Punjabi Dhaba

We found this place on our way to Chicago from Kentucky. It's very close to the highway so the detour wasn't much. We got gobi and paneer paratha, paneer pakoda and chicken kababs. The paneer paratha and paneer pakoda were mind-blowing! Reminded me of dhaba food on the Delhi-Punjab highway! My husband really liked the gobi paratha, it was evidently made from scratch and was made fresh. We loved the green chutney that came with the pakoras and it was nice to have fresh dahi with the parathas. The complimentary chai we were given while waiting for our food also tasted pretty good! This is a carry out restaurant run by an Indian originated couple. The gentleman was very social and chatted with us while the lady was whipping out our amazing hot food. I'm certainly coming back for the chai-paratha!

We tried this for the first time on Dec 27 and have already been back again not even two weeks later! I really wanted some takeout Indian food for my birthday and our favorite place to dine in was further than we wanted to drive so I started searching for restaurants closer to our home. There were a few but Punjabi Dhaba was super close and had some great reviews so we gave it a try. It's takeout only and a small hole-in-the-wall type place. They don't appear to have a website or online ordering but we found some photos of their handwritten menu and my husband drove down to place an order. He got some recommendations from the owner and some patrons while he was there and we ended up with two types of parathas, chicken Tikka masala, and paneer masala. He did have a decent wait, but oh was it worth it! Everything was amazing and since it was so close, it was still hot when he got back home. Last night we had no groceries and decided to order again. This time we called ahead and got parathas and Tikka masala again, plus we tried saag paneer, which my husband sampled during his wait last time. Our food was ready in the expected amount of time, checkout was quick, and the employee I met was friendly. Our meal turned out great again (and I remembered to take a photo this time) and we had enough for some leftovers. This might be our new fave for any takeout in the Franklin township area and we highly recommend!

Hopped in en route to Chicago from Bowling Green. The paneer pakora was very good and fresh. Samosa was also good. Parathas (gobi and paneer) were good and it comes with yogurt. Chapati was soft and fresh, needed some more salt. Mango lassi was not that good. Masala chai was not good but seems they give it free to every customer. Shahi paneer was average, does come with rice which is nice. Customer service is exceptionally good. Overall not a bad one, would go here for the parathas for sure.

This place might not have the ambiance but it definitely has the TASTE. Oh so delicious and authentic taste. Had such good stuffed parantha after a very long time. Worth what we paid for. Prices are very reasonable for everything and quantity and quality are on point. Ran by husband and wife only so be patient with them (they don't take long btw unless packed busy of course). No seating inside, just couple picnic tables outside. So carryout only. Definitely coming back to hog more on some delicious food.

Great fresh food and awesome customer service! Haven't found authentic curry that tastes this good for years! We will be coming back!

As a note, this business is cash, and take out only:I stopped in here a couple of months ago and got some chicken tikka for dinner. The food tasted good, and there was a lot of it. It could use a little more heat, but I'm not complaining. The owners are incredibly nice and even gave me a rose lassi to try since it was my first visit..Will be back!

Staff very friendly. As we looked at the menu we were offered this delicious Indian tea. It was amazing. We ordered the goat and chicken curry! I mean it was FENOMENAL. It was like so delicious and you can tell it's homemade curry. The garlic Naan was so good! I highly recommend this place.

Stopped in lastnight. The owners were great, gave us free chai tea, which was delicious. All the food came out in good timing. Got it for a dinner party and everyone absolutely loved it. We will definitely be coming back!

The goat curry was fantastic. I look forward to going back so I can try some more of their dishes. The owner was very nice and I didn't have to wait very long for my food. I thought that the prices were fair and portion sizes were good. I highly recommend others to give this place a shot
