I recently discovered my love for Greek food, so when I needed to find a place for dinner before going to the Olympic trials, I knew the Greek Islands was the perfect place. Located right outside of Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indy, it was a very convenient place for a quick bite before going to the swim meet. My mother and I decided to split a selection of appetizers in lieu of each ordering our own meals, and I think we made the right choice because we were able to sample many different traditional Greek dishes. I loved the gyro plate, especially the tenderness of the lamb meat and the refreshing cucumber-and-mint flavor of the tzatziki sauce. My mother ordered the Greek olives, and they were delicious on top of pita bread and drizzled with olive oil. We shared the Saganaki (flaming cheese), which I expected to just be a novelty, but it actually tasted very smoky and rich. I used it as a gyro topping and even tried some bites of it just plain! The only problem was that they were out of the lemon, chicken, and pasta soup, which my mother and I were looking forward to trying. Luckily, it wasn't that big of a deal because we still had lots of delicious food to make up for it. The severs were both very kind and attentive, and the service was efficient despite the restaurant being understaffed. I had a pleasant experience at the Greek Islands, and I am sure to be back for another affordable and authentic Mediterranean meal! Opa!

The owner was tending the tables and was fast, attentive and entertaining. He dared a member of our group to finish the half chicken, and fed him by hand the last few bits on his plate (to the laughter of everyone at the table). The food was exceptional! Very tasty, good portions and fairly priced. The resto is near the stadium and worth the trip. We'll be back for sure!

An AMAZING restaurant just south of downtown Indy. I ordered the gyros meal. It came with the meat, some veggies, rice, pita, a salad, and bread. The waiter was so friendly and he brought everything out in two courses. It was all really good. The salad and bread was surprisingly great. And the gyros meal was perfect. The rice was really good and the meat was tasty. It was a very filling meal. The inside of the restaurant is very nice. Kinda reminds me of the 90's. Overall this is a great Greek restaurant. You definitely need to try it. Great food. Friendly staff.

Saganaki was great. Opa! Tzatziki was a good paring with the Sananaki. Got the traditional gyro dinner and the Spanakotiropita. Both were very good. Portions were very generous and comes with a small Greek salad. So much food so we skipped on finishing the salads. But the best part of the meal was the Baklava cheesecake. Sweet and dense. We'll be back just for that!!!

At first impression, Greek Islands may seem like an unassuming Mediterranean restaurant. But it doesn't need any fancy bells and whistles because once you try the food and meet the people, you'll see why it deserves this five star review! The moussaka was amazing - it so well seasoned with the perfect layers of sauce, beef, eggplant, and potatoes. It was a generous serving that came with a nice house salad and bread to snack on before the meal arrived. My friends tried the chicken gyros and Mama Fofo's salad and enjoyed their choices as well. We had gluten free individuals in our group and the kitchen was able to kindly accommodate their needs with no problems, which always earns extra points in my book for inclusivity. The team was welcoming and attentive and all around seemed like good people. I truly hope Greek Islands continues to thrive and more people discover this local gem.

My partner and I came here on a Friday night for my birthday dinner. The service was great and so was the food. We had the Saganaki, Avgolemona soup, Greek Salad (Mama Fofo's Recipe), and Mezedaki Combo. The portion sizes were filling. The interior seems to not have been updated in a while but it is cozy. Great spot for a casual dinner.

As always the food was amazing... we got the Greek Islands platter with Moussaka and gyros, both great. Beans were delicious. They were SUPER busy because it was the night of a big concert but although our server was super nice he was pulled in so many directions that he never came to check on us after he took our order (another staffer delivered our food to us).

Without a doubt, this is my favorite restaurant in all of Indiana. The authentic atmosphere and food is what makes this experience amazing. We come here every year for my mothers birthday, and we never fail to have a great time. Jaime has been our server for the past couple years and she provides THE BEST service and experience you could imagine. If I were to have a last meal on death row, a full lunch from the Greek Islands will be the ONLY thing on the menu.
