Stayed here for a few months while working on Indiana School for the Blind, great facilities, nice layout of the subdivision too. Really liked that it had plenty of parking available, never had to walk more than 50 yards or so tops. The lakes were beautiful, great fishing right in the back yard. The goose poops though, wow . The apartment we stayed in was a 3 bedroom, the rooms were spacious, closets were decent but nothing fancy with a good amount of room to hang clothes etc. The kitchen was a decent size, fridge, stove and dishwasher were all decently new and worked well. Wasn't a fan of the electric range though. Oh, and the valet garbage pickup was pretty nice, just leave the garbage can outside of tour door with the bag tied and they pick it up in the evenings. All in all, it was a good experience, I'd recommend this spot if you're lookin for a new place to stay.

Pros: there's some cool maintenance guysNice diverse community here Double layer security to get into apartments (code + key)Nice pool + clubhouseNice living space in apts Cons:PARKING (one spot to park between me and my roommate) it's very inconvenientCant pay rent online through checking account, was able to at first but not anymore. Also very inconvenient. No trash pickup on weekends. (inconvenient)NO COLD WATER! was told that they ran the hot and cold water lines too close to each other, so the best we can get is luke warm water out of our kitchen faucet. Our main source of drinking water is that faucet so we have been forced to basically run our ice maker into the ground just to get our daily drinking water. Might be the biggest issue along with the parking in my opinion. A few things here and there have gotten under my skin living here but all in all it isn't that bad. Just wish they would fix the water and parking and online rent payment. I Hope this helps somehow.

I am a wanderer, a modern day nomad if you will, and I have lived in several spots in this city in my relatively short time here. But until now I have yet to find a better place to live, then my current digs at Somerset Lakes. The place is amazing, it is pretty large, but manages to feel rather cozy and local. The neighbors are great and I even have a guy in my quad that has been there for 12 years, if that doesn't speak volumes about this place, I don't know what will. The kicker? Every apartment has a lake front view! There is a huge lake that spans throughout the complex and with each and every apartment there is a sweet view out over the water, great for sunset watching. The lake is available for boating, however if you want to swim you'll have to stick with the freshwater in the pool and skip that lake smell that some of us adore. A awesome gym, tennis courts, and basketball are all great ways to get in shape. Oh, and as for other fun things to do, for those with a green thumb there is plenty of space in the garden area, designated for the residents to get out doors and plant some veggies or flowers, whatever your hear desires. The staff is very friendly, and it doesn't seem fake like some places I've lived. The whole community is gated off and has a very safe feel, and for my money I need to feel safe. Another great thing that may keep me at Somerset for a while is the quick access to everything you need. Minutes from Broad Ripple, Keystone and Castleton, I never have to hike the ol' Jeep very far, which saves some bones on the gas.I like it here, and I like it a lot, if you don't mind spending a little extra for a classy comfortable place to live, then pony up to Somerset and check it out next time you're due for a move.

We moved in about 9yrs ago and we lived on Somerset, maintenance was great, dana and Anthony were amazing, we moved to a 3 bedroom and currently pay about 1800 in rent per month. They installed a dishwasher that litterally hung by a thread, worked for 5 mins then stopped. Called maintenance out about 4x, they said they fixed it and left and it never worked past 5 mins. Last time they came out the guy didnt put the foot plate on and left it hanging and said it worked. Shocker!!! it didn't. I have pets and one saw an open space and decided to get under there lol. Again i called maintenace and asked thrm to fix it. The guy had the nerve to say my pet broke the dishwasher lol. I'm appaled at the incompetence here. My husband went to the maintenance shed to tell them it still wasn't working and the guy was so high he was incoherent. My pipe burst under my sink and the cabinet was moldy and warped. I sent the office a message with images. They ignored me, im so over this place, they refuse to fix things properly and the amount you pay in rent is insane..We had a snow storm and the roads are a sheet of ice, i tried walking my dog you cannot find a spot to walk without almo at breaking your neck. Honestly i used to love living here but now I hate it. The lobby is grosse and needs painting. The laundry room is vile and cold. I pay alot of money to live here and they do nothing. The office staff are rude, I called earlier as we have no hot water and they answered the phone with a rude "Hello". Not "Hello, somerset lakes office how can I help" just a rude "Hello". When i called later I got a different person and they were polite. Im beyond pissed off. Once we have enough to buy im gone, Summers are pretty as we use the lake but its not worth the money. I have to pay out of pocket to replace filters and upkeep of the heating/AC because they wont. Glick should be ashamed, they are robbing us blind. If you are thinking of moving here dont.. Everyone ive known here left for a better place. Its not worth the money and they wont fix anything properly. You end up using your own funds.

Office staff has received notices of valet trash violations and neighbors continue to place trash in hallway with no violations or office communications to reprimand the behavior.

I need resident relations to contact me. We have gotten nowhere with the property management. We have been dismissed and disrespected any time there is contact.

This was a horrible place to live. There was an abundance of fruit flies from the second we moved in until we moved out, despite having to pay an "extermination" fee monthly. We bought our of our lease because it was no longer worth paying an insane amount to live in an ill-maintained complex. Our car randomly got towed because there is never enough parking spaces available. They added so many charges once we moved out so we would owe money for absolutely no reason. I would not recommend that anyone live here.

I was extremely unhappy due to the fact that my car got towed about 3 weeks ago in the middle of the night. I live in a two bedroom apartment, but was only given one parking space for two cars. I came home one Friday and ALL the visitor parking spaces were taken which is where I usually park the extra car. I had the option to pay an extra monthly fee for another parking space, but with the high cost of this apartment, I already felt like I was overpaying on rent so of course I did not opt for the extra parking space. Anyways, I went ahead and parked on the side of the street because I literally had nowhere else to park unless I were to illegally take someone else's parking space. My car got towed and I was told that cars are only towed by the request of the property.... So incredibly frustrating! I was late to work the next day and had to haggle with the towing company for extra 2 days, all of which would have never happened if Somerset Lakes didn't request for my car to be towed. This is just a way for Somerset Lakes to try to force me to buy a monthly carport for my extra vehicle which already is a ridiculous thing to have to do due to the lack of parking in a PRIVATE COMPLEX. This isn't Downtown Indy... I shouldn't have to be searching for 20 minutes for a parking space on the weekends. I wish to be reimbursed for this massive inconvenience, but based off other reviews I've seen here, it's doubtful that it'll happen and that I'll simply receive a "We apologize for the inconvenience" sort of response. I plan on posting on every source of information to ensure that people realize that the beautiful views and spacious homes are NOT worth the stress and tiring conversations over minor issues that Somerset Lakes won't assist with. For Somerset Lakes: If you wish to resolve this issue, please offer a reimbursement and I'll gladly reconsider my opinion of the complex/management. However, if you simply wish to respond and say "I'm so sorry for your experience" without any impactful action on your part, then you can keep your hollow words to yourself.
