While at the Center Grove / Hamilton Southeastern Girls Basketball game I headed over to the concession stand. The guy in front of me ordered a pizza and I asked where they get the pizza from they said South of Chicago. I had heard of this place just never been. They had pepperoni, cheese or sausage you could buy. I chose sausage and it was good. It wasn't a thick Chicago style pizza. It had a nice amount of crust to hold up to the good sauce they had on it. Some pizzas can be really dense and heavy. This was not. It was the perfect personal pizza size and I would definitely order that in the restaurant. I would want to try one of their Italian beef sandwiches with the peppers also. They have breaded raviolis, chicken Parmesan sandwiches, hot Italian sandwich and more at the restaurant in Greenwood. Yum! So, if you ever find yourself at a Center Grove Athletic game head over to the concession stand and get one of the yummy South of Chicago pizzas! Easy to carry to your seat and eat! I saw lots of people carrying the pizza boxes. So good!

This is pretty close to our house in a little strip mall. what drove me to go there was out front, They had a big banner. "God bless our troops" anytime and establishment supports are men and women in uniform I'm there, so the wife and I and our friends started going there. We used to frequent South of Chicago all the time it's a little place, and used to be friendly, you order at the counter and have a seat and they will bring it out to you. the Philly cheesesteak I think is the best thing on the menu. We've had their pizzas and they've been good. The last few times we were there, The Pizza quality has gone way down, but the reason I gave it to two is because we had a coupon and they refused to honor it (it had no expiration date). We did ask for the owner and after much argument he agreed to take it, but that was it. The owner really left a bad taste in my mouth. He was pretty nasty. I'll never go back and yes, it was over two pizzas we had ordered for a party and yes, the pizza quality sucked. No one at the party enjoyed them. Told everybody south of Chicago that's where they came from. The owner put up a hell of a fight for a 10% off coupon. I could be persuaded to eat a Philly cheesesteak there again they're really good. But probably will never be back. I just couldn't stomach giving profit to someone as nasty as we were treated over honoring a 10% coupon without an expiration date and it was their coupon. Go figure. There were three of us who witnessed the dressing down.

One of the best pizza places in central Indiana! My wife & I like all kinds of pizza & this is the best Chicago style pizza outside of Chicago. It's even better than some of those, as well. We usually get the deep dish with pepperoni & mushrooms, sometimes other stuff, too. The crust is always crisp & the dough is cooked through. Good amount of gooey cheese on top and cooked perfect every time. We usually get two meals apiece out of one large & the price is very good, even if we just got the one meal!! This is one of our favorite places & always look forward to going back.

This restaurant was not busy - in fact, we were the only customers there until nearly the end of our meal, when a couple of other customers came in. It's a good thing, because it seems as though there was only the one gentleman working there. We were told to seat ourselves, and we went past a couple of tables that were cleaned off but hadn't been wiped down before we selected a table that looked clean. My husband ordered the meat lasagna, only to be told that it was not available, only the vegetable lasagna was available. So he ordered that. I ordered an individual-size pizza that came with a single breadstick and a drink. I'm sure these items were made fresh, because we were there a while before they were served. The pizza was as I ordered it and was hot and fresh. I didn't taste my husband's lasagna, but he says it was good. My pizza was good, except I didn't like the tomato sauce on it. I like my pizza sauce to be a little bit on the sweet side, and this was not. The service was fine, I got low on my drink and was brought a refill. The bread stick was acceptable, as was the melted cheese that accompanied it. Overall this place was nothing to write home about. It was an okay but rather forgettable meal.

We've tried a lot of pizza joints around our house, and this has definitely become one of our go-to choices. I'm a sandwich girl, and I think the bread is important, and that is the primary reason I like this place. They have very good French-style bread they use for sandwiches, which then is toasted and crispy. The hot ham and cheese is delicious. Sandwiches come with chips and a pickle. The pizza is neither thin crust nor thick crust, it is somewhere in between, but it is tasty and filling. My husband gets a large and it can feed him for a few meals. We also really like the breadsticks, which are well-seasoned, soft, and have a variety of sauce choices. If you're looking for solid pizza take out, this is a good Greenwood option.

My partner was very excited to try this place after passing it a few times during commute and we decided to drop in today for a late lunch. The place was dead empty when we arrived and seated ourselves. Most tables were dirty though and the seats are all pealing. There was one person waiting us and he was rude when asked about the food. (Weve never been here before) he was also slow and it seemed we inconvenienced him. The food was awful to say the least. My partner ordered buffalo wings cheese sticks and a side of fries. The cheese sticks tasted freezer burnt and the wings were small and soggy. I ordered the chicken alfredo. The chicken tasted like the canned stuff used for chicken salad and the sauce was bland with over cooked spaghetti noodles.I quickly paid and left i will not be back. 0/10 do not recommend.

This may be my favorite Chicago style deep dish pizza anywhere. Yes, I've had Gino's East. Same with Giordanos and Lou Malnatis. I love them, but I'd put South of Chicago up against any of them. The thing that separates SoC from the rest is their crust; it's softer than you'd expect, but still hearty enough to support all the toppings they pile onto it. The staff has always been nice, too. This place may be a little out of the way for most indy residents, but they're absolutely worth visiting.

Avoid South of Chicago Pizza in Greenwood, IndianaOur experience at South of Chicago Pizza was nothing short of unwelcoming and downright rude. My group of three arrived 30 minutes before closing, only to be greeted by a manager who loudly and rudely announced that they were closing in 30 minutes. When we asked for clarification--should we leave?--he turned his back, waved us off, and dismissively said, "Oh, just go talk to them," gesturing toward the other staff. As we entered the dining area, one of the waitresses saw us and immediately darted behind a wall to hide, leaving us standing there awkwardly. After a few uncomfortable minutes, another waitress came out and strongly implied they would prefer we leave, saying the kitchen was closing soon. She asked if we wanted to dine in or take out but made it clear they weren't thrilled with either option. We decided not to subject ourselves to the poor treatment any longer and went to their competitor nearby. There, we were warmly welcomed, served delicious food, and enjoyed a much better atmosphere--all well before 9 p.m.South of Chicago Pizza clearly values convenience for their staff over providing basic hospitality to their customers. If you're looking for good food and a welcoming experience, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. This place doesn't deserve your time or money.

One of the best Pizza spots in JC. Thin crust is where it's at. Italian Beef is top notch when made fresh. Great meatballs for a good price.

Customer service greeted me upon arrival! She was very sweet! Very courteous! My pizza was hot and ready!!! It was very delicious and I'm from Chicago, this was a taste of home. Thank you for the experience! I will order from here again! I ordered half sausage/pep! Think crust as well.
