The Alley Cat Lounge Front Room

Stopped in on a Thursday night for the steak special. The deal is 10% off on the three choices for steak. Pricing was already reasonable and so the 10% was a small kicker. I had the 12oz ribeye which was on the thin side but overall was a good steak. I expected a grizzly steak with a good amount of fat but it was on the leaner side for a ribeye and the whole steak was edible.My sides were fries(crinkle cut) and salad (a blen of iceberg and green leaf along with other veggies and cheese). Served with Texas toast.Overall a good value meal! Worth stopping for.The atmosphere was ok. A little stale and preppie. I believe they have another bar area which is divided by a wall, I cannot comment on that if so. Where I sat was more of a diner atmosphere with alcohol. Service was good

Most of us Broad Ripple Neighborhood OG's remember the Alley Cat back in the day, hidden away in the alley around the corner from OPT's. It was dark, definitely a late night bar, and was normally the place to grab your last beer of the night before heading home!Now, it is near the Post Office on Carrollton and has been rechristened as a real restaurant and bar with really good food and all kinds of trouble in good whiskeys, Bourbons, Scotches and Irish whiskys! I was there for St. Patty's day and the drinks were cold the corn beef & cabbage authentic and filling, and the camaraderie as cheerful and rambunctious as you would expect! I highly recommend!

Thursday Steak Night is legit!As in legit good steak! Perfectly cooked-to-order. Seriously, best steak I've had outside of home in quite a while.$15 also gets you two sides and a salad.I love The Cat. When you're young and rowdy, the Lounge is great to meet people, play pool, and get into a bar fight. When you're older, not likely to stay up late, and want a snobby draft beer, you come to the Front Room where you can hear your dining partner without yelling over the loud music.Have a drink while you wait but it is totally worth the wait!Long live The Cat!

This place knows how to make a classic cheeseburger! It was cooked to perfection, which is medium, in my opinion. It was juicy and flavorful, topped with American cheese. I don't know about y'all but there is something nostalgic about American cheese on a burger, it gives me all the good feels with its melty goodness. The crinkle fries were crispy and seasoned well. I'd also recommend starting with the fried cheese balls, I can't recall the exact name but know it's not the mozzarella sticks. These fried balls are filled with pepper Jack cheese and were so delicious! It's like fried queso, yum!! They offer a variety a beers on tap and have tasty cocktails. Their bartenders know what they are doing. I have to also mention how clean this place is. I didn't see one spec of dust and the bathrooms were immaculate. The Alley Cat FRONT Lounge is a completely different experience and vibe than The Alley Cat Lounge, which is more of a dive bar feel. We definitely plan on making this our go to when we are in the mood for a classic burger!

Unfortunately, I keep arriving after 10:30 and the kitchen is always closed but the drinks are good so I will continue to come back but it would be nice if they had someone sanitizing tables.

This used to be the "spot." I attended a few weeks ago and was a little disappointed... there are some major updates needed. The chairs are a little worn and I felt uncomfortable sitting down because of so much wear and tear on them. I get it, I'm in HR, and there are major staffing issues post-COVID, however, we were waiting to be acknowledged at the bar and it seemed the staff were overwhelmed with people so the customer serviced lacked a little bit. Drinks were ok. I have future hope for the pretty kitty!!! This is an indy gem and I want to see it doing well!

We love this place. John, the bartender, is wonderful!!! I think we go to see him as much as we go for the Thursday Night Steak Dinner. If you want to go to a small out of the way place with a down home atmosphere, this is the place.

Horrible customer service! Not once greeted, no one ever came to advise no one would wait on tables. If you aren't going to greet customers and advise how the establishment runs, why not have signs posted advising bar service only? We made eye contact with the bar tender, he still didnt greet our table. Instead he complained to the customers at the bar about how he was not pleased about splitting "his money ". I've come to this place many times the service gets worse every time!! 0/10 do NOT recommend
