There are several Asian businesses along Madison Ave. On a Saturday, I drove very easily to explore many of those businesses. I learned that most, if not all, are operated by Burmese, not Chinese. Of those businesses I visited, I liked this one the most.I ordered a $5 Samusa (onion and potato) appetizer with sweet chili sauce. I first saw a package in a grocery store. I am glad I found it later here instead because it was hot and fresh with a container of sauce. I believe this is my first day of eating Burmese food.

Not too many Asian or Southeast Asian restaurants around Indy from what I have seen, but this little hole in the wall place has pretty good Burmese food. From their fried rice plates to their Mong Hingka. All the dishes were flavorful and very tasty. The only thing I would critic would be when ordering I do wish the communication was clear. We ordered the House fried rice but we ended up getting the beef fried rice instead, it was still very good. I also wished they would have warned us about the rice plate sizes. We ordered three extra rices, I assumed it would be three small bowls but we ended up getting three large plates of white rice, each plate probably could have feed two to three people and we each got one. But I still.have to say the people working there are super nice. The sleeper hit at this place is their fried chicken wings. Very well seasoned (dried seasoning) you get the salty, spicy, and almost briny like favor. Get it if you like fried chicken

I've died and gone to Rangon! What a fabulous little place... I visited here on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30, and it was Hoppin! There were so many things that I wanted to try, but I settled for the tea leaf salad, the noodle salad, the Burmese tea and the Shan noodles. The wait was about 20 minutes, but it's because everything was made from scratch and to order, which I love and is totally worth the wait! Entrées all come with a complementary soup and spicy salad. The employees were so friendly, and sweet. I only wish it was closer to my home city! I will definitely be bookmarking this and plan to be back soon when I'm in the area!

This was my first time trying Burmese food and it did not disappoint! I tried several dishes from the menu, including beef fried rice (was supposed to be house fried rice), shan noodle, monhinkhaa, fried chicken wings and beef curry. The dishes also came with a side soup and salad, so the meal was very filling. Every dish was delicious and had lots of flavor and the right amount of spice! The young ladies at the restaurant were also friendly. I will definitely be back to try more dishes!

I live on the south side and see people of Burmese background all the time, but had never tried any of this cultures food. I was looking for a place to finally try Burmese food and was not disappointed. It definitely a Burmese favorite and we were the only westerns there. The waitress was extremely welcoming and helped us pick dishes. Both from the back of the menu written in Burmese so I could not tell you what either of us got and we're just surprised when it came to the table. It was extremely good though and so glad we just trusted her to pick a few things. I will definitely be back and so happy to have finally ventured into the world of Burmese food!

Greenwood/Southport has a large Burmese refugee population, which has opened many groceries, restaurants, and other businesses in the south-side area. Yangon is the latest restaurant to explore, if you are on a mission to visit all the local Burmese cuisine offerings. Yangon is also open until 9PM, which is a change from comparable Burmese places that sometimes start locking the doors at 7PM or earlier. The restaurant used to be a gyro/sandwich stop, with remnants of the old menu still posted. We visited around 7:30PM on a weekday and were the only customers. The menu offers traditional Burmese options, but I also saw "Japanese Ramen", pho, General Tso's chicken, and fried rice listed...so, there is a variety of Asian-influenced options. We ordered the "tea ice", samusa, cold tofu salad, and konebong kyaw with pork. The "tea ice" was similar to a Thai iced tea, a refreshing lightly sweetened milk tea. The samusa were delicious fried pockets of garam masala-scented potatoes, that came with a sweet & sour style dipping sauce. For $3, we receive six (6) samusa, which was a great deal. The tofu salad was dressed with sprouts and a peanuty sauce; the salad was good, but needed a squirt of lime and Sriracha to liven up the flavors a bit. My dining partner has enjoyed konebong kyaw before, and liked Yangon's pork version too...especially the huge chunks of stirfried bell peppers and ginger. The konebong stirfry had a salty & sweet taste, with hints of hoisin, fish, and soy sauces. Service was friendly, but I think they were getting ready for closing (and us pesky Westerners weren't observing the typical early Burmese dinner time). Yangon is small and it doesn't have the fanciest of atmospheres, but it is clean, prices are very reasonable, and each table has a selection of sauces (Sriracha, hoisin, etc.) to choose from. I hope to try the shan noodles, tea leaf salad, or the menu's untranslated dishes during my next Yangon visit.

What a great find! The food was awesome, the server was kind, what more could you ask for? This place is a total gem. We forgot to take pictures but we got a curry dish and a noodle dish. Both were delicious.
