The Great Greek Mediterranean - Carmel, IN

Friendly quick service of tasty no-fuss Greek food! I got the beef lamb gyros and made it a combo-- fountain drink and the lemon chicken rice soup. Combo side offers are plentiful, nice!! Fresh lettuce, red onion and tomato slices in a fresh pita with lots of sliced meat. The gifted baklava was delish-- they dress it up with almond slices and honey drizzle when they take it out of the counter top case. Bright clean and simple unadorned interior with pop-upbeat sounding Greek music for ambiance. Lots of windows will make this a good summer spot. I noticed several Greek guests both dining in and takeout, so it likely has gained their approval too. I'll be back to try the hummus and chicken!

I fell in love with this place over Door Dash when they ran a buy one get one free special. my kids love hummus so we always need more than usual 1 order. Chicken skewers are cooked perfectly and have amazing flavor/spice while remaining healthy. The hummus and eggplant apps are so yummy- again not drown in oil and closest I have come to authentic greek in Greece. The soup (lemony chicken) is not something I would normally gravirate to but another delicious add. All apps are a good size that could feed 4 smaller eaters or 2 big eaters. Greek salad is made with fresh romaine salad (not iceburg lettuce) and red tomatoes fresh feta. The tziki sauce has real cucumber shavings. The gyro is amazing and large. As important is when we actually ate at the restaurant we waited for a bit for the food. Beyond the apology he (maybe manager/cashier! comped an order to go as he knew we would take some home. I hear the baklava is really great but we were too full to get some!

I don't know why anyone would not write a top notch review of this place. The food is soooooo delicious!!!!! Absolutely incredible. The main meal and dessert is just incomparable!!! Wow! We've been there twice this week! Going back tonight for some baklava ice cream!! Let's GO!!!!

I rarely give 3 star reviews but my experience at The Great Greek was lack luster. As someone who is Greek and knows a good gyro- this is not the place to get an authentic gyro. My gyro was dry and some pieces were burnt. A good gyro meat spit should be juicy and moist....not dry and burnt. Unfortunately, I will not be back anytime soon. I will go to a local family Greek restaurant instead of this chain restaurant.

The service was great. I ordered takeout. The staff was very welcoming and kept me up to date on my order. The gyro plate was delicious. Portion size was perfect. The lamb was great. Rice pilaf for my side. Perfect. I will definitely return.

The gyro is delicious. The meat was good perfectly for my taste. It was done without being dry. The American French fries were hot, crispy, and crunchy, The pita bread was different than what Im accustomed to--not bad, just different. The rice pudding dessert is divine! I loved the creamy texture. It's a good-sized portion. It has a flavorful sweet taste. Next time I'll try the Baklava or the Baklava ice cream. It was a great first experience and I can't wait to visit again.

Was in the area and in the mood for Mediterranean food so stopped by The Great Greek Mediterranean restaurant. During my visit I ordered the Lamb Souvlaki w/ rice pilaf. The dish was a bit expensive for what it came with ($20). My food arrived roughly 10 minutes after ordering. The lamb was incredibly succulent, robust, perfectly charred and smoky while the rice pilaf was fluffy and aromatic. I would certainly come again to try their gyros which look amazing!

Good Mediterranean food! I got the grilled chicken souvlaki, which is marinated chicken breast on a stick. You get two of them. You also get to choose a side, and I chose rice pilaf. But apparently the rice pilaf wasn't ready when I visited (?!?) so I substituted for the feta fries. That was a good choice, as the feta fries were very tasty.The entrees also come with a small side salad and four triangles of pita. Honestly, it's a lot of food! I shared half and still felt completely satisfied.Initially, I was mentally grumbling because I didn't see baba ganoush on the menu at The Great Greek. How could a Mediterranean restaurant not have baba ganoush?! But then I looked at the menu more closely, and saw that they do offer melitzanosalata. This is also an eggplant dip, but with a different texture. OK! I'm back. I'll have to return and try the melitzanosalata, then.I ordered takeout to eat at home, but if you wanted to dine in, there are lots of tables and booths in the restaurant. I saw a small group put some tables together to eat together, so The Great Greek does accommodate small groups. This is a fast-casual restaurant, so if you're dining in, you order at the counter, then they bring your food to your table.

Good food and good service . Will be back . The chicken was good and so was the gyro meat platter ! Hummus was on point

I love this place! Excellent food, service has always been top notch. No complaints. I just haven't seen what the others are complaining about. I have been three separate times and have enjoyed it just as much each occasion. A large group went with me the first time. All trying different types of orders. No complaints. Our go to place for Mediterranean. Order their triple desert, Worth it, will need to share with one or two others.
