I'ver been here on two occasions now, and I've been pleased each time. I find that I tend to have a short attention span for BBQ; after a while, to me it all starts to taste about the same, so I focus on other aspects of the experience. I do appreciate the service and the ambiance here. The building itself is relatively new, and it's easily accessible on Illinois, close to the 69 interchange.

Haven't been here in some time so we got some carry out. The place was clean and the staff were helpful! Ordered the burnt ends with baked beans and creamy coleslaw. Everything was tasty and the packaging was very nice! If you want some good bbq on the Southwestern part of town give them a call or stop in!

I had to go because of the name. Plus it was right on my route. Corporate barbecue. Sigh. The rib dinner was four bones and a couple sides, I couldn't spring for that. I got a lunch special which was still pretty expensive for a brisket sandwich and one side. The brisket was OK. A little smoke, overwhelming flavor of cumin maybe, tender enough, needed sauce. The original sauce is a decent standard. The tangy is super thin, vinegary, not tangy, not flavorful. The spicy has a hint of spice in the back, and not much else going on. Apple pie baked beans are bland, and slightly sweet, and soupy. Not my style. Lipton sweet tea from a machine. The music is the blues and Stevie Nicks? Service was good. Pass.

Outstanding BBQ, but stupid expensive... We stopped into the SW SiP for lunch on a Friday... First time at this location. It's the exact same as the one on Maplecrest - Chill atmosphere, cool look, and very clean feel. The service was great (it always is) and fast... We had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. The food was yet again ridiculously good (the BBQ is awesome, no doubt about it), but for the love of God and Baby Jesus, it's expensive... $35 w/ tip for lunch. I don't care how good your food is, restaurants have got to figure out "fair and reasonable" prices again for customers - COVID and economy excuses have to stop. There's no reason why anyone should pay $35 for lunch (hence the 4 stars, instead of 5)... Food for thought, SiP

Great food and nice suze portions. Ordering online is nice as well, and the food is always hot.

My husband got the wings, which were tough, but the sauces were good. I got the Mac and cheese, which was just okay. The garlic bread that came with it was basically what you find in the frozen section at the supermarket. The best thing we got was a basket of fries, which were hot and well-seasoned. So, of the almost $40 spent, the best thing we ate was only $4. I will go back, but definitely will be trying something else next time.

This review gets two stars because everything I ordered was delivered (doordashed) and for once the spoon bread was moist, piping hot and delicious which is unusual as it's often dried out or like they scraped the bottom of the pan. I don't know why, but every year or so I give this place another chance but I think this will be the last time. I got the rib and 1 meat dinner, opted for the pulled pork. The ribs had very little meat and was dried out to the point of being inedible. The pork was weirdly clumped (smooshed) together and dried out. Not even the bbq sauce could save it. The cole slaw smelled old, tasted old. Just yuck.

First came to Shigs on Fairfield about 10 years ago. The BBQ was excellent. The pulled pork, brisket, ribs and sides were, without question, some of the best I'd eaten. Recommended to relatives who lived in Fort Wayne who were equally impressed. As time passed and Shigs expanded to three locations, my relatives informed us that quality had suffered. Finding that hard to believe, and living out of state, we returned to find the food had indeed suffered severely. We recently went to Shigs Illinois. Although it was late in the afternoon on a Tuesday, we were the only couple in the dining room, although there were a half dozen or so in the bar area. The jalapeño poppers were ok although the bacon was overdone, the pulled pork was anything but pulled, more like run through a food processor. In addition, the pork was overseasoned. It appeared that it had been spiced while smoking and respiced after shredding. Pulled chicken sandwich was bland and the sides were dry and lacked the flavor we were used to. It pains us to say it, but the quality is nowhere near where it had been. Finally, no one bothered to check to see if we were satisfied with the meal. And, it was not because they were busy. A truely dissappointing experience.

The atmosphere was very nice and really clean! Everyone was really pleasant and friendly. And the food was amazing!! We had a half order of nachos with pulled pork and they were so good! The pork was tasty and juicy. And the chips were crunchy and had a nice spice to them. And I had the brisket with 2 sides. The brisket was so juicy and melted in my mouth! Some of the best brisket I've ever had! And the Apple Pie Baked Beans were really good! Just enough sweetness with really good bbq flavor! I will definitely come back whenever I'm in town!

Good place to eat and take your family. Food is always good. We go there often with the grandkids.
