I have eaten lunch here many times with my father over the years. So many great things on the menu. Butterscotch pie always a favorite. Had my father's funeral reception here. Buffet style and the food was delicious. Prices were great. Atmosphere always fantastic.

One of the best places in Grant County to eat. The house itself is also beautiful. I always come here when visiting family in Marion. The service is always top notch and their specials are usually incredible.

I've eaten at a lot of places around the country, but the Hostess House is now one of my favorites!! The lady at the Quilt HOF museum asked us if we'd eaten lunch yet...and to hurry over here as they close at 2pm. I'm glad we took her advice. We're in town for the DCI event at Wesleyan College. The people in this town are so hospitable!! The mansion is gorgeous, the dining room so bright, airy, pristine. I had the turkey, Swiss, bacon sandwich with cranberry mayo on wheat berry bread...oh my...I'd go back in a minute! But the real treat is the house made butterscotch pie! You have to get lucky, we got the last two pieces of the day...mmmmm. There is a boutique upstairs...so many awesome gifts...I think my spouse is still up there!! Enjoy, a real gem!!

This café inside a mansion seems to be patronized entirely by retired women who gather to socialize (including playing cards) over lunch. My dining companion (male) and I (decades younger than the other ladies) stuck out like a sore thumb, but I enjoyed the experience. The lunch menu is pretty traditional all-American: he said his club sandwich was pretty classic, and my veggie lasagna was just like my mom used to make.

Took our daughter (who attends college in Marion) here to celebrate her 21st birthday. Beautiful historical place. Other than a private lunch mtg, we were their only customers! Waitress was attentive, but wreaked of cigarette smoke. Our food was abysmal, dry chicken breast, bland potato soup and chicken salad sandwich used canned chicken. Better off going to the only good Mexican restaurant in Marion!

I live in Ohio, but when I visit Marion several times per year, Hostess house is the first place I visit at lunch time. The setting is lovely and the menu is wonderful. The Friday buffet is always unique and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We visited the Wilson/Vaughan Hostess House since it is on the National Register of Historic Places and to see the work of Samuel Plato (https://www.in.gov/history/state-historical-markers/find-a-marker/find-historical-markers-by-county/indiana-historical-markers-by-county/samuel-plato/). In addition to the lovely setting, the lunch was delicious. And Peggy's Boutique is a charming little shop on the upper level of the house. I highly recommend visiting the home and enjoying lunch in this beautiful setting.
