Rural Inn

I contacted them to see if they had certain bottles of bourbon in stock and was informed by a young lady ,they don't tell customers if they are in stock. I informed the young lady I would be driving from Chicago and she stated it doesn't matter.

It frankly does not get better than the Rural Inn, between the free first of the month bourbon tastings and VIB Club I do not think any other store does more to benefit Bourbon nerds than the Rural Inn, Ray and Vince and their staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and I guarantee they will point you in the right direction for Bourbon whether you are a newbie or a long time enthusiast.

Very unique situation where they let you taste the store picks that they have. This was cool cause it allowed me to find something I did enjoy.Was disappointed to see quite a few bourbons that I wanted to buy but was told they weren't for sale. See picture.

This liquor store/bar has it all! Cannot explain how amazing the staff is, their selection of bourbons, beer, etc. You become family with the staff after getting to know them!

High low. That's my thing. And it doesn't get much more high low than the Rural Inn. Connoisseurs from every walk of life pour into this little neighborhood spot 7am to 3am daily to revel in the astounding selection. Should you want a plastic half-pint or the bourbon of your dreams, they got you. There's also a Bourbon Club if you're into the very select and rare stuff - ask for the number to text and they'll sign you up for exclusive offers, raffles, and events. But wait, there's more! The Rural Inn also has the most amazing bourbon bar in the state of Indiana. Yes, I am serious. Sarah will pour you a glass of the good stuff at very reasonable prices. They have bottles you won't see on any other bar shelf in Indy. Fun, neighborhood atmosphere too, just don't go late - they close before the real freak action begins.

I like everything about this place other than the tater hunting bourbon bros you occasionally have to listen to if you need a bottle of Mellow Corn, Evan Williams BiB, or whatever. The one time I did attempt to avail myself of their services, the bourbon guy just gestured noncomittally and seemed disappointed that I only had 30 bucks to spend on a bottle. I thought I was living large but he was unimpressed! In that neighborhood, such treatment of a customer just uncivil and stupid. It's open early, its open late. And early. My favorite liquor store in the city, if I'm being honest. Great people watching, and you never know what's gonna happen. The employees are always nice, other than the snobby bourbon dickhead, and Rural Inn just rules. I think I've said my piece.

The amount of selection of all types of whiskey are phenomenal. The staff is happy to assist and the Rural in store picks on liquor are superb.

In a world where the bourbon game is full of buyers and resellers, you can't get your hands on as many things we used to without paying the price tag. Ray and his team make it as fair as possible with their points system, and introduce tons of new store picks and bourbons. I am so thankful to find this true honey hole. I will continue to support a place like this that takes care of its customers for a long time to come. Cheers!

I'm letting you in on a secret, this place is for bourbon aficionados. We were floored by the selections in the wall of bourbon and rye. When we started reviewing selections the owner offered tastes.We returned for the first Saturday of the month bourbon tasting. They have chosen six single barrel Russells reserve bourbon for a blind tasting. Definitely not pompous about this and it's very laid-back

Stumbled upon this gem on the advice of a friend. Incredible Whiskey selection and Ray's knowledge and generosity is on point. I will absolutely be back and look forward to attending their charity functions later this year.
