Saltgrass Steak House

I've dined at several other Saltgrass locations, so I was happy to find a location here in Danville while driving through Illinois on a trip for work.The restaurant was nearly empty on a Monday evening. I was dining by myself, and when I entered the hostess asked if I had a reservation. I was surprised, because the restaurant was nearly empty. I said I didn't have a reservation and asked if I needed one. She told me no, but added that since I was dining alone maybe I could sit at the bar. I wasn't planning to drink since I was traveling for work, but when she suggested for a second time that I might like to sit at the bar "since I was dining alone " I said that would be ok. I travel frequently for work and often dine in restaurants by myself, and I've never had anyone think it unusual.The bar area was completely empty, not a single customer at the bar or any of the tables in the bar area. A very slow night. I ordered salmon and a baked potato, both were excellent. I love Saltgrass salmon, and it is usually what I have ordered at all the Saltgrass locations I have visited. The potato was perfectly baked and served with butter, sour cream, and green onion, just as I had ordered.I'll be happy to visit this location again when driving through this area. There really aren't many good dinner options along my route so I am glad Saltgrass is here.

We came on a slower night and the reviews did not do justice. The staff was quick and friendly. The drinks and food came out fast. The side salad was average but the wedge was very good. The country fried steak was well seasoned and cooked just right. Prices were a little higher than I would expect for the quality and location but definitely the best place for 30 miles.

I actually felt terrible for the staff here, they were out of everything. I saw no management presence at any point.Food took forty minutes for a small filet and backed potatoes and steak was overcooked.Hard pass

Ohhh wee this food be good in the nayberhood you feel me? The only reesin im givin 4 starz is becuz the servus is kinda crap but the food be deleeshus. Just make sure to get the stakes medium cuz if you do medium rare it gonna be redder than lipstick. Plus you can gamble 2 feet away. My girl plays the machines but I like blackjack cuz thats for gentlemin.Edit: No, nope, get yer stakes medyum rare cuz while the meet is good, these dum dums dont always know how to cook it to temp.

Have eaten at 3 different locations around the country and all have been a positive experience. Good atmosphere, service, & outstanding food each time.

Tables to small. Service is bad. Overpriced. Go somewhere else for sure. First time. Last time.

Sunday brunch, on rybeye looked great, mine was 3/8in thick. Food took FOREVER. Eggs were not cooked as asked. Potatoes were greasy, soggy. Staff acts like they've never been to a restaurant before. No management that I saw. If it's my call I'm never going back.

The service was terrible. The restaurant had very few patrons, and we hardly saw our server. We had to ask other servers for drink refills, to which we were told they would get our server. Which took some time. Our server was unfamiliar with the menu items. The food was average at best, and came to us cold. We just ate it because we agreed that sending it back would take way too long to be worth it. The price point was higher than average for the area, and much higher for the quality of food and service they offer. The restaurant is new and very nice inside. I have eaten at Saltgrass before in Texas, and it was a great experience. Sad, but this location probably won't make it here. Pretty much everybody parrots my experience. It's really the only chain steakhouse within 45 minutes, and with this monopoly, there is no reason why they couldn't be packed every night. I was looking forward to their opening, but will probably not go back. It actually makes the 45 minute drive to a competitor not seem so bad anymore for a good steak with good service.

I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment we sat down, the service felt off. Our waitress was clearly in a rush, and she was very rude throughout our meal. The most frustrating part was when she came over to our table while we were still eating and removed our food without asking if we were finished. We were in the middle of our meal, and it felt incredibly disrespectful.The food itself was decent, but the service was beyond unacceptable. I won't be returning, and I hope they address this behavior before it ruins the experience for other customers.

We got reservations for a Friday night. There wasn't a wait, but heard it gets busy. The service and food was good. We will go back.
