Cool spot, classy decor, great food... what's not to like? We were there with a (post church) party of eight. All of us enjoyed every part of our stay there. The all day breakfast menu (*and* a full lunch and dinner menu!) was too good to pass up. I really enjoyed my spinach and feta omelette. It came with some yummy hash browns and two super fluffy and delicious pancakes. The app platter that our table shared was great, including breaded fried pickles, cauliflower, mushrooms, jalapenos and potato skins, among other things. They handled a gluten intolerant guest very well. We loved the view as well, with a big open window giving a great view of the Eel River. Outside seating is ample, and the place is big enough for a crowd.

I took my management staff out to lunch with a reservation. For starters it was dead with only two other tables in a decent sized restaurant . The server was polite but the food was sloooow and mediocre. Unfortunately the server did make a huge mistake and give the wrong sandwich to one of our guests which was suppose to be a tenderloin but was pulled pork and belonged to someone else. Basically that whole debacle caused two to get there good 15 min after everyone else. My meal was somehow completely missed and took the same 15ish minutes to prepare. Total wait was 35-36 minutes, 15 longer than the group who slow ate but were done by the time we ate. Good across the board was bland and nothing special. Perhaps a breakfast or lunch if you have low low expectations and a lot of time otherwise don't go!

Great service, great location! Came here after another restaurant in town that had "river" in its name was closed for the day. Good thing too because it turned out the other spot did not actually have a view of the river. Was out on our anniversary and the owner and waitress were so accommodating and helpful, even allowing us to sit upstairs and helping us to surprise a dear friend that we were paying a surprise visit too while passing through the area! Food was fairly standard fare with pretty much everything under the sun on offer within the menu. The menu unfortunately had some pretty unappetizing photos of the food on it, but fortunately the food tasted better than it looked in the menu. It was actually the owner and his staff and the location that are the standouts here. They also offer the free use of the riverside volleyball courts for anyone eating at the restaurant and also allow non-paying customers to also play for a small cover charge. Our friends kids had a blast after dinner, playing volleyball on a court all to themselves while the littlest one collected shells on the shore. Given this was a Tuesday night, a Friday night crowd might be different, but we sure enjoyed having the outside almost to ourselves and we couldn't have chosen a better spot for our anniversary/reunion and hangout spot after! Great views of the river from the large patio. Had the liver and onions-- a Midwest classic I love but never make at home. It was excellent! The Old Fashioned I got from the bar was adequate but featured a bit more maraschino cherry juice added than I would recommend. But overall a good evening dining experience.

I can't believe this restaurant is not listed on Yelp! It gets rave reviews all over! We've been here now more times than I can count. I wish they had one on the East side of town as well.First, I'm not sure I established the right Category. So let me explain a little of the menu first before I tell you how great it is. There is a breakfast (now with it's own full menu) and last I knew breakfast is always available. Among all the normal standard choices and combinations you can create, is their pancakes (hotcakes) come from a secret recipe. I'm more of a waffler lover normally, but these pancakes will have you craving for more. There's a taste I've never had in a pancake before which makes them much more than humdrum standard pancakes. You'll find a variety from Mexican, Italian, Asian inspired dishes to sandwiches & items you hope to find at a good restaurant. There are Seafood & Steak varieties. It's a menu from kids to seniors to find something they'll enjoy. Most meals come with extras that normally only accompany dinners. From the outside, you might not even notice it's there. You might not even be impressed. Let the food & staff do the impressing. It's part of a multi business complex. If there is no parking directly in front of the restaurant, facing the restaurant if you enter the next parking area to the right, there are spaces there to park along the right side of the lot next to the street. There is a corridor you can walk through to get to the restaurant. Nice days, we often park there anyway and enjoy the short walk.There is a bar for drinks with your meal or to sit and chat with friends. I guess one way to describe it, is it's a nice restaurant with a bar, not a bar with food. Both is available, but more of a dining atmosphere.Inside, almost every table has a view of the river. Loons, ducks, geese, & others may visit the shores as you eat. There's never been a time without a visitor when we've been there. This is our first Spring/Summer here in Logansport - so I'm not 100% sure - but it looks like there may be additional seating for eating or entertainment in the warmer months. On our last visit I noticed they do have an upcoming live entertainment scheduled.All in all, this is one of the few places in Logansport when looking through reviews - River View Restaurant seems to have one of the highest approval ratings. Several review sites reflect a near-perfect 5 stars.

Nice conversation with staff & I want them to make it BUT there food isn't good just basic. Terrible margarita taste like bottle mix full of ice and some liquor.They need a "bar rescue"Sorry but want return.

Visited the restaurant for the first time. They have a good selection of menu items and specials. I chose the $21.99 10 oz. New York Strip and Shrimp of choice. I chose the grilled version. It came with a side veggie, which I chose carrots, a salad, and a potato choice, which mine was mashed. We had a large group, but the server did a great job getting drinks and orders promptly. Soups and salads also were quick. The entrees followed in good order.The first thing I noticed was my steak was not hot and could barely be called warm. The kitchen must have let the plates set because another member of the party observed the same thing. The first bite tasted like charcoal as if the grill has not been clean when my steak was cooked. It was a proper medium rare, just burnt on the outside. It was also over-seasoned. The salad, carrots, and mashed potatoes were excellent, though also barely warm. The shrimp were outstanding, lightly seasoned, and flavorful.When the bill came, I was charged $23.91, a 9% difference. I assumed it was an added gratuity because of our large group. When asked, the waitress said it was the convenience fee they are charged by the credit card company. I know from experience that the fee is 3%. I assume they banked the other 6%. The lesson here is to bring cash.The bill has a handy tip guide. The issue is the guide provides a suggested tip on the total bill. The industry standard is the tip is on the pre-tax amount because that is the service they provided. The tax is not considered part of the service. The guide listed suggestions based on the total bill.This 2 is a reflection on a couple of things, 1) the lack of quality in the food, and, 2) ownership taking advantage of the customer.
