Love the atmosphere and vibe of the place, I always enjoy Taku's food, they have so many options! Service is alright, everyone is very nice and accommodating. The Mojitos are fantastic 10/10, Godzilla Roll 10/10 had so many different flavors! The Chicken Katsu 3.5/10 I wasn't so impressed with, like it's good but it's not almost $17 good lol I will say. Lots of other things I could say since I've been here many times but I would recommend Taku if you're just a curious person who likes to try new things or likes Japanese cuisines, I always try something different when I come here and almost always I love the dish they bring out.

Charge 18% tip on a 3 meal ticket because we sat with our family. Food was ok, service was slow, cook was good. Could have had better food and service at Panda Express and at a 1/3 of the price

I'd heard mostly great things about Taku for a few years and was really looking forward to this visit. At first glance, it seemed like a nice location with exceptionally cool and interesting modern decor. We were seated pretty promptly. At first, we were placed at a hibachi where others were already sitting, but they moved us to our own empty grill. Seating and place settings cramped. Dirty looking carpet. It was near the grill so I let it mentally slide as I got situated. Our salads were probably the best part even though there wasn't much to them other than iceberg & I'm not entirely sure what was in the dressing. Possibly dairy. I didn't think to ask because it was described as ginger dressing. I assumed it would be vegan. The miso soup was little more than broth with a few pieces of what I suspected was browned onion (odd!) and a couple flecks of green. No tofu.My companions had the filet and steak and shrimp with rice and noodles. They were happy with it but being regulars said they could tell the grill man was in a rush and didn't cook their rice as long as in the past and didn't add seasoning. He performed some showmanship that was exciting at first but then also terrified a baby at our table by spraying "baby sake" in her face when she was already shaken up from the large flames. Seemed out of line when her mouth wasn't open and she's too young. I'm not sure why he grilled broccoli only to throw most of it away after tossing two pieces in one guest's mouth. The first piece missed the target. My vegetable Maki, sans cucumber at my request, was edible. Presentation lacking. Very little wasabi and ginger. Less roll pieces than I'm accustomed. The dot of wasabi on my plate as well as what was in the plastic cup I was given when I asked for more was obviously old. It was crumbly and resembled dry Play-Doh. Vegetable tempura was okay. Not as much of a variety, portion, nor flavor than other places in this area. Tempura presentation better than rolls. Wish it'd had mushrooms. One tiny piece of zucchini with a little broccoli. Heavy on onions and sweet potato. Soy sauce leaked everywhere trying to dispense it. Server no help when I brought it to her attention. It shouldn't gush down the side of the vessel. I asked for more napkins and cleaned the table myself. We each had received one paper napkin until I asked. We had a hostess (two at first), a server, a grill chef, another grill chef who stopped by to mess with my to-go box, and a manager. We arrived an hour and a half before close on a weeknight. Long before an hour had passed, I felt extremely rushed. Food out too fast and inelegantly shoved in front of me amidst what I was still eating. The server actually asked me to sign the check I hadn't requested a half hour before close when I apparently didn't address the book in front of me fast enough. It was a rudeness I've never experienced anywhere before. I regret tipping as much as I did. Had we been able to relax and enjoy as well as converse, eat, and drink at our pace, she would have received considerably more. I barely had a chance to read the bill with her over my shoulder. I would have liked at least a little bit of a moment to review it and ponder and figure the tip on my own. To-go boxes forced upon us while we were eating and had not asked for them. Second grill guy grabbed my empty to-go box off table/hibachi edge asking if it was mine and handed it to me as if I was not moving at the speed he'd like. Then a female manager asked if everything was okay, if we wanted refills. In hindsight, I should have ordered another beer and said we'd be a while. She blew off my saying I felt rushed. I let her know the server was wanting the check & she took it. All unprofessional attempts masked as half-baked hospitality to rush us out the door when we had another 30 minutes before closing time and obviously weren't through with everything. On the way out, I noticed how disgusting all the glass windows and doors were. I left feeling grungy and disappointed. Ambience was deceiving. At home I noticed I was charged for an extra side we didn't order. I'm glad my companions enjoyed themselves, but the experience was really absurd overall. I highly doubt I would return. Far better Japanese food for MUCH better prices elsewhere in Kokomo. If I wanted hibachi badly, I'd go to another city. I was expecting something more on the upscale side, especially when paying over $100. I'd rather dine at a hole in the wall or grocery store. What a joke in the end. I don't even want to know if the health code violations I'd heard are true. I wouldn't doubt it after what I saw. As a former hospitality and restaurant worker, I understand wanting to go home, but others were still dining and they indeed close at 10:00. Overpriced rudeness and filth is what I will remember.

Visited Taku for the first time. I only had sushi spicy tuna roll, and yellowtail and shrimp nigiri. Everything was very good and the prices were great. Restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, I was told the remodeled a few years back. Service was very good, the bartender who served us was great to deal with. I will return.

The food is delicious and it's fun at the grill but yesterday I went there with a friend for her birthday dinner and I had 2 kids with me as well as them having one as well. Our cook was fun but he kept throwing food at me after I tried catching one piece I wasn't ready for more but he kept throwing it at me. Then the cook comes for the table behind us (connected) and he starts to have fun with his crowd shouting things like yeah sexy daddy wants it in his mouth, and repeating sexy daddy my kids definitely thought it was uncomfortable. I'm not sure why people have to be so sexual I mean we see it enough in movies, TV and the radio. Food is always great but the environment is definitely questionable...
