"Eat Proud" is their motto, in true Philly mentality. The crew here was we versed, patient and friendly with lunch guests. They have a full sandwich menu, I went with small Grand escape and Fries and was pleased with portion and speed. Steak is done right. I am sure there are more custom options than I speak... but they have them covered. I added banana pepper. Bread was right, steak was right, cheese was right... I will return. Thanks.

After seeing great reviews, finally made my way to Steak Escape for lunch. This little sub shop was bustling with customers at 11:30 am. They offer local workers a 10% discount if they are in uniform or show ID. (My grandma uniform did not count.) The staff is friendly and patient with first timers. I ordered the Bourbon and Bacon Cheesesteak with Loaded Fries. I really didn't need the fries, I was just curious. The Bourbon and Bacon Cheesesteak was good! The bread was chewy and delicious. The steak was tender and juicy with the cheese totally melted. The steak was covered with sautéed onions and topped with a sweet bbq sauce. Lettuce and tomato added freshness. I loved it. The loaded fries are loaded. They serve a generous bowl of fries smothered in bacon and cheese. The fries are fresh cut, but a little soft. The dish is decadent and your cardiologist will not approve. The dish is sharable. The dining room is clean and comfortable. There is plenty of strip mall parking.

So while my partner and I were out and about we happened upon this place and thought we would give it a try. It's literally one of those places that you would miss if you blinked and probably more of a local spot. It's a hole in the wall but clean and unassuming. The staff were nice and friendly and were open to questions. We didn't know what to expect but let me just say the sandwich was yummy and flavorful - it definitely exceeded my expectations. If you want a good cheesesteak sandwich, check them out! I think, like us, you'd be pleasantly surprised!

Staff here is friendly and fast. Cooked in front of you. Love the Philly Whiz (the Whiz is pretty rich). Coke products. Cherry Coke . Fresh cut fries! Never had anything I didn't like from Steak Escape.

Thank the maker for the Yelp app. It is so useful in finding a good place to eat when you are unfamiliar with the neighborhood. You can drive down the road and choose a place based on its appearance or find out what other people think before trying a new place. This place wasn't crowded for lunch but there was a steady stream of people picking up previously ordered sacks of lunch; always a good sign. I ordered the small Grand Escape sandwich but held the mushrooms and added lettuce, tomato and mayo. Absolute perfection in a cheesesteak sandwich. I want to eat here once a week please. The restroom is single serve, pleasantly fragranced and stocked with paper towels and soap. Parking is in a shared lot with plenty availability.

Excellent steak sandwich- bread was fresh and chewy. The steak was flavorful and appropriate portions.We will definitely order the sandwiches again. We also ordered a side salad which appeared to be about 2 cups of a bagged salad, complete with wilted lettuce and no flavor. It's a sandwich shop- I should have known. The salad dressing was missing from the order as well. The Cajun fries were also a "meh" soggy but with a generous serving of cheese.We would recommend the sandwiches and delivery was quick.
