I hate writing a negative review, but do yourself a favor and avoid this place if you are considering living here, particularly the Indy Indie Artist Colony. For over a year now I have experienced issues with not having heat in my apartment during the coldest temperatures. When I've mentioned the fact that we should not be paying rent for a space that doesn't have heat provided I have been met with "it's an old building and old buildings have issues", in addition to the fact that Reverie Estates (last year) provided me with FOUR space heaters as a solution to the problem. First of all, that feels like a fire hazard. Second of all, the breaker blows if you attempt to even have two of these running. Not to mention the fact that one day I came home from work to discover my apartment was flooded, and I wasn't even notified by Reverie Estates, who was aware of the fact that not only my apartment, but the apartments above me and below me were flooded as well. The elevator has constant issues, the washers and dryers in the basement are unreliable, the vacant apartment to my right has had water seeping from the door into the hallway, and the apartment to my left is vacant and mold-filled (see photos), and I'm sure will be rented to someone who deserves better in the near future.Like I said, I hate writing negative reviews, but living here has been an emotionally distressful experience, and I would highly encourage you to find a new home elsewhere.

Beauty and the bats?!?! (A review of Penn Arts)Historical art deco charm is fun to live in until....At times I didn't have heat. When this happened I cited Indiana code to management about why it's illegal to not provide heat to tenants. Didn't do much good other than they brought me a space heater. Ummm, isn't it dangerous to leave those on all day when you are gone??? I also have two cats that might want some heat. They take away the internet once included your fixed utility fee... without changing the amount of the fee.The free laundry suddenly turns into coin operated. You are consistently accosted by people in the parking lot asking for money. Yep, parking isn't gated and you share it with the businesses. They no longer hold packages for you at the office, even though your building isn't secure in the slightest! There's a bar on street level and anybody can waltz right up the stairs and to your front door. NOT SAFE IN MY OPINION.Per above comment, also had drunk people roaming the halls, making lots of noise. Fun times.I have about 20 other complaints but my biggest one is...My last week living there I was walking down the stairs. Stepped onto a floor and turned left into a hall and directly in my line of sight... a bird?? no.... a bat! A real live, potential rabies carrying BAT flew right by my face! My neighbor, whom I was headed down to see, called maintenance. Their response was 'We have bigger problems right now'. BIGGER THAN A HUMAN GETTING RABIES. OK.Next day... I spy on Facebook a picture a neighbor living directly below me had posted. It's a picture of a bat clinging to a chair in their living room.Do not be fooled by the building's charm, the concrete floors, or the fact that you will have a coffee shop/bar so close you'll start to feel it's acceptable to show up in your pajamas....Think of what makes you feel safe. Look for those things in a place to live.P.S. Bat bites are hard to detect. Rabies treatments are not usually covered by insurance. Also, I recommend doing research on surviving rabies if bitten.

I live at Reverie Estate's Piccadilly community located next to Herron High School on 16th street and absolutely adore my apartment. Reverie Estates has done a terrific job maintaining and highlighting the original character of this community. I have beautiful hardwood floors, an updated kitchen, a unique bathroom with beautiful tiling, and a radiator that really gets the job done (plus adds to the overall charm of my apartment). My apartment is just over $1/sq ft and I have an all inclusive utility fee that is very fair and convenient. I also LOVE that we have recycling! My neighbors are wonderful, the laundry doesn't cost more than you'd expect, a spacious bike storage room, and a very unique lobby area upon entering the building complete with a semi-in-tune piano. The service team is polite, professional and communicate clearly the work being completed as well as if they need to order parts and when to expect them back. The management team provides wonderful customer service and are quick to reply via email or phone. 100% recommend to anyone interested in an affordable apartment that meets the basics and provides the type of character and charm not found in new construction.

At first everything seemed great at Reverie Estates and the Suites of Irvington, but all of that quickly changed. After 2 weeks of living here one morning I went out to the parking lot to find that my car had been towed. After calling the office multiple times I was finally told they had "forgotten". to give me a sticker and that they would reimburse me the tow cost on my next months rent. It was frustrating that I had to waste an entire day and miss work to go pay to get my car, get the sticker from the office and come back to the apartments. Another issue is maintenance would come during the day while I was gone and when I would return my apartment was left unlocked. After a. year of living here I got married and my husband moved in to my apartment it was affordable, nice location etc. I was getting what I paid for. My apartment was soon infested with mice, and bed bugs. I had to throw away a couch, my bed, pillows, blankets and pay an exterminated to come out and spray my apartment. It was a nightmare! We placed many traps and living on the 3rd floor you would think mice wouldn't be an issue, but it was!!!! We found there was a hole in the wall behind the fridge where the mice lived. We called maintenance and no one seemed to care about the problem. I cannot tell you how many managers we went through in my 2 years of living here. It was constant changes and that wasn't ideal. The final straw was in Oct. 2019 we went on our honeymoon and came back to find our ceiling was cracked and leaking. We called maintenance and were told it wasn't an emergency. 3 -4 days later maintenance showed up took a picture of the ceiling and did nothing to repair it. After multiple attempts to get it fixed and no response my husband and I got out of there as quickly as we could. We found out that the manager was leaving too due to the poor conditions of the building and the toxic work environment. After moving out in FEBRUARY we got a call asking if our leaky ceiling was every fixed. What a joke! I kindly informed them we moved out and it would be nice if they fixed the leak for the next person. Other dislikes, people wandering the halls, nasty gym, provide own window a/c unit, hallways were not well kept and often when they were being cleaned there were no wet floor signs. We never got a deposit back, but I am okay with just not living in these horrible conditions anymore. So grateful we got out when we did. Do yourself a favor and avoid any and all Reverie Estate Properties!!

When I first started renting with reverie (the first few years), things were great; however, unfortunately things have drastically gone downhill. We have had three management companies in the last 6 months, with very little communication/transparency/guidance regarding the transitions. The current management company (H.I. management) as well as the previous one (Vicinia) have both been dysfunctional and exasperating to deal with. One example is that residents have been unable to get ahold of anyone in the office via phone or email for over a month given that their "phones and internet have been down". Two employees actually knocked on my door unexpectedly one morning to tell me that contractors would be at my unit in a couple of hours because they couldn't call or email me. Prior to the current management company taking over, when you would try to call someone in the office and would indicate that you were a current resident the phone would just disconnect. I was without heat this winter and called the emergency maintenance number (the only thing I knew to do) and got a full voicemail box. I later learned that this was no longer the route in which we report emergency maintenance issues but we were not informed of the new process. I have had to resort to actually going in person into the office multiple times to talk to someone.Another example is that I was threatened with eviction because I was given extremely short notice about contractors coming into my unit (for a non-emergency issue) and I told the management company that the time didn't work for me because I work from home and had to be on camera at that time as I was hosting a meeting. I asked why they couldn't schedule something with me and was told that is the only time that worked for them and I could work from my bedroom and if I didn't let them in she would send me an eviction notice.(I took this threat for eviction very personally as I have been patient and graceful with this company over the years, dealing with significant issues such as instances of no heat in the winter, banging/clanging pipes that have kept me up in the night, and waking up to a bat in my bedroom due to a lack of screens in the windows.)They also don't seem to have a maintenance crew, they don't have the common areas cleaned or the yard landscaped. My place was in such disrepair at one point that I had to eventually hire someone to do maintenance work for me. Additionally, I have taken it upon myself to clean parts of the common areas, even taking out trash and debris from the entry way area to the dumpster. In January, they hired an unqualified group of contractors to do some repairs on my balcony and the contractors left my balcony in a state of disrepair- it was unsafe to go out on for 5.5 months because of detached railings (one that was so bad, someone could have fallen over the edge) and debris such as broken glass and rusty nails. Despite the health department becoming involved, the company did not attempt to even make the balcony safe to go out on or help me clean up the mess. After 5.5 months of waiting, I had to resort to hiring someone to help me clean it up. The contractors also damaged my belongings (porch furniture cushions, patio lights etc) and to this date (now 6 months after the fact), despite many failed attempts to follow up with them, Reverie has refused to address this with me or show any empathy or care for what happened. In my and others experience they have consistently failed to hold up their end of the lease agreement. They will take your money and then neglect you. Highly recommend against renting from them.

I woke up to no water twice, with no warning. Then i got my car towed even though there was a security sticker on the window. When calling to complain with a few choice words... The manager responds with... "Well why dont you move somewhere else?"Fantastic.

BUYER BEWARE!! I'd give ZERO stars if I could. 4 of my friends live here - in 4 separate units - and all are MOVING OUT ASAP!! Bed Bugs! No heat in winter, broken pipes, a nasty gym - and all that comes with an office that stinks at replying if you call AND increased rent. Ummm...OK. Really they need to call the BBB, the news, and the Marion County Health Department - people shouldn't have to live like this while Mgt Companies like this get away with it. Shameful really.

My first year at The Courts of Monon was just fine. Affordable, cute interior, quiet. After signing my second lease things went downhill. The clientele that begin moving in was questionable. At one point I found out my neighbor had armed robbery charges. The walls are super thin so noisy neighbors make relaxing in your apartment unbearable. Management does not visit the property often. Our trash dumpster was always being moved to inconvenient locations and trash and dirty mattresses would pile up (awful in the 90 degree heat). Air conditioning cannot keep up. Maintenance puts band aids on for fixes or gives excuses if they can't fix something. Little ventilation in the apartments and they are the first apartment I've lived in where I've found mold. Office takes days to reply to anything and they do not communicate with each other. Most of the time I lived there, empty apartments would get filled super fast. When I moved out there were several apartments sitting empty. Started well but aren't taken care of properly and they are raising the rent almost $150 a month!

Reviewing specifically Indy Indie Artist Colony as I lived there for a year. When I first moved in, it was great! Loved the apartment, great location. Then things quickly....went down hill. The roach and mice problems were atrocious. My kitchen cabinets were covered in roach and mouse feces. I'd deep clean, and two days later it was back. They'd call out an exterminator and he sprayed...but a week later they were all over the place again. So much of the drywall was coming off and cracking all around the apartment, it's no wonder they were able to get in so easily. The heating issues are AWFUL and inconsistent. Hot days the radiator would be on and you'd have to open a window or turn on the window a/c it got so hot. Cold days when you actually need it...nothing. Boiler stopped working in the middle of the polar vortex. NO HEAT for nearly two week when temps reached as low as 1 degree. My Maintenance requests were left untouched for weeks. When they did come, they did a half ass job or just didn't seem to know how to fix anything. NOT TO MENTION them just shutting off water, heat, or electricity with NO REAL WARNING. They'd send an email with the wrong date and time of when things would be off. It was inexcusable and sloppy. What happened when management was called? When you could actually get through to someone they couldn't care less about how they treat their tenants. Dismissive, not empathetic, and downright slumlords. Before I moved they were trying to RAISE THE RENT by $70 (which was my last straw) even though they had SEVERAL open cases with the Marion Co. Public Health Dept. and hadn't even fully addressed the issue with tenants not having heat for nearly 2 weeks. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. Pass on this place.

Recently under new management which thinks it's funny to raise everyone's rent thinking it will get the potholes fixed. Raising utilities and adding trash fee. Haven't emptied the trash cans in weeks. Laundry room is disgusting. Sad. Used to be a nice place to live before new management and degenerates moving in.
