Our daughter is graduating this weekend from DePauw university. We made a reservation for 2 rooms over a year ago. I feel bad that it took me this long to write a review. This is our 4th stay with the Doc's Inn and each stay was always amazing. The building is old and creaky but that gives it the charm. If you're looking for square and plum walls, perfect floors and doors this is not your spot. But if you want some old world charm and want to feel that you're living in your grandmother's doll house this is your spot. The furniture and china also match the overall theme. Most rooms still have a window air conditioner but we don't usually use them. On this trip our room has access to the 2nd floor roof deck. Some rooms have a king sized bed and others have smaller ones like full, so be sure to ask when you reserve. The staff are really awesome people. Katelyn and her mom are really so hospitable. It is such a pleasant stay and the conversations are great. Finally, these folks put the "breakfast" in bed and breakfast. So far we had a great rice porridge with a slice of roast beef, a green chimichurri, some sliced fried garlic, smoked tomatoes, and a fried egg. Our second breakfast was some smoked brisket with fried eggs. Then we had a homemade biscuit, bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and my daughter had the yogurt parfait. Also each morning there is always something fresh baked to nibble on. The food is amazing and we are always happy when we are smart enough to reserve early. As my youngest graduates we feel great pride and happiness but also a sense of loss for some of the great places, like docs inn, and the great people of Greencastle we will miss.

Overall we had a good experience. I think the owners are trying to get their ways figured out though. There are only 4 rooms and they are each unique and neat in their own way. The 3 on the top floor only had window air conditioning when we went (August 2023) but the Inn is supposedly going to have to have it installed by summer of 2024. (I say supposedly because I was also told it was originally going to be installed in July of 2023 but didn't ). The idea of each room having a private bathroom is a little misleading as the top 3 bedrooms have a bathroom but you have to leave your room to go into the hall to your designated bathroom. The staff was really nice and we enjoyed talking to them. A few other things that need improvement would be the food and offerings. The website states they stock their fridge with water, milk, etc. There was no milk at any point and I don't remember any creamer until the morning which was disappointing. Also, I got a text asking me about how many people we had and any dietary restrictions or issues. I let them know my party had 4 adults and one young child (age 4). It was requested that something be available for breakfast that's "kid friendly". Well we came down for breakfast only to find they somehow missed one of us and did not have anything kid friendly (other than super sugary pastries). When we got our 'plated breakfast", there was no room for any changes and we got 2 VERY thick pieces of break with a few slices of tomato, eggs, and piece of bacon. I asked- because they obviously have eggs and bread, could my daughter get a piece of french toast made instead. I was told NO- flat out without any reason. That was disappointing as we literally rented out almost the entire INN and the cook was still cooking up food so it wasn't like I was asking her to dirty her freshly washed pans. Plus- what 4 year old normally eats thick bread and tomatoes for breakfast? Thankfully we had some leftover pancakes from the day before in the fridge. We were able to reheat that up for her otherwise one of our guests (my daughter) would have been left without any breakfast:( Overall everything was beautifully decorated and the staff was mostly trying but there is still some work to be done.

This was such a pleasant experience for my daughter & I to have a weekend getaway! The beautiful 1890's Victorian home has all of the comforts, and would highly recommend any of the rooms. We stayed in the Landes room that offered a walkout balcony, and we chilled there one evening w/the string of lights overhead!Katie, the talented chef, made her all-fresh breakfasts each morning. Her egg creations, fresh scones, zucchini bread, and coffee made with freshly ground beans, made for a wonderful start to our day!Katie and her mother, Janna make you feel right @ home! We plan on returning next year, and make it an annual visit!

While on a girl's trip with my friends we stumbled upon a true gem. This historic Victorian home was absolutely beautiful. From the moment we arrived we were treated with warm hospitality and welcomed as if we were family visiting for the holidays. Chef Kate prepared breakfast each morning with fresh jams and pastries. Her Mom Janna assured us if we needed anything at all they would accommodate. We gathered in front of the fireplace with other guests and talked for hours. I would highly recommend The Doc's Inn if you're looking for that unique experience with a personal touch that you just can't get at a hotel. I hope to visit again some day.

Stayed 2 nights while in the area. This is an amazing place and we learned about the home's history that made it even more special. Enjoyed the breakfast and the accommodations. Extremely impressed with the focus on ease and hospitality from the time we booked until we checked out. Will absolutely stay again when traveling through the area.
