My wife and I have stopped in here twice now while running errands in Monticello. The ambience is awesome with the dining room overlooking the water, and you can even opt to sit outdoors when the weather is nice. The food is pretty good, but honestly it wasn't amazing, fairly standard American food. The service was fast and friendly.

I haven't been here for a regular sit-down meal or the bar, but I did come here for a wedding. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the pretzel sticks and potato skins. The drinks were pretty great too (I wasn't a huge fan of the cosmo, but it was pretty, and the Long Island was the best I've ever had). They have a huge variety of drinks and food for everyone. I enjoyed my chicken parmesan, but there were several other items I wanted to try.Overall, this is a nice place that looks great for the bar and regular seating, and is definitely great for parties with a nice waterfront view.

I was so excited to try the Sportsman Inn for Mother's Day, but felt a little disappointed. I really loved the outside patio right on the river. I also think it would be super fun to go back in the evening when the outside bar is open. The food was just okay. The chicken fingers were very dry and my husband's brisket pizza was covered in so many onions it was almost inedible (and he really likes onions). My son had a cheese pizza and it was good. We also had the nacho appetizer, which was okay. Our server seemed annoyed and wasn't super friendly. I would like to go back on a summer evening and try again. The potential is there.

Very nice atmosphere with all the windows that have lake views. Service was good.Ordered the eggs Benedict and unfortunately they were not good. The English muffin was soggy and I'm not sure what the sauce was but it definitely wasn't hollandaise. Restraint could use some updating.

Stopped in here to eat from Chicago while visiting Indiana Beach Boardwalk and was very happy with the service and food... The location of this spot is nice because it sits on the lake...The food was delicious and my steak done a perfect medium...My tiki drink was great and the pork chops were amazing. If I ever come back thru this area of Indiana I will definitely eat here again.

Just keep driving...they don't want to serve you, don't want to answer the phone to place an order, order via the app and get there to find they are closed. Tried again to order on the app after I called to verify they were open, in route I had two phone calls to tell me they had no potatoes of any kind. Walk in and they were all over me trying to figure out what to charge me for the substitutions. Just a hot mess abs the food was not good at all. Fried chicken was cooked in what must have been month old gre

The service was great and our waitress never frowned, even when a nearby table was behaving .The ambience was perfect for a vacation neighborhood restaurant, coming home for the summer, regardless of season. The food was adequate, but what was to be expected. Will go often and strongly suggest if you want to just get away for a few hours, fell relaxed, welcome this is the spot.

Us four guys dropped in on a Friday evening, found a casual dining dusky atmosphere overlooking the little light left playing on the water, seated right away and noticed well thought out menus, in touch staff, seemed off to a good start. Tried pretzel bites, half chicken half beef nachos, a cold one, and a Rum Runner to start, the cocktail menu looked fresh! Couldn't complain with the pretzels, soft and easy to eat, nachos were chips crowned with veggies and a dash of scant meats like most penny pinching dives these days. But later noticed they charged us double albeit the waitress herself mentioned the half and half proteins. First strike out.Convinced a newbie to go for the horseshoe and by George he loved it! But then the fettuccine Alfredo was oddly spliced with what seemed to be chunks of garlic making each bite an odd reminder of unfinished chef business. I quietly went for the corn chowder, not a looker, which was ok since the soup had the goods where it counts. No issue with my cold one either but my buddy's Rum Runner was brash and missing the delightful notes banana liquor brings, new bartender back there? You might notice this is getting long because I cannot emphasize how long it took to get a basic sausage and cheese pizza for our fourth. Ages. Apparently the kid on the pie table ran off and burned it which we could've handled fine for free: they threw it out! No they didn't bother asking or even sending us home with free blackened pizza apology. I really detest wasting food. As it goes, a good 20 minutes after my chowder was gone, the pizza arrived. Wish it was only those almost inoffensive whines but the check didn't show up for a good long time either. How do you not make sure the guys are able to check out? They might be needing to get going. By time we were back on the road a solid ninety minutes elapsed. I suspect the older clientele don't mind this trip style, glancing at the bar I bet I'm right, however for the rest of us spending over twenty a pop to dine out, we are accustomed to a more customer centric routine that leaves us content with the choice of restaurant. Not surprisingly we dropped into Wendy's right after to nab frosties knowing it would be value oriented, predictably tasty, and most of all quick!

What a terrible experience. Called ahead because we had a larger group - she told me it would be 45 minutes. Walked in and the restaurant was basically empty. Over an hour goes by - one hour and twenty minutes from my original phone call - still no table available. In the meantime they managed to fill the entire restaurant. So poorly managed. We left. Will never go back. Do not recommend.
