I was utterly devastated when Santorini Greek Kitchen closed their full-service restaurant in 2018. It had been a family favorite for many years, and it was where many important occasions were celebrated. My devastation has turned to nostalgic joy knowing that their cuisine is still available, albeit in a family-style catering way.I typically don't order takeout or delivery. I prefer dining-in at sit-down restaurants with no dishes to wash or kitchen to clean. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic kept us confined to the house, ordering a healthy dose of Greek soul food was just the thing to beat the blues.Prior to the pandemic, Santorini offered many of the restaurant favorites with a $100 minimum order. However, in the wake of the crisis, the owners dropped the minimum order to $45.00, offering a dinner feeding four-to-six people, which is quite the deal. For that paltry sum, you'll get a large salad portion, extra feta and olives, and plenty of pita. Of course, you'll choose your entree with a vegetable side. They're currently offering gyro, chicken souvlaki, pastitsio, moussaka, and dolmades. You are then able to add on items like hummus and baba ganoush by the pint. Of course, Santorini's wonderful desserts are included. At this time, they're offering generous portions of baklava or galaktabouriko. My recent order from Santorini was a massive portion of gyros. It was every bit as good as what was served in the restaurant. The meat was tender and juicy, and absolutely fresh. I didn't purchase any add-ons. Having the choice between green beans or potatoes as a side, I clearly chose the potatoes. At the restaurant, I always ordered French fries, and I prefer those to potatoes I received. For dessert, the easy choice was baklava. At the $45 price point, the amount of food received was overwhelming. It could easily feed four hungry adults. As there were just two of us, we had a bushel of leftovers. In our current climate, this translates into less unnecessary trips to the grocery.Santorini Greek Kitchen offers pickup and free delivery (within a ten-mile radius of Downtown). The service I received was excellent. Be sure to call several hours ahead!Opa!

I have not had their food for over 10 years! I saw the advertised a family deal for Easter and I was overly excited!!! They gave us a lot of food!!! Everything tasted just like the restaurant except for the baba ghanoush and their green beans. Green beans where a little crunchy. I can't put my finger on the issue with the baba ghanoush. The chicken souvlaki was amazing!!! They did not provide any taziki sauce. I would have also liked more pitas but that is always the case! Overall...very good and hot!

Santorini's is one of the greatest Greek restaurant in Indianapolis...IMO. I miss going to the old restaurant! While the physical restaurant is no more you can still get a limited menu of some of their greatest hits as Santorini's Greek Kitchen operates catering and family dining (for pick-up) from the Biltwell Event center. The food is beyond fantastic and we've ordered on four occasions since the beginning of the pandemic.Tonight, we ordered the Gyro and grabbed an extra add-on of Tzaziki w/pita. The dinner for four came with the Greek potatoes, Greek Salad, and baklava for dessert! We had dinner tonight and there's plenty for lunch tomorrow...not bad to have this for two meals for a family of four! $76 and change. If you need a great dinner tonight or catering for the holidays, call 317-917-1117.

I am glad I was introduced to this spot by a friend a few months ago. The food is fantastic and the family running the place is very friendly. We had a large group after a downtown event and Santorini was exactly what we needed. With lively customer service and delicious food, I will be back soon! I loved the hospitality the owner provided and I felt like a longtime friend with the way I was treated. Update-it appears they only do catering now but perhaps one day they will return to restaurant service.
