We are so grateful to have The Rivi in the neighborhood. It's a great club for a lot of reasons. We love the pool in the summer of course, but there is so much more: the workout classes, the tennis clinics and overall the customer service is super friendly. While the club is older and there are improvements on the horizon-it's a friendly crowd and the location is convenient. I highly recommend anyone to come check it out and take a tour.

Oh the Rivy! I have such fond memories of coming here growing up. Great location , large pool, comfortable environment. I came here with a friend recently for a swim in the pool. And it's the same great big pool I remember from when I was a kid. The reception area looks the same as it did back when I was a kid. I was a bit disappointed to see the bottom of the pool was exposed concrete with many cracks having been repaired with white epoxy seams. There was crumbled bits of concrete on the floor of the pool that I accidentally stepped on and felt like I was walking on rocks (OUCH). The locker room was okay, somewhat maze like, and could use a face lift. I went to take a shower after my dip and it ran cold to scalding with no opportunity for adjustment in between. Such a great location and facility. With so many possibilities.

Disappointing. Looks like a apartment complex pool and for 3k a year, I expect MUCH more. You're not NYC. You're in Indianapolis. Check yourself, Rivi.

Needs to be remodeled. TooMany members, the pool is packed with little kids all summer. They will also raise your membership fee in the middle of your contract.

This is a hidden gem that we love. If only it didn't come with such a hefty price tag.

I had invited 9 (+ self) family members and a baby to the annual Easter Brunch that is held at the Rivi. I did invite another individual at the last minute since she did not have any family to celebrate Easter. I tried to call on the Sunday morning and no one was answering the phone. In the past there had never been a problem adding one guest. When entering the dining area, I asked that we add an additional person to our table. The host was sharp and said she must check with the Chef. She returned and said no we can't accommodate one more person at your table. When in fact there was room at the end of the table to add a person. The problem is they didn't have enough food for this event or chairs for seating. Unbelievable !!!!!The person I had invited was on her way so the only option was I would sit on the floor and entertain my great niece. Fortunately we had a end table. I did in fact promise that I would not eat or drink any food during the event.Basically this is poor planning and lack of experience on the Chefs part. There wasn't enough food for the guests and people kept waiting for additional food to be placed on the Buffet line. This is not the Rivera Club I remember at all. Our family had been members for years and always spent Easter at the Rivi. What a disappointment! I guess things have changed and we won't be planning more holiday meals at the Riviera Club. I only hope the pool facilities in the summer aren't disappointing.Response: The General Manager has refunded the Brunch and I will not longer be a member of the Club.

I bet you didn't even know this place existed. It's located on Illinois St. just north of the Canal. When you step inside, it's like you just time-travelled to the 50s or 60s. In those days, there were swim clubs and swim teams (not affiliated with a school). The Riviera Club has managed to survive this long because of their great pools. There are multiple areas for water activities. There are 3 (!) pools of different lengths for lap swimming. There's a pool for 3 waterslides and a basketball court. There's a pool for the diving boards. There's a couple pools for just splashing around. There's a kids' area for those under the age of 7.Safety is taken very seriously here as there are lifeguard everywhere. In addition to the water activities, there's also a snack bar, tennis courts, outdoor racquetball courts, a small fitness center and playgrounds. On the 2nd floor of the main building, dance classes are frequently held. They also hold special events/wedding/dinners there. The pool area day pass is $10. You can also buy annual memberships for unlimited pool usage.

I see in one review that they refer to it as the "club that time forgot". Apparently it has also been forgotten by the maintenance crew. If you want to experience the 70's, I suggest you buy tickets to a Styx concert. The price for this club, even with senior discounts ($2000 to sign up, $552/yr, and $600/yr for Maintenance/Capital Improvements) is completely out of line given the antiquated and lacking facilities and staff.

So very disappointed in the clubs choice to cancel the Fashion and Firearms event next month. "Our kind" is exactly who looks out for "your kind". I won't be attending anymore events here.
