I'm so happy it's food truck season again and this is one of my favorites! They offer great sandwich and salad options! After indulging in way too much ice cream last night, I opted for the healthier Summer time salad and I was not disappointed. Fresh greens, giant strawberries, onions and pecans. Throw on some poppyseed dressing and I'm a happy girl!

This food truck visited St. Vincent 86th street for a portion of a fundraiser for PMCH. It's not very often we get food trucks on campus so I was thrilled to get a chance to try a new truck for me. I ordered the Gyro. There were several menu choices that sounded fantastic. Including the burger, a turkey sandwich with bacon, and the Philly Cheesesteak. The gyro comes out quickly and had 4 slices of seasoned meat similar to gyro meat although I think it's more beef than lamb. Regardless the meat was seasoned perfectly and was juicy. It's wrapped with a creamy tzatziki sauce that I think could use a bit more creativity like adding more feta and possibly utilizing a fresh herb like mint. It also comes with one tomato slice cut in half and several red onion slices. The sandwich was solid. Not spectacular. I think it could use a couple more pieces of meat and maybe a bit more creativity with the toppings. I'd like to see a cucumber, tomato, and onion relish marinated in a bit of oil and red wine vinegar in addition to the different tzatziki sauce. Regardless the gyro satisfied my craving for food from a food truck and it's something I would certainly order again. The only other concern was the price. It was a little too much for this Gyro to be $8. I'd expect a bit more with it. It did come with kettle chips which were tasty yet under seasoned. Overall a very good experience with this truck and the staff were quite friendly.
