Hip hop classes, yes please! One of the most legit hip hop teachers in the city, Fonzie, made the class fun and interactive. The class itself is an hour and fairly low-key - just pure fun. Everyone learns new moves for the first 20 minutes of class, learn a dance, and then do it in groups of two with Fonzie. Only $10 a class.Music: Loved it. Lots of Chris Brown and Bruno Mars. The class can also request songs for choreography each week. Studio: Spacious and modern, the studio boasts a huge mirror, exterior seating, and a huge dance floor. It's a bit hispanic too and made me want to take a salsa class later too. Location: The building is on the corner of Michigan and Capitol, but the door is a bit hidden and is located on Capitol. Look for the Riolo Dance logo printed on the door, walk in, and take the elevator to the second floor.

This review is for Xavier, an instructor at Riolo. He is the best!!! I take his cardio dance classes which are upbeat choreography to contemporary music. During quarantine, he is leading classes over Zoom (aka Zoomba, get it?) and I highly recommend them for people of any skill/experience level who want to get their heart pumping and forget they're even working out. The dances are perfect, just challenging enough - not super easy, but after a few classes you'll start to have the routines memorized. I haven't taken his other classes yet at Riolo but look forward to one day as I have heard great things! If you like zumba-style classes then you know it's all about having a great instructor. Once you find one you love, it becomes the best part of your day and you never want to miss a class. That is Xavier to so many people in Indy! Support local talent always but especially right now, if you can.

I have always wanted to learn a ballroom dance, but never actually took the step of going to a dance studio. Thank you Brittany S. and Brittany's intern (can't remember her name) for making this happen!I attended the Yelp Chip and Salsa event hosted at Riolo dance where we got to choose to learn either Salsa or Cha-Cha. I chose Cha-Cha which was taught by Rob. The steps were explained easily and repeated several times so everyone could get it. We were taught three different steps. I absolutely enjoyed the session, and I am currently experiencing happy feet (my feet wants to keep dancing Cha-Cha-Cha!). I foresee ballroom dancing in my future (at least socially).About the dance studio, it is located on Capitol and Michigan. There are two extremely spacious studios which are both on the second floor of the building. The owner of the studio, Ms. Riolo is an experienced dancer who has been dancing for the past 30 years.

The Riolo Dance studio was very nice. It is located in a nondescript location right across the street from the new downtown marsh. It is located on the second floor. The space i was in was modeled after Argentina according to the owner. I participated in a class taught by Rob, the ChaCha/Ballroom Instructor. He did a great job at breaking down the technical aspects of dance, which made it more digestible for a novice like myself. Things to know:1. Initially, the room will be a little cold, but you'll grow to love the chilled atmosphere as you start moving around and breaking a sweat. 2. Wipe your shoes off so you don't scratch up the nice floor. 3. You will make mistakes...just ask for clarification...and don't look in the mirror at first (because then you will see how horrible you are) and you'll be just fine! After you've shaken out the nerves then you can face the mirror!

Location, location, location. It is a mystery. When you are driving on the street, just know it is in the large building off of Capitol and Michigan. The entrance is in between two other businesses with a very small sign on the door. Note: There is no sign on the building or above the door, just on the door. Once you go inside take the elevator or stairs to the second floor. The two rooms are large, light and spacious, which makes dancing way more fun! But remember to stay in your lines so you're not swinging into others. :) I went on the Yelp Chips and Salsa night and it was a blast. You could either learn salsa or the cha cha.The instructors are fun, nice, loud and confident. If you have questions or are making mistakes they will address it as a group note instead of singling you out and embarrassing you.It is $55 for the month and I believe once class each week.

Riolo is a dance studio hosting different companies. The space is large and offers a lot of room for dance classes as well as socials. I take salsa lessons with Latin Expressions. They also offer bachata and other Latin style dance classes. The other companies host different types of classes as well. If you've been thinking about taking classes you should check these companies out!

Fonzie's hip hop class is my favorite! His choreography is amazing and is always on point. He makes sure everyone is caught up and makes you comfortable. It's truly a great time!!

A very nice dance floor. Organization could be far better...classes and events happen on top of each other which is unfair to each participant.
