! Do yourself a favor and check out this gorgeous FREE and PUBLIC green space on the seventh floor of Eskenazi Health! Absolutely breathtaking panoramic views of the Indy skyline. I could sit there for hours and soak it in. Not to mention it's an Eco-friendly rooftop garden with a Sky Farmer who maintains the plethora of sunflowers, lush greens, and fruit and veggie plants. I saw bees and butterflies flying around on my visit! Three cheers for wildlife on a rooftop in a concrete jungle! It's open to the public 24/7 so there's no guarantee you'll be alone for peace and quiet but it's large enough you could find a little nook to call your own. Lots of modern looking benches to sit on! Parking is easy in the visitor parking garage. When you enter the hospital lobby from the garage, hang a left and go to the green elevators. Take it to the 7th floor and hang a right and you're there! Great little escape from the hustle and bustle!

So I went here at perhaps not the optimal time of year since things aren't sprouting... So my four stars is flexible.Let's see. Directions! Park in the garage. Take the GREEN elevator up to the 7th floor. Make a right (there is a sign!) and go on out and up to the sky farm. I was there for thirty or so minutes and somehow managed to avoid a parking garage fee... Weird.Anyway. You'll see this beautiful glass ceiling and a view of the city skyline to your left and a not as great view to your right.There are benches to sit. Ponder life. Sketch. Whatever you decide to do... And rows of the containers for the actual farm itself. It's open 24 hours a day... And I imagine the view is even better at night.Was not a bad way to spend the morning and I imagine I will be back.Such a neat concept and totally unexpected.

I love the Eskenazi Sky Farm at the end of the day. It offers great skyline views of our beautiful city and a tranquil environment to unwind from work. Not only are the city views amazing but I also liked the Eskenazi complex views. I had walked right by the water feature at the entrance but made sure not to miss it when I left. Had I not noticed its beauty from above, I might have missed this treat!Check out the urban farming growing here! Plants were thriving and offered lots of ambiance. Bench seating made the perfect place to stretch out for a little reading time. Nice restrooms available nearby. Everything accessible.Space is FREE to visit! Yes, FREE!! Parking in the visitor garage is also free up to one hour. Green elevators to the 7th floor take you right there.Grab some lunch or a picnic dinner to check this out. (I could spend hours using this as a reading spot.)

Really like the concept of the Sky Farm. The produce harvested at the farm is used at the hospital cafe, and the idea is to have more healthy options on the menu. The farm also provides a platform to learn about how food is grown and to interact with the product. As far as the space itself, the farm serves as a quiet space for patients and family members to get away from the hospital environment. Community members are also welcome to visit the farm, as it is open to the public.During my visit, i was amazed at the variety of items that were grown at the Sky Farm. Anything from fruits, vegetables, greens, and even flowers. I am no farmer but was curious if our climate can accommodate all the variety. The farm also provides a great view of the Indianapolis skyline, and has some space for small gatherings. The next time you are at the Eskenazi Health campus, it's worth a visit to check out the Sky Farm.

Previously a great place to photograph well-nurtured produce and flowers, and to relax and a place where I could take patients I was visiting for some fresh but no longer public-accessible. I was just there 12 months ago and it was awesome. Today, it's on lock-down, must have a ID badge to access :{
