One of my new favorite places! I love the Avenue. A quaint coffee shop in Broad Ripple, you can enjoy the space as well as the menu. I enjoyed the Madame Walker coffee and the lemon blueberry coffeecake! Listen! Get here early because those muffins go fast! There's beautiful artwork hanging on the walls of prominent African-American figures that's very impressive. My favorites are the colorful portrait of Malcom X and the stone piece of Madame CJ Walker. There's merchandise to purchase like sweatshirts and candles. The candles smell amazing and are named for famous prominent figures in the civil rights movement. Check it out if you need a remote workspace as it's quiet and ample space. There's a small room that I'm sure could be used for a small private event. You will need to ask management about it. But nice to have an option.Great spot. Go check it out and see.

Cool vibe in Broad Ripple. It was a very chill environment and it's great to meet up with friends or for a meeting. I had a chai tea and a breakfast burrito. The burrito was huge and it's definitely worth the money. Staff was friendly and I loved the design. Parking is not ideal so I parked in the back of building and my friend parked in the parking deck across the street. If I lived in the neighborhood, this would definitely be my go to spot in the mornings.Highly recommend this hidden, Broad Ripple gem.

I've been on the hunt for the best brown sugar latte and I am so happy I stopped here. When I walked in the first thing that caught my attention was all of the beautiful black art work. They were playing r&b music that wasn't overwhelmingly loud which helped create the perfect atmosphere. Perfect for if you work remotely or want to relax with a coffee & book. Kate was at the register and was so helpful and friendly. Customer service was 10/10. I was interested in the D'Angelo but it was iced and I wanted something hot, she suggested that she could make me something similar and OMG it was so delicious, not too sweet & the perfect amount of brown sugar. It was also hot but not scorching so I was able to enjoy it immediately. I also had the cinnamon roll & it was literally one of the best I've ever had & I'm not exaggerating haha. I can't wait to visit and try more of their signature crafted drinks. I think I've found my new spot!

Stopped by here on my drive and wanted to check out local coffee places. Pretty good menu, I got the lavender coffee which I found a bit sweet (I asked for less sweet but then the lavender flavour wouldn't really be strong). Service was good, staff was friendly and coffee came out pretty quick. The inside was spacious and had some cool stuff to look at too. I give a 4/5 just cause I still need to try their coffee on its own next time.

Day #5 Indianapolis AdditionTwo of my favorite things in one place. Black Excellence and Coffee! The Avenue Coffeehouse is a Black Owned coffee shop in Broad Ripple offering a variety of beverages and food that reflects the beauty of melanin. Drinks like The Hampton Sisters, espresso, cookie butter, vanilla, and milk bring a fun and educational wonderment to its patrons.Walls adorned with original black art, classic R&B bumpin through the speakers creates an environment that is warm and welcoming for all! The gentleman that attended us today was working by himself in the busy cafe, but not once did it imped his commitment to providing excellent customer service! My Brown Suga Baby had the Madame Walker. Espresso, Ghana, Single Origin Chocolate & Caramel Sauce(made by Good Drinks, a brand that makes a variety of barista products with no high-fructose corn syrup) Pecan syrup, and milk. This drink had the mouth feel of a full bodied wine, that was not too sweet and you could actually taste all the flavors!I went with the Avenue. Their espresso, sweet potato pie sauce(yes! Sweet Potatoe Pie, not PUMPKIN!) Vanilla syrup, and milk. Smooth as Jazz!!I am so grateful that I get the opportunity to close out my Indianapolis trip at this stellar establishment.CHECK IT OUT!!

Beautiful, spacious shop with lots of tables and cozy seating, art from local artists, and nice staff. The very first seasonal drink on the menu sounded like it was made for me and didn't disappoint. My friend and I split a maple oat cookie which was fantastic too. We really loved our visit and are sad they're closing soon due to the building owners not leasing to them anymore. I hope to get a couple more visits in before seeing what's next for them!

The Avenue is a great black-owned coffee shop with an even better mission right in downtown Broad Ripple! The walls are dedicated to artwork celebrating black culture and are stunning! I am always looking for new flavors, so I tried "The Avenue" latte, which had sweet potato pie sauce in it! It was delicious and not very sweet (which is right up my alley)! My only critique was the parking situation was a little complicated.Definitely try this coffee shop out if you're in the BR area!
