Severin Bar

Nice looking bar, pool table and nice amount of seats as well as a TV's. The service was terrible. Rex was cordial and took care of our tables, he was one of the servers/bartenders. But his manager was TERRIBLE! We didn't catch his name, unfortunately...We had a large group, maybe 15 in total. We had young and old in our party and had three to four tables. They typically don't do table service and make you order from the bar, drinks and food. However, Rex did a great job accommodating a few of our parents who are older. We had a family member in our group who had a cough. The manager came over and stood in front of us all and said, "you have to leave!" You are contaminating our bar and you all have to leave. He is not sick and simply had a deep cough. He has been evaluated a number of times and has been told by FP& ENT, he has been using his vocal cords too much and has caused him to have a cough. He stayed between our tables and there weren't many others in the bar. We basically had most of the bar to ourselves. We asked if he was kidding and he said, no, you must leave our bar. Honestly felt like he is a hypochondriac, and probably shouldn't be in the bartending or management position. The way he made our family member feel and the way he went about the situation was simply poor. If in the area, bypass this bar and support other bars in the area.

I stayed at the Omni Hotel for business and truly wish I had eaten more often on site here at the Severin Bar!! Service is extremely friendly and the bartenders make a mean cosmo. On my last night I had dinner at the bar and it was fantastic. The smashed burger with house made truffle potato chips and a lovely romaine salad with a unique dusting of truffle seasoning. For dessert I had their bread pudding, it was too notch with the most flavorful vanilla ice cream I have ever had. Definitely will be eating there more often on future stays at the Omni.

I would characterize my experience at Severin Bar as "Typical Hotel Bar". Food was good, but nothing remarkable, the prices were unnecessarily expensive and the service was good. Got the burger with fries and it was everything I was looking for in a quick meal. Their tap list was running quite short with 3 of the local brews unavailable. Wish they were open a little later, seemed like 9pm was pretty early for a bar.

This place is an unbelievable rip off. I just paid $9.27 for a can of beer, not including the tip. The menu doesn't even specify which beers are draught and which are cans.Worse, when I walked in they were showing a hockey playoff game on one TV and some random TV show with the sound off. I asked to watch a baseball game instead of the show. When one bartender asked what channel it's on, I told her MLB network and she replied, "That doesn't really help me." She did figure out how to switch it over, but after several minutes they switched all 3 sets to hockey (the fourth screen appears to be broken). I asked her what happened to baseball and she said, "I have no idea." I asked the other bartender if there is any reason they can't show both and he said, "Don't be so passive aggressive."Absolutely horrible service.

Frequenting hotel bars is not my scene, no judgment to those that do, but it's just not a habit I have ever gotten into. Randomly I had a friend who wanted to go out one weeknight: and since she's a mom and being invited places is fun. I decided to go. We were down south and and had some delicious food then came back downtown to stop at one place for a beer, unfortunately those taps tasted dirty and she suggested the Severin bar.I was impressed with the interior, although I don't frequent hotel bars there is a certain appeal to them. there was a crowd which is great for anyplace, and I believe this was for the American legion convention if I can gather from the shirts.We grabbed a small table and hung out. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable! I had a delicious gin martini, and then it was suggested that I try pink gin! My life motto is I'll try anything once, pink gin is tasty! Glad I had the chance to have it.

My "once a year visit" happened again this year (GenCon) and I must say a huge THANK YOU to the Severin staff and the Omni Hotel. You all really are my favorite place to drink, dine, play a free game of billiards, and eat during the convention. (Mostly because it isn't standing-room-only and the staff at Severin really does an excellent job - good tunes too!)Severin has the best bacon-deviled-eggs around, (we got like 5 orders of them), and the cheddar cheese biscuits are also a very filling super yummy option!The BBQ and Buffalo chicken wings were filling and an excellent choice.In addition to that, (on more than one visit), I also had the filet with mashed potatoes and some of the very best garlic asparagus I've ever eaten.My buddy also enjoyed the Old School Burger.The drinks are always on point, and there are tons of TVs with whatever channel/game/movie you're interested in.I will always visit Severin bar if I'm in Indy and get the chance, and I hope you do too!~ Huzzah!

A couple of us were downtown for a late afternoon meeting and stopped in here for drinks and appetizers. It's a sleek bar inside the Omni Severin Hotel with an upscale vibe, though I saw people coming in dressed in jeans reading to watch the Pacers game. I was surprised at the menu offerings - more than just bar bites to include flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, etc. So if you want to extend your happy hour celebrations, you can eat dinner here, too.Beware service can be slow if there are just one or two bartenders on hand.

Ridiculously expensive. 1 glass of wine and a Moscow mule for $40?! We should have attempted to crash the wedding next door, the bail would have been cheaper than the drinks at the bar.

Worst experience of my life. Devour Indy and I ordered. An hour later after the appetizer finally came the waitress told me that she just put my order in and it would be another hour. Made no apologies. I will not step foot in the Omni or this restaurant again. Save yourself the trouble and skip it.

So flavorful. The combo of mushrooms with goat cheese was perfect. The tomatoes came with bread, cheese and jam.
