Solana at the Crossings

My wife and I moved to Solana in July of 2019 and have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of this apartment community in Indianapolis north side. The office staff have been wonderful to work with not only at the time we moved but also with their kind assistance with repair services, package delivery and making us constantly feel welcomed. The apartment buildings are very well constructed and minimize noise from adjacent units. Our apartment has a fabulous view over a lake. The company made certain to leave adequate green space in an open meadow and the water to not block our view. PSA - finally on day 25 of my AC not working Management finally called an outside contractor to come investigate and fix the problem. But of course the soonest they can be onsite is after the weekend. So I will be at least 28 days with no air conditioning in the months of June and July with temperatures often in the high 80s to 90s. The problem is some how related to the electrical system because when the on-site maintenance staff was attempting a repair, the electrical breaker box was throwing sparks. This was last week and early this week. Needless to say I have been unable to stay in my apartment for most of the past 28 day due to extreme temperatures inside or the threat of fire. Not once was I offered a rent credit despite specifically asking. The communication with the management staff is pathetic and when there is a discussion it is a complete run around with few good answers. I have also called Brookside Properties, the property owner, and have not had a return call. Unfortunately I have heard from neighbors and others working at Solana that several others are experiencing similar AC failures throughout the complex. Indiana law requires a landlord to repair air conditioning within a "reasonable" amount of time. I believe 28 days to be unreasonable and will be contacting the local oversight agencies to determine next steps.

Stay far away from this new ownership lived here for six years and transferring for my job and they will have someone move in and pay rent as soon as I leave but charge you 4 months of rent to move out early. Use to be nice and safe now cop cars are a regular scene here over last 2 years - Rent due by the 5th but if they don't get it the 2nd they post eviction threats on your door - much better options on north side and safer options than this over priced dump. .

I do not recommend living here. This is an apartment complex where management does not care about its tenants. We had to live without a working AC and dryer in our apartment for a month in the summer, with little recognition that this was an issue. We have also have numerous maintenance requests falsely marked complete when they were clearly not. We had to purchase parts for items that were missing when we first moved in (e.g. a closet rod) and management refused to reimburse us. We had paint overspray on our car when the exterior buildings were being repainted, with no solution offered on reparations. While we were on vacation, we also had a maintenance worker enter our apartment to work on requests. Thank god we have cameras set up in our apartment while we were away, because this man left our apartment door OPEN, UNLOCKED, with the MASTER KEYS in the exterior lock for 3 days. Anyone could have entered our apartment, or took the master keys and entered anyone else's apartment. After speaking with management and showing video evidence of this happening, there were no repercussions for this worker.The management here takes no responsibility for anything.After much patience and unresponsive management, we have realized we will never be treated as paying tenants should. You will not call this place home.

Would not recommend this place. Been here for two years and the AC goes out at least once a year. Good luck getting maintenance out to fix it within a week. They don't tell you when they're coming, just that you're on the to do list and to expect them any time. The first year I lived here was great but they have recently started doing a lot of short term rentals which has brought a lot of problems. Have had to call the cops multiple times on fights breaking out in the streets. We reported the problems to the front office and never heard anything back. They do have a great location and nice walking path around the property, but there is always dog poop all over the path. Other than that they do keep up with the landscape. The pool on the other hand is very dirty and over crowded with unaccompanied children. Also had a DEA raid the other week. Seems like a trend around here. Hard to feel safe. Safe to say we will be moving out as soon as the lease is up.

Do not move here if you care about your safety and wellness! Maintenance comes in your apartment without notice.Came home to my bathroom lights and exhaust fan on,and dirty shoe prints in my tub!!!! Went to office was told to send pics.I did now 2 days later tub still has dirty shoe prints!!!! Am I to clean after maintenance? The office can't even tell me who was in my apartment.Was it their maintenance people? Whas it some random company that they contracted to do repairs? How many keys to my apartment is floating around?I absolutely do not feel safe here!!!!OMG...WHAT TO DO??

Solana is poorly run, overpriced, charge fees, documents/rental agreement are not accurate...maintenance requests are rarely fulfilled/done properly/cause more issues. Zero communication by mgmt other than going into office which is a must. Pool is disgusting while open. Mold issues, trash issues, gate issues, dog poop everywhere, shitty appliances, drug dealing in broad day light, and several short term rentals. Nothing like it was a year or two ago...DEA infiltrated units earlier this year (2023) likely because mgmt doesn't require employment only proof of income on applications. The only thing they have good going for them is landscaping which is hired out. If you're considering Solana, think twice...or as a last resort. I do not recommend for anyone even visiting short term.

We have been very pleased by the whole process of renting, moving in, and living at solana. I have a three-bedroom apartment which was difficult to find near broad ripple/nora. We have lived here almost 6 months now. The grounds, and the lake, and the pool, everything is beautiful. The office staff and the maintenance staff are very responsive and we are quite happy.

I lived at Solana over three years. Decent apartments if you're in your early 20s or a student. I would not recommend it for families or anyone looking for a quiet safe place. The pool gets really wild on weekends, residents speed through the streets and blast music at all times of night. Valet trash rules are not followed or enforced. The buildings also need their public hallways power washed pretty badly. I am leaving two stars because the location is good with many restaurants, groceries, and the fashion mall nearby. There is also a walking path around the neighborhood which I used a lot during my time living there.

Please whatever you do, do NOT live here. Management is horrible, they never can keep word to anything they say and they over charge you for EVERYTHING. Always communicate with the office via email so you have documentation of information that is given to you (which I made the mistake of not doing) because if you don't and call the office to get any information you need. You will constantly be told wrong or false information because no one seems to know the correct information there. Which will lead you into paying more than you need too. I have never had as many issues with any apartment complexes I've ever lived in as much as Solana!! I regret living here which is sad because I had high hopes about this place needed to post a review so others are warned about this place
