My friend mentioned that Taste of China has been her go-to takeout spot and that I should give it a try. I don't think I've tried Chinese takeout since I moved to Indy, so I needed to make a move!I ordered takeout scheduled for 4pm pickup. I got the hot and sour soup, wonton soup, vegetable lo mein, shrimp fried rice, and mixed vegetables. I wanted to try several dishes to get a feel for their cooking style. My favorite was the hot and sour soup which was veggie-packed with daikon, carrot, bamboo shoots, and soft tofu. The soup itself wasn't spicy, it just contained chili flakes in the broth. The shrimp fried rice was also tasty and they definitely didn't skimp out on the shrimp! The rice wasn't too salty or oily. My least favorite was the vegetable lo mein. It wasn't necessarily greasy like most lo mein dishes I eat, but it didn't sit well with my stomach and felt like a very heavy/dense dish. The portion sizes are so generous and you definitely can't beat their affordable prices; I bought 3-4 days worth of food for less than $50. I arrived at the store at 3:50 pm to pick up my order and it was ready within minutes. The woman at the register was welcoming and made sure to pack my order so it was safe for the drive home.

I was wanting to try another entree and would have to travel a few miles out of my way. Ordered takeout of C36 - steamed chicken w/veg and no water chestnuts, chicken fried rice w/o peas, fried veggies egg roll, and no sauces on the side for $9.76. The meal hit the spot, but I wonder what typically comes in the fried rice besides meat and peas.

Taste of China is a GO TO PLACE for Chinese. It is def. A hole in a wall type of feel, but very clean and sanitary. We have never ate in there but my interaction with the staff has always been friendly and respectful. They also offer family means that are reasonably price which is a plus AND A STEAL! Love taste of China and def. Recommend them to anyone.

Taste of China is my FAVORITE place to get Chinese food! I've been coming here since 2018. They have THEE BEST chicken wings and Shrimp in Lobster sauce. I always receive great customer service and the food is always ready within 15 minutes of me calling. They have pretty good pricing as well!

I used to love this little place. It's been over six years since I used to frequent this establishment and six years ago this was a warm inviting establishment. In the past they were very friendly. Not anymore. I was met by the most rude individual. Mind you, I almost never write anything derogatory about any establishment; my philosophy, if you can't say nothing nice, say nothing. But not in this instance. I just can't get past the rudeness. I had to leave. Which is a shame because I remember the food being one of the best Asian restaurants in the area. I'm so disappointed as I was looking forward to their food all day. Now clueless as to where to go.

In the area and spotted this for a quick lunch. Very sparse customer business. I ate in & observed only 5 others - all small orders for carry out. The hot & sour soup was probably the best I've ever had. Piping hot with lots of tofu, onion, carrot, daikon?, & mushroom. Savory and just the right heat. The Hunan pork was just so-so. Not very spicy and, though the sauce was well flavored, not sufficient to provide a pick me up for the fairly bland fried rice accompaniment. I'm always confused by the requisite Chinese fortune cookies which are not a Chinese thing.

[COVID takeout review]Overall: A typical yet great option for Chinese takeout during the pandemic. The good: We ordered a large amount of takeout for our family and it was ready within 30 minutes (it was a lot of food), so they are definitely speedy in that regard. Online ordering was a breeze and there are a TON of options to choose from, so anyone can find something they like. The portions are huge and you'll definitely have leftovers, so the prices are well justified as well (not that they're that expensive). The food itself is pretty typical of what you'll find at a lot of Chinese takeouts in the area, but that doesn't mean it's bad by any means. The fried pork rolls were amazing- crispy and stuffed with goodness, as were the crab rangoons and potstickers. The majority of the family all loved their respective meals (see below for ours), and everything was still hot when we got home. The not-so-good: We were expecting the sweet and sour chicken to be a stir-fry of fresh chicken and veggie goodness but instead got fried bites of chicken that you pour the sauce on top of. The end result was a pile of somehow still dry pieces of fried chicken on top of white rice. Also, a minor detail, but we didn't get chopsticks for our to-go boxes.

Food is always good. For takeout they pack everything so well: Been getting food from this restaurant for years and it is the best I've found. Reasonable prices also. Their crab ragoon is so good.
