This is an excellent golf course. It was is great shape and the layout is more interesting than most courses. That being said, it is as overpriced as most of the courses in Indiana. It should really be under $50 for a round but the typical rate is $70+. I love this course but refuse to pay that much very often.

It is great to get back to this amazing "Hell of a Golf Course".! This course plays hard all the time so bring your best attitude and your A game. Meandering links style with heather, thick growth and lots of bunkers. Fairways are nice and soft when your in it making for great imagination shot making for your second. Located north on 37 to 216th street. Hang a Right and let the fun begin. Bring your boys they will never forget The Purgatory GC!

I have attended two luncheons at Purgatory and it is a great venue that can accommodate large crowds for a sit down meal, though it can be a tight squeeze if it's a few hundred people. During both occasions, there was a buffet-style meal which did slow things down a bit but I was impressed with the efficiency and organization. Beyond that, Purgatory is a popular wedding venue with its lodge vibes and a wonderful golf course - so picturesque! Purgatory is just north of the heart of Noblesville off IN-37. Just a stone's throw away is Strawtown Koteewi Park with guided horseback riding, archery range, zip line course and tubing hill.

We came from a special dinner event (5 course dinner) and had a nice time! The service and staff were excellent.

Great golf course, pretty and challenging. 130 sand traps that are a bit difficult to play from. It's fair because if you lose one right or left you'll still be ok. The pace of play was slow, took 5 hours.

Played Purgatory for the 1st time today and shot 77 (from the black tees). There are no 'gimme' holes on this course. Every hole is a challenge in some fashion. As long as you play the fairways, you'll be okay. Sand traps are in excellent condition (luckily I only found myself in one). There are a lot of scenic tee shots. The greens run fast and true. I wouldn't recommend a beginner/novice golfer to play here. This course will eat you alive and make you want to sell your clubs!WARNING: DO NOT walk this course. I was unfortunate to show up on a 'no cart' day due to the course being too wet. You will walk 5-6 miles going up and down hills constantly. My feet paid the ultimate price. Never again.

Links style track where the main attraction is sand...playing partner and I rolled in on a cool overcast day and once it started in with a light rain it felt like we might have been in Scotland. Sun never did come out and it was a perfect start to a 2 day, 54 hole stretch.Generous and challenging greens, well maintained facility, $45 weekday rate with cart, and very friendly staff. Clubhouse is very nice, bag attendant cleaned up my sticks at the end. What is not to like here?Newer development since 2012 - full screen GPS in all carts. First time I had played using these and it significantly increased the enjoyment and more importantly, pace of play. We flew thru the course in about 3 and 1/2 hours. Partner from SoCal said this is standard there so hopefully in makes its way to more courses here.Tee boxes (and length) for all ages and skill levels should have Purgatory stand the test of time very well. What a great golf experience.

Great course but NO amenities for a very expensive course. No water, yardage, ball washers etc. pace of play was painful EVERY TIME I've played this course. If you don't have 4.5 hours or MORE to waste don't play this course. So disappointed. Save your money play somewhere else.

Love the course. Very challenging with all of the sand. Seems to be kept in great shape. Clubhouse with the pro shop and lounge are very nice. The course has several nice small log style buildings with restroom facilities in them. Great idea but the downside is they're absolutely disgusting. If you find one without a toilet backed up chances are it won't have any toilet paper. Suggestion: if you're male , go in the woods. If you're female, well.... I'm sorry.

Brutally hard, especially on a windy day, but a great experience. Hole 2 is among the best ten or fifteen holes in Indiana, and #12 probably makes the top 30. Top five clubhouses in the state, as well!
