I love Smock and think it is by far the best value for a course close to downtown Indianapolis. It doesn't try to be overly fancy, but for mid $40s a round on the weekend riding 18, it offers a number of unique holes/shots and is kept in pretty good shape. As someone with a driver who sprays, it also is generally open enough to find your ball when missing the fairway. Highly recommend!

The staff at the course and the driving range are excellent. The course is in really good shape other than the greens which have several pock marks from unrepaired ball marks. Do not play really early on Mondays, Wednesday or Friday as you will get stuck behind the men's league if you do not finish all of your round before 9am.

I really like this course. The only thing I hate is some of the holes are elevated, either up hill or down hill! This is challenging for a beginning but a beautiful course. Most of the fairways are open even for a slicer. Greens are well maintained and the persons in the office have always been professional. I love the driving range. They have a putting and pitching practice area.

Pleasantly surprised by the layout and good condition of this public golf course. Pro shop staff was very friendly & cooperative. For a general flat area there was a good number of modest elevation changes that provided very nice challenges to golfers with 10+ handicaps. Would certainly recommend this course for visitors or any golfer looking for a public course.

Got yelled at by course staff for hitting two balls at the first tee. My first ball was lost. He talked to us like children. The people behind us were driving while we were still in the fairway and we were almost hit on multiple occasions. When bringing this to the attention of the staff they laughed as if it were no big deal. Will not be returning and it's too bad because it's a nice course.

This is a nice course for a learning player like me. A bit flat perhaps and a fair amount of water, but not too many trees so one can avoid trouble (though I did manage to hit 3). Cast is good and the adjacent practice facility ((pitching & putting greens; driving range) is nice.

Always in great condition! Awesome staff! A little water, trees and sand... best city course in Indy for your money in my opinion.

Decent course for the money. Just don't bring any valuables or a nice car here as they have frequent break ins in the parking lot and they do not have security cameras to catch the thieves.

Unfortunately I will never give this golf course business again, and would not recommend anyone giving them business. Kevin the person who runs the course first off is extremely rude. He constantly rushed us off the course before it even got dark and also banned two people I played with for getting frustrated will him. This has never happened at any place I've golfed at. We were the lasted ones to be on the course and I think he just wanted to go home. Paying a lot to golf this is very disrespectful and he didn't seem to care. The course is mediocre, but there are plenty of others in area that are just as good. If you want to have a stress free time and have fun would recommend spending your money at a more respecting and friendly golf course.

I do not recommend playing here. Bad upkeep and staff. The staff (Kevin) was in too much of a hurry to get home that they watched us play the last 3 holes and proceeded to yell at us because they wanted the carts back so they could go home. It wasn't even sundown. There are plenty of other places in the area that are less expensive and MUCH better places to golf at. Plus the staff won't yell at you! If I could give this a -5 star I would!
