Rack & Helens Bar and Grill

The food was delicious. We started out with the mozzarella sticks appetizer which was superb. We'd also ordered cheese fries but they forgot them. I had the smokehouse quesadilla and it was delicious. Gave this 3 stars due to the service. Our waiter was nice but when the food came out, the woman didn't seem to know who got what and ended up giving the wrong thing to someone. She seemed confused. This is a bar, so it's a bit loud for my taste. Somewhat decent selection of beers although they didn't have one of the ones listed. Overall a good experience.

Had lunch with a friend. Friendly wait staff. Took about 45 minutes total for black n blue burger and a tenderloin sandwich. Sides were very good, seasoned fires and a Mac n cheese. Burger was a bit dry but nice toppings. With a soft drink about $22-$25 per person. They do charge extra 4% for credit cards. All in all decent place to stop.

Since the fire their menu is not up to date on the various web sites. My wife had rib tips. They were bone in cut and were far over spiced and under done. Chewy and were a hard pull. It was apparent that they were a rush job with mediocre to poor left over product. The French fry's and tater tots were soggy and the patty melt was ok. Meat was good but the rye bread was too thick and stale. The past menu items were good but they have yet to hit there stride. I understand the up charge on the credit card but they should have the curtesy to tell you. I will say that they are one of the best food options in New Haven but that is a low bar.

We love to have dinner here. The menu is good and the food is pretty damn good. They have a wonderful sausage roll that we can split with a couple beers and have a fun night out. Trivia night can be a blast too.

Rack and Helens has a great selection of bar food and drinks. The service is excellent!

Love this place, but on the Wednesday night I went, there was a band that was way too loud, and it took 12 minutes for I had any service. The grinder was too hard on outside but was nice and hot on outside! Love there, BBQ Sauce and chips and salsa!

I don't normally do this, I usually do my reviews in some order of when I went to them, but I will make an exception for Rack & Helens Bar and Grill. Why? For the following reasons:1) Great service. I got immediate attention the moment I walked in the door. Immediately got my beer and put my food order in. 2) Talking about the beer, large selection... most I have seen in the area since I moved... craft beers and unique beers.3) I tried the Blue Moon Iced Coffee Blonde... it actually tasted like iced coffee with booze in it.... delightful! I love coffee and beer... perfect flavor. They had a bunch of other cool beers I want to try eventually like the Yuengling Hershey Chocolate Porter. The idea of that is just yum! 4) the food is standard bar fare... but done wellBeyond that it's the first bar I visited in New Haven, IN and also the first bar I walked out into the middle of a snow storm... was crazy! Visibility on the roads was nothing. Lol big shock considering I was living in Miami just over a month ago. It was an adventure in every way!

Exceptional food. Had the Smokehouse Quesadilla on my last visit. Yummm! Service was attentive without being overbearing. Having Guinness on tap was a plus for me. TV screens everywhere but fortunately, the sound wasn't distracting.

Stopped mid evening Friday eveningPlenty of open seating our server made a comment that it was a very slow evening I ordered the breaded pork tenderloin and totsThe best part of the evening is the beer is served in pints, and it is cold from there. The evening went downhill when the food arrived. The tots were not even warm the breaded pork tenderloin while crispy seemed to have no seasoning. Of course, the waitress brought the food, set it down and never returned to the table Until finished. She never came to check on the food. She never asked if I wanted a refillI don't understand how the service can be this poor on a slow night I was setting near the entrance of the kitchen and could see several servers just milling around

Been there 2x in last 6 weeks. Friendly and food tasty enough however both times mistakes were made on my order. I didn't special order the server made mistakes. Kind of in and out.
