Roanoke Village Inn

The chefs are great, best tenderloin sandwich ever. The bartender on Tuesday could use some better personality. Maybe instead of discussing what a bad sinus infection she has and her problems be positive and happy instead. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. Maybe that's why the bar was empty at lunch time.

Still a great joint... hand breaded tenderloin...crispy, moist and flavorful...opted for all the toppings!Bartender recommended the breaded mushrooms, and they just added another bonus to my already high fondness for this place... whenever I am in town I hit up this joint...still on the list!

The Village Inn was rocking at 6:00pm on a Friday night when we arrived! It must be the place to be in Roanoke on the weekend! We weren't there for the full bar or the music but for the butter fish and the prime rib. Our party of four was seated after about 15 minutes and even though the place was very busy our server did an excellent job and was helpful and upbeat. The prime rib was delicious and rare as I ordered. My buddy had the same and the women ordered the grilled and broiled halibut. The fish was perfectly prepared and the house salad was crisp and fresh! The baked potatoes were hot and fluffy! No complaints from our four top.The bill came to $180.00 with tip but well worth it for a nice out on the town!

When I was a child growing up in Roanoke the Village Inn was a bar ignored. As I stayed in the area the place grew in popularity. It is one of my favorite places to go. No one knows me anymore but the service is extra ordinary. So friendly to everyone. The food is good. That is not necessarily why I go there. It is very nostalgic for me. The pork chop is outstanding and I just feel good when I leave. Don't be in a hurry and soak up the total experience. You'll keep coming back

Great service! Friendly and cool ambiance. Was good for people of all ages. Very relaxing. Food was wonderful. Was a great place to take friends and our daughter for a nice quiet night.

This place looks like a dive from the outside but it is elegant on the inside especially upstairs. I had the breasted chicken which is really fried chicken. It was very good. I also had the coleslaw and fried mushrooms as a side. Coleslaw was too sweet but the mushrooms were plentiful and good. They had some Indiana beers on tap. Wife ordered a chicken breast sandwich and buffalo chips. Sandwich was ok and the chips did not taste like buffalo sauce. Sister in law got the port tenderloin and it looked epic. She felt the town and restaurant came right out of the hallmark channel. We will come back.

Good food, good service,decent prices.I've been here several times and the food has always been good, as has the service. Only complaint is that we came in on a Friday evening and the only available seating was at the bar. Not a problem, but there were 3 employees using a main room table to wrap silverware. Probably could have found a better place for that.

We waited over an hour for weak drinks and cold food. When we asked the hostess about our food, we got attitude, and then she proceeded to bring us our cold, rubbery food!

Absolutely ridiculous service! especially on a Thursday. Food was good. The menu needs changed for gratuity. It stated for party's 12 or more it would be added in. Well we got charged for it with only 10. We waited for over a half an hour to even get our drink order. Not a good experience at all. We will not be going back!

If i could rate 0 i would. We had reservations at 7:15p we got there and we weren't even acknowledged until 30 mins after we sat down. idc about "busy" we had reservations for a reason. We then had to wait 20 more mins to even order our food. We waited 1.5 hrs for our food and when we got it half of our food was ice cold, dry. We had a party of 10 and their menu says gratuity 20% for parties over 12 - which we weren't but still got charged for it. i paid almost $60 for a $30 meal. Service sucked - waitress standing at bar all night. i get mistakes happen but there was no reason i should have sat 3.5hrs at a restaurant.
