Sweet Escape Cake Company

Our family became obsessed with "Is It Cake?" on Netflix a couple of weeks before my son's birthday, so I decided to look into getting him a nicer cake for his birthday. With it being too late to order something custom, I was thrilled to find Sweet Escape has in stock items that you can preorder for same day pickup. I got a cake shaped like a Minion (the closest I could find that looked like something that wasn't clearly a cake in a flavor he would eat - the polar bear stole my heart but the birthday boy doesn't love chocolate cake) and some cake pops for his basketball team. First things first - the cake pops are OUT OF THIS WORLD good. Ten stars if I could. My wife--who is very picky about her cakes--wants a birthday cake of whatever the cake pops are made out of. For the big cake I may have done myself dirty - we didn't eat it until Wednesday and I picked up the cake on Monday, and it was a little dry and not as flavorful as I had hoped, especially after the cake pops. But given the quality of the cake pops and timing, I'm taking responsibility here and not removing a star for it, just sharing for anyone thinking of going two days early for a case cake -- maybe don't do that.I will absolutely give the cakes another shot for our next birthday, or be smart and plan ahead so I know I'll get what I want. But from having the last minute option, being able to order day of online to save a trip, and the super friendly and quick service, this passed the test.

I placed an order for 36 dozen cookies online and had my assistant pick them up for me, so I cannot speak to the ambiance but can testify to the taste and service. While they slightly goofed the order, I have to say, Scott and his team went above and beyond to make it right. The cookies were ordered as a "holiday gift" for those we work with... plus a few for our office staff as well. The cookies were delicious, individually wrapped and easy to share with customers and partner companies. I would absolutely order from Scott's bakery again.

Sweet Escape Cake Company is hands down THE best bakery for cakes in central Indiana. The first cake we got was for my grandson's baby shower and we have ordered a cake every year for his birthday ever since. He's three now and they have all been fantastic. Everyone raves about the design and the taste. The prices are on par with other good bakeries, but Sweet Escape Cake Company's cakes are above and beyond what others offer in Indy and surrounding areas. 100% recommended them for your next event. You won't be disappointed! Make sure you order early, though, because their schedule gets filled up fast.

I communicated with Scott for about 2 emails and decided that while others are very pleased with their products, I will not be using their services (and he could not care less if I do or not) I'm going to guess he's not the one making the cakes, so maybe they need someone else doing the communicating. He did direct me to compare his reviews to St. Elmo's though lol

This is our second time ordering from Sweet Escape and we hope it won't be our last! Placing the custom order was quick and easy, and our cake and cookies turned out exactly how we wanted. The staff is also always very nice and welcoming! Could not recommend this place enough.

Amazing service! Overall, our wedding cake came out gorgeous! Literally my dream cake and it was perfect. Super delicious and omg I don't know how many but we got so many compliments from guests on the taste of it and look! We ordered a vanilla cake with raspberry preserves as filling! Almost couldn't stop eating so much of it haha! Def will be ordering my cakes here from now on.

Sweet Escape was so wonderful to work with! I emailed them and got an immediate response that was full of enthusiasm. They linked me to a form to fill out with the details of my order. I quickly got a quote that I thought was a great price and paid in advance. I paid extra for delivery and their team texted me when they were on the way to drop off the cake. The entire process was very smooth and our cake was super cute. My only instructions to them were that we were having a "western themed birthday party for a person who had just won Yelp's Servies award and that I wanted the Yelp logo on it." It was such a random combo of requests (LOL), so I really appreciate that they ran with it and put it all together in such a beautiful and cohesive way. While I didn't get to taste it since it was a gift to Heather at Smok'n Crew Barbecue (who won #1 server in the USA according to Yelp votes - eek!!!), I can only imagine that it was amazing. All of their flavors sounded amazing and I chose the birthday confetti option. Thank you and I'll definitely use y'all again in the future!

10/10/10/10 it's amazing I can come and pick a cake out of the case that is beautifully decorated for when I need it. The cakes taste amazing.Their custom creations are beautiful and they are always so kind when I enter the store .

Utterly disappointed. I made it abundantly clear in my quote description that we did not want buttercream icing (the birthday person hates buttercream). Low and behold on the day I receive it it's completely ROCK hard buttercream. While we love the design, the birthday person eat around the icing since of course they don't like buttercream. We also got strawberry mousse on the inside, which is just a very small amount, and you don't even taste it to be honest. I can see why you have to pay first and don't even get to see the final product before pick up, because if I was able to it would've been a refund. If you like buttercream and being charged $78 for a small cake, this is the best place for you.

I had a terrible experience with this company. I was sent 2 emails regarding a quote and there was no option to pay. Stating a read an email however I chose to ignore it. Stated in the email I received "I've been canceling 12-15 unpaid invoices per week due to the high command"This is so disrespectful, stating I needed to take more responsibility my order. Some do not understand the pressures of trying to plan for a wedding not only having to pay thousands or hundreds of dollars. This company is not an option to go with.
