Vibes were a little off. We went for Taco Tuesday, but they ended up not offering it that night. Portions were decent, but a little too pricey. You can get the same if not better at other taco places for more reasonable prices (and stronger margaritas!). Would recommend if they bring back taco Tuesday and it's close to you.

I finally was able to try Salty Cowboy last night! Located in downtown Zionsville this is such a fun place to enjoy some great food! I loved the old house turned into a cute restaurant. They have lots of tables out front for the warmer months. Not only was it my birthday yesterday, it was also another diner named Chloe's as the big group sang to her. Ha! The food that was coming out at that table looked so good! We ordered the chips and queso. Oh my the chips were perfect! The queso was delicious!! Not heavy! Perfectly creamy and we all loved it! We saw a few tables order the guacamole and they come to the table and make it for you fresh!! Looked so good!I ordered the Johnny Cash nachos. I ordered it the Dolly Parton style which means it's a smaller version. It was still a huge portion. They don't skimp on toppings and I appreciate that! It had Texas caviar, ground beef, and other good toppings. I saw a lot of people ordering flights of tacos. You can pick which ones you want. Those were filled and I would try those next time. On for the dessert we ordered the churros and those were piping hot and came with chocolate in the middle and caramel to dip them in. Delicious! Our waiter Ben was nice and did a great job. Can't wait to go again!!

YEEEHAAAW Y'all! There are many wonderful places in the world, but one of my favorite places is at The Salty CowboyThis wasn't my first rodeo with taco joints, but I sure was kickin up my heels after eating here. The only reason to be salty is because I can't afford to eat here on a daily basis. Regardless, I'll tell you how the cow ate the cabbage. While working in Indiana, my first visit to the Salty Cowboy was on a whim, when I was in desperate need of some good tacos, margs, and buckaroo's. While working in a small town in Indiana often felt like a whole month of Sundays, the Salty Cowboy provided comrades and cocktails. I even joined the rewards program during my time, because I ate here at least 3x per week...The food was delish. On my first visit, I went whole hog, and ordered the "trailer park" to sample some salsa, queso and guacamole. All three sparked a wonderful frenzy amongst my taste buds. I also got the Pink Taco, Coco cabana, and clucking mango. All were phenomenal in their own degree, but my favorite was the coco cabana, so much so, I've tried to recreate it at home. It's a good balance of flavor and the fish was crisped to perfection.Along, I ordered a few too many drinks, partaking in the whiskey and marg options. Let's just say I was drunker than Cooter Brown at the county fair by the time I stumbled out of The Salty Cowboy. I had to taxi back to my homestead. The Salty Cowboy presents a wonderful aroma. If you're lucky enough to sit in the back bar area, visitors will experience a mix of cool secret basement, with dark painted walls and unique murals, with nods to artwork with cattle and skeletons, which we Americans idolize oh so much. They played a strong mix of bangers, including alternative and rock hits that would make a millennial get up sang. The staff also wears fun T-shirts with funny taco puns and I really wish I could get my hands on one of these. @TheSaltyCowboy, plz send me a shirt, and I will forever be endowed to your fine establishment. The outhouse (bathroom) was clean, had fun finishes and was good overall. The bathroom had nice mirrors, to allow you to fix your makeup or hair before headed off to square dancing or whatever event you planned on next. I can't wait to return. I plan to walk in like a cowboy in the 1800s, walking into the saloon to greet his compadres after years of separation. Present day, Looking at the menu, I'm not sure why Salty Cowboy removed the og pink taco - the taco that drew my gaze to this place? The pink taco was perfection, the perfect blend of sweet heat, kickin all your tastebuds to Partay. It looks like they still might have it? I hope. Next time I'm back in Indy, I will for sure will be back.

I can't recommend Salty Cowboy enough! It's a must go for us each time we're in the area and have time to make it work. Delicious food, great service, amazing margaritas, and just a great fun vibe. The tacos are so good, the queso is delicious, and the margaritas flight is a great way to try different varieties. We've also gotten margarita pitchers when with a bigger group. It does get crowded during prime times and there may be a wait, but it's always worth it. There is some parking in the back of the building as well as street parking. And it's hard to beat the charm of Zionsville, IN! Do yourself a favor if you're in the area and give it a try.

If you're looking for a spot with an eclectic atmosphere, great music, and a personal touch, this restaurant in the heart of downtown Zionsville is a must-visit!From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. We met the owner at check-in (though we didn't realize he was the owner at first). After we were seated, he came back to check on us, which added such a personable and hospitable touch. The margarita flight? Absolute fire! Each flavor was unique and perfectly balanced. They even infuse their jalapeño tequila in house. We started with the Trailer Park Sampler with street corn dip, queso, salsa, and guacamole--all so fresh and delicious. The tacos were massive, with generous portions of toppings (no skimping here like you find at similar spots). Every bite was packed with flavor! We sat in the bar area, which is great for sports fans--plenty of TVs to keep up with the games (also have NFL network). My only downfall to the place would be that the seating wasn't the most comfortable, but we were at a barrel tabletop with no footrest. While our chairs had footrests, they weren't comfortable to utilize. Other tables in the bar seemed more comfortable, with footrests, so we'll choose differently next time.Service was exceptional throughout our visit (shoutout to Cali for answering all of our questions & providing recommendations to us), and the overall experience was fantastic. The restaurant is located in Zionsville's charming downtown, making it perfect for a casual night out or a fun date night.Highly recommend this spot, and we'll definitely be back!

Beautiful night out on the patio. Enjoyed a delicious White Strawberry margarita. Salty Cowboy has some of the best margaritas. We started off with their fresh guacamole. Highly recommend It's a huge portion. So suggest sharing it with a group. We had 4 people and probably only made it through half of the bowl. I feel like margaritas and guacamole is the star. I ordered the Pink Taco and the Los Cabos . The Pink Taco (fried cod) was definitely my favorite. The Los Cabos had fried shrimp. The shrimp didnt have much of a taste. But the mango salsa on it was very good. Overall, Salty Cowboy is always a solid choice.

Empanadas are definitely still my favorite, but their quesadillas are also excellent. Margaritas are pretty good, not too sugary and sweet. Definitely a place to visit in the summer when you can dine outside.

Gonna give a 4, but I would give a 3.5 if I could. The queso and street corn dip are good. My wife had a burrito and it was good. The tacos are expensive and well, I've had better from taco trucks for cheaper. $7 and $8 for a single taco, means they had better be top notch. The margarita I had was good, but $14?This was slightly better TexMex, but way more expensive. Burrito was huge and seemed to be a much better value for the money.
