Visiting Richmond and IU East for a few days and this local gem was highly recommended and totally delivered!Three house sauces: mild, sweet, and hot . They are in the table and ready for your brisket, pulled pork and more! Brisket was tender and delicious.Casual environment and friendly staff. We heard there is music often. Would go back to check it out!

Passing through Richmond, IN area as we travel in our Coach. Stopped in for lunch. Had a crowd but not super busy. Good vibe inside with the Fireman decor. We sat at the bar... ROWAN was our Bartender. Very friendly young lady. This building is rich with history from 1860. I think the wall of badges, the pictures, murals & tin ceilings are very cool. Couple bar stools were on a fire hydrant.... Too funny. They still have the well worn fire pole... probably original. They are having music tonight. We ordered a brisket sandwich with coleslaw to split. Enough for both of us. Brisket was tender, moist and great with the sweet BBQ sauce on it. The Coleslaw was creamy and everything was delicious!! Definitely would eat here again.

In town for the eclipse, there was a healthy crowd enjoying lunch. Luckily the service was fine and got my meal. Here's the rundown:Brisket Sandwich: A lean cut that was on the dry side but full of smoky flavor.Cheesy Potatoes: The cross-cross of French Fries and Mac & Cheese taste profiles I didn't know I needed.Mild BBQ Sauce: It has a spicy, tangy, and peppery kick.Overall, a solid lunch option in Richmond's Depot District. I enjoyed my meal thoroughly- I wish I could give this a 3.5 rating, as I think it's right in-between a 3 and a 4 star.

Having attended seminary in the Richmond area, I've long been a fan of this part of the state. While seminary is now down, I find myself visiting here semi-regularly because of friends who now live in the area and a friend who serves as a pastor here. The Firehouse BBQ & Blues is definitely a preferred joint located in Richmond's historic depot district. It's a beautiful setting inside and out with a delightful patio, dog friendly, during better weather. In case it's not obvious, The Firehouse emphasizes both quality BBQ and live music (not just blues, though there's definitely a lot of blues). This is slow-cooked, wood-smoked BBQ. The menu emphasizes BBQ, of course, but there are other options including a pretty awesome pizza. You can get ribs, chicken, pulled pork, BBQ, beef brisket, tacos, wraps, smoked sausage, cheesesteak, a few appetizers, soups, some unique potato combinations, salads, and there is a kids' menu. There's also a handful of dessert options - I recommend the peanut butter pie. Delish. They serve Coke products and do have iced tea options. The Firehouse is closed on Sundays. They have live music pretty regularly - the website is a good source of info, though for truly current stuff you may want to check their Facebook page. Fun facts: This building really is a Civil War era building in Richmond and was a firehouse for around 70 years. The firehouse theme is throughout the building - Murals and memorabilia, including badges, actual firemen uniforms, and other nostalgic items. You've also got a lot of music-themed items throughout with blues items dominating and references to the former Gennett Records (which was based in Richmond). Is The Firehouse perfectly accessible? Nope. No historic building is for the most part, however, it's super easy to dine here and you can easily both dine and enjoy music here if you have mobility concerns (as I do). I did not try the restrooms and haven't necessarily gone around the place completely enough to give great detail.

Got outside my normal box and tried the Black and Blue- mixed greens, tomato, onion topped with brisket & bleu cheese crumbles.Wow. The tender shredded brisket paired with creamy yet tart eu cheese was interesting. The jalapeño poppers warmed me up and made the whole experience perfect. Our waitress was so attentive, great dinner!

I cannot say enough good things about this location. The atmosphere and service were fantastic both nights we visited. There is also live music in multiple places which we really enjoyed. The food, so so delicious, especially the potatoes! Really wish this location was closer to us.

Not bad. Prices are really good. I had the brisket. The crust had way too much black pepper. Like it overwhelmed the flavor. Meat was very tender. I will have to come back and try some other menu items.

What is there not to love about this place? My friend and I went here this weekend, as she highly recommended. There is live music, wonderful service, and even better vibes. The food was impeccable, the chicken and mac n cheese was to die for. Im from Indianapolis, but this bbq restaurant in richmond beats any restaurant in Indy by a long shot.

This is sub-par bbq. Bland, overpriced and relatively small portions. Ribs were rubbery with bland sauce. Save your money and time.
