This pizza was great. Hot and fresh. I loved how crispy the crust was. The pizza is very light on sauce. Next time I order, I will request extra sauce or a cup of sauce on the side.

Rick's Pizza is an institution in Rensselaer, Indiana ... and for good reason.Ricks is located at the 5-way intersection of Clark (IN-114), College and Van Rensselaer, in a reclaimed gas station. Is this the kind of pizza I grew up with on the South side of Chicago? No.Is this the kind of pizza where the sky's the limit and the chef is ultra-creative? No.Is this the kind of pizza I want when I have a taste for pizza to eat when all I want is a pizza, don't want a frozen pizza, don't want to do the cooking myself, and don't want food poisoning? YES!!!!! The menu is pretty limited as restaurants go. There is thin crust pizza with pretty good toppings ... a couple of sandwiches ... ice cold Coke & Pepsi products ... and that is pretty much it.when you pull up, there is a big picture window on the West side of the building facing North. If you see a guy with white hair working there, it's Rick.Rick runs the place with efficiency and has pizzas and sandwiches rolling out as quickly as he can. He usually has a helper with him to take orders and ring people out. There is also, usually, someone to handle deliveries. That's about it!Rick makes the dough every day so you know it is always fresh. If you do feel like eating there, there is a small eating area with a couple of Formica tables ... nothing fancy and an arcade game if you are waiting.== WARNING ==Have cash. Rick doesn't take any credit cards at all. It kinda' reminds me of a place I grew up with in Chicago. There it was ... - If you want a pizza, come and get it or eat it here, we don't deliver.- If you want to actually eat the pizza, bring cash, we don't take checks or cards. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being really good ... I would give Ricks an 8. Not for the pizza, I mean, I am from Chicago and I do have my standards. But when you take in the whole package, you can't get any better from one of the last honest businessmen you will ever meet.

Rick's Pizza is an amazing locally owned pizza restaurant. The owner/operator is also the only chef, hand tossing every pizza himself with loving care.Typical toppings are of course available, but Rick also offers more exotic fair such as Apple Butter and BBQ sauce. While sandwiches are also on the menu, the pizza is the main reason to go to Rick's Pizza. The crust is delicious and made from scratch daily. The cheese is grated on-location and the sauce is hand made.A must-have if you're in the Rensselaer area.

Everything that Mark R. said is still true! Rick's has excellent pizza and the price is right. The only other thing notable is that the business is in an old corner filling station building (very interesting), so seating is somewhat limited if you plan to dine in.I believe there were 4-5 booths available. All in all, it was a very tasty experience!

We gave Ricks Pizza a try tonite, just moved to the area. All was good however, it would have been nice to get sauce on our pizza. There was no sauce or hardly a dribble. Toppings, Crust and packaging all what you expect a good pizza place to be. Customer service was decent and pickup was good. Just wish they put sauce on our pie so we could really experience Rick Pizza the right way. - George

According to most of the reviews, I gave this place a try. I'll have to agree with another guys post, plus this comment is going show my age. Remember the commercial "where's the beef?" Well I would like to say, "where is the sauce". They put it on so thin, you can't taste it and you can hardly see any. It's as if they put the sauce on, then wipe it back off, and that's what you see of it. So little sauce, the cheese sticks to the crust so well, you can't just lift the cheese and toppings off and eat it alone. You've got to scrape it off. I will say though, the edges of the crust does have a good flavor. That's the reason for 2 stars.
