Best and the original sushi in indy. Service including hand made sushi makes the ambiance fantastic because everything is created by hand with care for you!! I always take out of towners here

I kept hearing that Sakura has the best sushi in Indy... and I think this party agrees! We always drive past it and have never assumed much, but wow! The ginger dressing on the salad was the best I've ever had, miso soup was great, and the teriyaki chicken was delicious and big enough for two meals with leftovers. Highly recommend!Despite not having a reservation on a busy night, they fit us into this lively restaurant. Be sure to call ahead to avoid a wait.

This place continues to have fresh food for reasonable prices. I love coming here for sushi and it never disappoints. The only negative is they are Pepsi not Coke haha. We got Shrimp Shumai for an appetizer and it was so good. Love a good steamed dumpling! For dinner we got: yellowtail roll, spider roll, samurai roll, salmon roe Everything was great. Just wish the spider roll wasn't as mushy it fell apart by the end too easily but had good flavor/taste

It's been a minute and nothing has changed. Sakura still delivers incredibly fresh food at reasonable prices. We took the risk at 7:30 on a Saturday and only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The space is tight and quaint and perfect. Always a good time!

Food and service was okay. The main problem was that while we were there, there was a MOUSE running around the dining room!! I alerted a server and they didn't really care much until the mouse came back around and ran right towards a server who then smashed it with her foot!!! Pretty crazy experience. They ended up giving us a $10 credit for our meal... Tried to get a photo of the mouse but it's very blurry but there

This place is usually bustling, but we lucked out on this rainy day and got in for dinner without a crowd. It's such a charming Japanese restaurant that made us feel like we were in Japan or perhaps a Japanese Disney (they even had Disney music playing). We were greeted by a lovely, smiling lady and got to sit near the sushi chef, which added to the fun. The hot herbal tea we ordered was absolutely refreshing and savory. We shared the cold buckwheat noodles, which were incredibly tasty and unique. Our sushi rolls were pretty good choices, we particularly liked the smoky and crunchy Canadian roll, and the fantastic Texas roll. The saiyan roll was okay, but the texture was a bit off, and the conch was decent considering we're landlocked. We definitely want to come back for the great atmosphere alone, and to try some udon.

What a gem! I dig a bit of research when trying to find sushi in Indy, and resoundingly Sakura was recommended. Fortunately I was only a few minutes away, so I decided to roll through and I'm so glad that I did. The restaurant is very unassuming from the outside, but you just get that feeling that you know it'll be legit right as you enter the door. It is intimidate inside, but I was able to get a table right away. The waitress was friendly, the menu was easy to navigate, and I got a bunch of amazing sushi. I'll be back before I leave town--so glad I stumbled upon this place!

I've been here a few times as it's one of the closest Japanese restaurants near me. Cool little spot that always seems to be busy! Service is great. I've had the sashimi, a few different rolls, and a couple different ramens/udons. All in all it's pretty good. Will continue going here once a month or so as it's a good option for Indy sushi.

I ordered a tuna roll. It came filled with minced tuna, not as it should be, a simple single slice of tuna. I don't think this is safe, and it didn't taste good or fresh. It was a bit off. I told the server and she replied that this is the dish they serve. Not going there again.

Sakura is an intimate space serving authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi. A mainstay of Keystone and Indianapolis in general, they have competitive prices compared to other sushi places, but with the best sushi in town. Their veggie roll might be the best in the country, in my humble opinion. Their lunch menu is fantastic, if you have the opportunity to go during lunch hours.Service heavily depends on how crowded the place is, and it can get busy fast. Would not recommend for anyone looking for a quick in and out, but if you want a relaxed dining experience with plenty of conversation and delightful flavors, this is the place.
