I'll never play The Legends Golf Club again. The starter was very rude to me and my guest, his treatment of customers is not acceptable. I run a small business and if any of my employees ever spoke to a customer, the way we were treated by the starter, I'd fire them on the spot. I've played too many public courses and some fantastic private courses around Indy to ever have to put up with a rude starter, and I just won't accept rude treatment when I'm the customer. This starter didn't ask us to move our cart, he could have easily said excuse me sir, do you mind moving or even said "please", but NO, he skipped polite asking nicely or even asking at all and went straight to giving orders/ commands, demands telling us to move our cart and when I looked at him in disbelief as he came flying up to us, he then goes onto say: "I'll have your privileges taken away." The only thing I said to him the entire time he was barking orders at us was that I don't want to ever play here again. I told him our tee time and we left. I paid for 2 rounds on golfnow but that's fine at least golfnow gets something, I like to support good companies. So, I went home and picked up my son and we went to a different course to hit balls, chip, and putt and enjoy the beautiful day. I was happy I even had time to mow the grass so the day wasn't wasted. So many great choices for golf around central Indiana to ever waste your time and money going to The Legends Golf Club. I've got a few buddies with similar experiences here also with a mean / nasty range/ starter, maybe it's time they look into this and hire some new folks that treat Customers with a smidge of respect. I'll be 100% sure to tell everyone I play with in the two golf leagues I play in and the other league I sub in, as well as, my weekend group I play with about my experience at The Legends Golf Club, I think I have a complete email list also to all the members at Old Oakland Golf Club too from when I was a member there, but I doubt they'd care about a public course like The Legends, but I'll let them know too just in case. Play anywhere besides The Legends Golf Club is my best advice for every and All Golfers!

The course is nice. The owner is an asshole. If you can manage to avoid him, you'll probably enjoy your round.

Legends has the best practice facility for irons and drivers I've seen on the south side of Indy. Yes Smock has been deemed the "largest grass" facility but Legends always has usable grass and is not weeds and dirt like Smock. Ted and team do a wonderful job and very professional on setting up tournaments and outings. You get your bang for your buck on twilight hours.

It's a nice course that's kept in good shape. We paid $45 to golf, and I'd say that was appropriate given the quality of the course. I won't be returning, however. Neither will the three guys I played with. Our problem was that the course rangers were incredibly rude. Our foursome played the front nine in 2 hours and 19 minutes. Along the way, we let a speedier threesome play through. So, our front nine on a wet cart path-only day realistically took us about 2 hours and 15 minutes. That's not really slow, but we were told by rangers on the front and at the turn that if we didn't speed up, they would force us to skip a hole. We were a group of 40-somethings, but we were spoken to like we were teenagers. In fairness, we found everybody but the rangers to be friendly at Legends, but my group agreed that we'd rather spend our golfing money where we can relax and have fun.

Thank goodness there is a place for beginner golfers! It's not a fancy golf course but very practical for the budget golfer. Wider fairways ... The Morses are instructors, and they usually run a very inexpensive small clinic class in the spring for beginners. They have a new clinic building. The course gets high traffic but maintained. Typical beginners miss their responsibilities in course maintenance etc... Members are overall nice.

Extremely unfriendly staff. The course was very mid, not worth your visit. The staff closed the course at 4 pm on a beautiful Sunday because they were too lazy to work.

Was looking forward to playing this course...however I will likely not be going back. Closed upon the sight of rain AND at 4pm on Sundays in the middle of summer. Instead of letting guests wait out a rain delay in the clubhouse, they were very inhospitable and ushered guests out. The front desk staff was impolite and extremely insincere. Good course but not worth the money for the poor quality of service!

The club isn't very supportive of junior golfers. I took my junior golfer there to play a round and wasn't playing myself. They wouldn't let me drive my junior golfer in a golf cart unless I paid for myself to ride in the cart too.

Best course I've been on. Definitely a little pricey, however, it is a quality course for sure.

Not a bad course, but honestly, I can't really say it's good either. Not much character in the overall design. It's very vanilla, clearly not designed by architect who has original ideas of his own. Essentially every hole is just a very prototypical Midwest hole. By the way, don't let them fool you by calling the par 3 course "the Dye course". They named it after Pete Dye, but he had nothing to do with the design of any of the courses on the property!
