This is a very nice traditional park located near the Masonic House and the Franklin Park and Recs office. It is huge, spanning 50 acres and has a lot to offer. First, there is an awesome water park located right outside of it. It is classified as a nature park and has many shady trees. The park has two playgrounds, one near the entrance and one near the exit. The one near the entrance is newer and consists primarily of a large green and brown jungle gym with slides, monkey bars, hanging spinners and bridges. There is a bank of expression swings and a bank of traditional/toddler swings over there. This playground area is on a bed of wood chips and has benches on the perimeter for parents to sit while their littles play. You will see a few picnic tables spread out in this area and a set of nice outdoor corn hole boards. The shelter nearest that area doubles as a rest room facility. The park has a few nice shelters with picnic tables under them and grills just outside of them. I counted at least four of them. The other playground area is fenced in and a little older. It has a jungle gym with slides, monkey bars, and bridges. There is a bench under a canopy for parents to sit and the area is on a bed of wood chips. Like the other playground area, there is a bank of expression swings and a bank of traditional/toddler swings. Other park amenities include a gazebo, a small creek for fishing, and an old graveyard, yes a graveyard. The park is home to a nice paved trail, the Franklin Greenway, that runs right through it. The park is pretty spread out and I like it. There is lots of space to roam. There is not much open green space for field activities such as soccer and football though. This is a very nice option for a nature park in the Franklin area. It is a diamond and the rough and can keep you busy. It does have a somewhat peaceful vibe with it. This could possibly be a destination park and I recomend checking it out.

This park is a true gem. Located just a short walk from downtown Franklin, it features several picnic shelters, multiple playgrounds, and beautiful views. It's a fun place to explore with your pet or family, and easy to connect with a creek side trail if you want to get in a good walk or run. This park is well maintained and great to visit any time of year, but it particularly shines in spring thanks to flowering trees and colorful flowers!

We've lived in the Greenwood area for about 5 years and made a number of trips down to Franklin, but until today I had no idea this little gem existed until a friend of ours suggested we take our kiddo to the playground here. Boy am I impressed! The park itself it gorgeous - plenty of trees that provide natural shade. (Keep in mind though that comes with its own challenges; bring some bug spray.) The different areas of the park are reasonably spread apart, all within walking distance of each other but definitely distinct pieces of the park that serve a specific purpose. The water park is just across the street from what appears to be the "newer" play area, which is a stylized treehouse with increasing difficulty. Plenty of slides for the little kiddos leading up to two tall tower slides. We didn't get to explore much else in the park, but I think Ken's review really nails the different amenities here. There's plenty for everyone and my impression is that it's very well maintained. Incredible job, Franklin!

Spent some time enjoying this park today! Lots of sidewalks, trails, and a long, windy creek that flowed throughout. We did some fishing in numerous spots along the creek, catching a variety of fish. Very clean park too! It appeared that there were plenty of places to park, conscientious but not taking up space. There were tons of beautiful trees and flowers in bloom that made being there even more enjoyable! Family friendly and dog friendly, highly recommend popping by this sweet park for some fresh air, pretty views, and walking trails!

This park complex is very cool, especially when you include the tangent Parks and Recreation Center and the property on the west side of Home Avenue. From the State Street entrance, a visitor has access to the Cultural Arts and Recreation Center which has parking and offers a number of programs. Next to the Center, an aquatics park with a splash garden and pool exists. From the north end of the parking lot, a road leads west over Hurricane Creek (check out the man made waterfall!) to several shelters, gazebos, and a small kids playground. To the west of the park (via Caisson Drive) can be found a dog park and a skate park. Parking is nearby on the south side of each park. The main park portion of Province Park is accessible from either Home Avenue or South Street. The mature wooded park offers a lot of shade. There are several gazebos and shelters and lots of picnic tables. The road that runs through the park has a pull off lane so that you can park easily on the south side of the road. Towards the south end of the park is a nice sized playground. Young's Creek runs through the park, which effectively divides the park in halves. Fortunately, a couple footbridges allow visitors to cross even if cars have to drive to other entrances. During my visit, the spring mulch had been delivered and a number of flowering plants were blooming. The park looks to be well maintained and a great place just south east of downtown to take a break.Review #816

Beautiful scenery and very well kept. No trash in sight, which is remarkable for a park. We decided to come down and fish a little bit just for some fun. Caught small bluegill and a small mouth bass. Part of the playground was shut down, likely due to current COVID-19 state regulations for social distancing. The people around were friendly and was acknowledging social distancing by talking at a distance. Excellent and safe place for a walk with the dog.

I love all the Franklin parks. Blue Heron Park just opened up the brand new all-inclusive Park where kids with all types of abilities can play together. The parks are always so clean. I love that we can ride our bikes through town and through the wonderful sidewalks throughout all the different parks. We just rented the Sunset Shelter house near the Aquatic Center. We rented Friday night and had a cookout for a birthday party. It was wonderful and shelter house even included bathrooms. Loved the cement cornhole boards. We brought our own cornhole bags for a fun tournament.

We love this park! It is hardly busy which is our favorite part. Almost every time we have been we've had the playground to ourselves and my daughter loves that! There's so many picnic benches and gazebos to sit on/under. There's also a lot of barbecues so you could definitely have a nice party here. The park is giant and I'm happy to live 5 minutes from it!

This park is nice but my husband and I took our 2 year old to the park to use the swings and play sets and we did not see 1 police officer go through this park. We witness someone who look strung out walk from a broken down car to the bathroom at the sunset shelter 17 times back and forth and also while we where at the little kid play set that is fenced in we saw a guy driving a blue mustang through there slowly 3 times back and forth. Looked suspicious and creepy. Doesn't make me feel safe to go there without my husband.
