Okay, this is my 2nd review on Takumi.I love this little spot. It is so good. The food, the atmosphere and the people! Love the whole experience. Both my kids went with me this time We all had ramen and boba tea. Excellent! I had the garlic ramen. I forget the name of it.. but it was black garlic base- so freaking delicious. IF you love garlic you will love this ramen. The service was awesome as always. Staff was so very friendly and very informative! Let us know what each ramen broth was and gave us suggestions. Told us what the most popular broth is and drink as well! I definitely recommend giving this place a try. You'll be back for more!

Cute decor in the shop. The shop is set up where you order at the counter and take a seat. Staff were very friendly and service was good. The food was a little lacking in depth and flavor. I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen and the spice paste comes separate so you can add as much as you want. The noodles have decent chew to them. I appreciate the low sodium option for the broth--so it wasn't too salty but it was not super flavorful. They also add cabbage and corn which is non-traditional and personally not my preference for Japanese ramen. Egg was cooked perfectly jammy, but again could use more flavor. Good for a quick bite, but definitely not the best ramen I've had.

I wasn't too sure what to expect from Takumi and it was so Soo delicious! It's counter service and the folks working there are very good at answering any and all questions you might have! I met a friend there for lunch and there was no rush to get us out the door. It's a great place for a quick or slow meal and I felt very comfortable just hanging out with my friend and catching up. I think it would be a great first day place for boba tea or just a nice place to grab a meal. The fried chicken was hands down my favorite thing. It was so good and I'm sure will probably unfortunately be a new craving for this pregnant lady. Anyone want to go get ramen with me soon?

Brown sugar boba milk tea. It's already not too sweet. So I would recommend not going lower than 75%. Their milk teas are non-dairy. The drinks are very customizable, ice, temperature, sweetness, toppings, and other add-ons.They have 6-9 tables plus counter seats. Service is quick and employees are friendly, answering questions.

I was back visiting in town and I had to stop by my favorite boba place here. The Soy Milk Tea with soy pudding and boba (50% sweet) was perfect! The boba was soft and chewy, and the soy pudding was tender and hit the spot. I have never been able to find a boba place that offers soy pudding, so this is definitely a unique feature! The soy milk was also the Chinese-style, so you can taste the soy and doesn't have the strange mouthfeel that Western soymilk has. I also had the Fruit Combo Green Tea with boba and mango star jelly (50% sweet) and the drink was so beautiful! There's slices of fresh fruit at the top, and the mango jellies and boba at the bottom so the drink is filled with color. It's super refreshing tasting and something I would get again if I wanted something lighter than milk tea.I had the Tonkotsu Mayu Ramen, and my partner had the Pork Katsu Curry Rice Bowl. The ramen was overall pretty good. I thought it was a bit too salty, but I saw that they offer a low sodium version so I would spring for that next time. The noodles were perfectly springy and chewy, and the marinated half egg was cooked so that it had that delicious jammy egg yolk. The sliced wood ear mushroom wasn't marinated in anything, which was a lost opportunity to add another layer of flavor in addition to texture to the dish, but I thought it was ok given the salty broth. The cabbage was tender and wasn't sulfurous at all. I loved the slices of tender pork belly on top-between slurps of noodles I would take bites of rich pork to change it up. I would get this dish again if I happened to be here for a boba run and was hungry and wanted a hot bowl of noodles. As for the pork katsu curry rice bowl; it has perfectly cooked medium-grain rice as a resting spot for the crispy katsu. I did find the katsu a little dry, but this was easily remedied by dipping it into the curry. The curry itself seems to be from a mix, but it's prepared well with chunks of carrots and other vegetables. I usually skip the pickles served on the side of the dish, but I tried these ones and they're so good! I would probably try something else on the menu next time, but I don't regret trying this solid rendition of this dish. Overall, I see myself definitely returning here the next time I'm visiting the area!

I was driving by and saw they was having a grand opening sale buy 1 get 1 50% off. Just got something to drink but it smelled really good in there! Would definitely have to come back to try to the food. Our drinks are addicting hard to put down after the first sip! The inside decor is very nice with anime and Japanese style around. It was very clean and they do have bathrooms which are clean! The service was nice. The front counter guy was very informative on what they offer and respectful.

My friend wanted to try this place out so we did!The good: the owner was making boba (tapioca balls) when we got there so the smell was so delicious. We didn't think about getting boba, but changed our minds after smelling the sweetness of the boba. I liked my Strawberry Matcha and my husband had the Taro milk tea. The boba was delicious, soft, and had just enough chewiness. But my husband did say there was too much Taro powder because towards the end, he felt all he could taste was the powder texture. The Ramen was good too, we got less sodium, though, it was still a bit on the salty side. The service was good - everyone was friendly. They bring the food out to your table. They have a kiosk you can order from, or at the counter ad well. The decor is also very fun to look at since I recognize a lot of the characters on the wall. Some things we would recommend though, is, my friend had a cheese foam drink and it'd be nice if they had sipping lids. She wanted to drink the foam with the liquid drink together, but since the foam is on top, and the cups are designed with a straw hole, she had to pull her straw up to drink/eat the foam. Will try again!

I ordered the katsudon pork bowl and it was perfect. Well cooked onions with the sauce coming through the eggs and the pork. As someone who just moved to Indiana, it was great to find a good Asian place to eat at.
