Smoky's Concession Stand

The staff made up for the kitchens woes this evening - I ordered the BBQ platter and as they were plating my food, I was told they ran out of ribs. (6 PM on a Saturday... disappointing)I was offered a replacement of more pulled pork or corned beef. I wasn't initially offered something else on menu, however when the manager approached after hearing of the situation, she offered me something else off the menu. I chose the Italian beef, it was a 6/10, but I was half full from snacking on my mother's meal so I wasn't bothered.The BBQ platter was comped and we were given a warm cookie with ice cream as a "sorry".Well done, staff! I will be back to try the ribs next time!

Excellent salads! The everything salad had edamame, fresh greens, grilled chicken, candied pecans, and a homemade vinaigrette. My friend was able to order the chicken tender salad and asked for buffalo chicken instead of plain chicken and they kindly obliged .The nachos come out in a huge coffee can that they turn over and dump out and everything is perfectly evenly distributed so that the bottom nachos are not naked and all the toppings on the top. Excellent service and fair price and we loved it that we got to sit outside in the sun under an umbrella on the patio.

Great food from scratch! When busy wait staff is overwhelmed, but that's ok, the food is fantastic! Been there three times now tried different things always big servings to take home too. Outdoor live music a plus in the summer too.

We hit Smoky's promptly at 11:00 on a Saturday. They we just unlocking the doors, but welcomed us eagerly and set out two fine screwdrivers to start the morning. The menu is varied, but not overwhelming, I went with the special, a barbecued/smoked chicken quesadilla while my friend went with the reuben. The place was clean, super organized. All beer labels facing the right way, glasses lined up label out. You could tell the folks here care.We decided to switch out the screwdrivers for greyhounds (vodka and grapefruit juice) and our server/bartender Ashley delivered with perfection. I prefer a greyhound when available...just more tart with the vodka in my opinion. Ashley then delivered the food. Excellent in every aspect. I added green olives to my quesadilla and they were the chef's kiss. Overall fantastic experience all before noon in Lapel. I'll be back with the wife next time. Keep it up Smoky's.

Somky's Concession is part of the Foxgardin group and named after the owners dad who had an auction house with a concession stand in this building years ago. It has a great garden/patio area that often has live music in the warmer months. The building with exposed brick and original floors is very charming. It has unique decor that is similar to other Foxgardin restaurants. Order barbecue; pulled pork, ribs, pulled pork nachos. All delish. Well know for the fried chicken and you cant go wring with their collard greens, cornbread and Smokeys fries! The service is friendly and helpful. They do a great job with getting the food out fast. Especially considering the distance from the kitchen. ALWAYS get pie for dessert at any of the Foxgardin restaurants. They are made with love! By Jane, the chefs mother. This restaurant is located in the heart of Lapel. It has a decent sized dining room, a full bar with seating, and a very nice outdoor patio/courtyard area. You will find televisions over the bar and in the dining area. There is free street parking on the street in front of the restaurant. There is a garage door that they can open up in the front of the restaurant and there is a roll up window that opens up the dining area to the patio.They have a full menu that consists of burgers, barbecue, pizza, salads, chicken, and tenderloins, along with some savory sides. The restaurant also has a savory drink menu with signature cocktails and beers. The restaurant has daily food and drink specials, so check with your server to see what the flavor of the day is.I got their special for the day, which was a burger with pulled pork and slaw, yummmm. It came with fries and I got an additional side of baked beans. It took about 15 or 20 minutes for me to get my food.The staff was so apologetic. The bar tender/server was so attentive, friendly and helpful. My food was delicious. The burger was so tasty and packed with flavor. I made a good choice, if I do say so myself. The fries and beans were equally delicious. This is a nice small town joint with a friendly, top notch staff and a wide range of delicious food. I throughly enjoyed my meal and highly recommend checking this place out. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Heard through the grapevine about their blood mary special on the weekends. It was amazing. The waitress asked if I wanted it spicy l. I said a little but definitely could have stood more heat. Will try a hot one next time. All of the snacks on the drink were good, fresh. Fries were good too. No complaints. We went at 11 and it wasn't crowded at all. We parked right in front but it did look like there was only street parking. I can't advise if there was a dedicated lot or not since we didn't have to hunt for a spot and got front row parking.

Great place to grab a bite and a drink. Daily specials and a good variety of dishes makes this place somewhere you can come several days in a row and get what you are looking for. Service is always stellar and friendly.

Local owned businesses that workers very hard to please, and does a great job. Food is always spot on, staff is fun, and old town atmosphere is enjoyable.

I do not usually give a 5 star..ever. Jake Burgess wins again. He took a failing venue and turned it around. We were greeted graciously and seated. Amy was our server and she was amazing. We asked for beer options because they were not on the menu. She knew all of them. I asked for recommendations for ordering and she gave us a ton. LOVE that!! Usually its two at the most. She based her opinion on what she liked and why. We did a sampler and a pizza. Our grand daughter and guest ordered burgers. I am a pizza snob. I am from Chicago. It was really good for Indiana. The corn meal on the bottom was a great touch. We got the spicy garlic wing sauce on the wings. It was OK.. Needed more kick. Ranch was great. Blue cheese tasted like the ranch with blue cheese crumbles on top. Overall, we will go back. The food was great..Amy was amazing.... Ask for her if you go!!
